Same for shifter linkage. There's a small rubber bushing that wears out on basically all cars. So one day you go to shift and it does nothing because the cable's fallen off.
I want to thank you for creating that video after spending two hours and 15 minutes trying to fix it another way.... your way worked perfect. I really appreciated that work that you did to send the video. Thanks again!
I am headed out to do that to my 02 Ram. My visor has been an aggravation for years. I have searched for a long time for a fix and nothing showed up until I found your site. Thank you.
I am doing this asap. Brilliant fix. My visor has been sitting under my back seat for over a year. Most of the replacement ones come from the states ( I am in Canada) and the cost with shipping and such just did not make it seem high on my list. So here I am at 5 am on a Sunday, decide to search again and you video popped up. Don't know how I have missed it before. Anyway, Thank You very much :)
Literally have the same issue and did exactly what you had tried and didn’t work ! I hope this works though because that visor is so annoying. Thanks !!
That's awesome! Been looking at used replacement visors that were dirty and quite frankly, wouldn't want to touch them for #100+ for my Volvo. I'm going to try this. You are a genius! Thanks for the tip!
I have the same problem but with my 2015 Nissan Altima. So annoying to have that dumb visor drop down while I'm driving. I'm going to give your remedy a try! Wish me luck 🤞.
Hey man, that's a damn good idea. The Sun visor on my mom's car is drooping and this would help a great deal. Next time we go to wal mart,we'll look for those same Velcro pieces. Thanks for the tip.
Thats amazing....thank You so much for sharing that....unfortunately I've already completely gutted my visor....and practically re-biilt the darn thing....lol
I’m in awe. I tried this years ago using electrical tape to provide some thickness on the visor rod. Of course, no go. Years later, same problem. Not my car but I’m the only one interested in a fix. Now let me go look for my repair kit with the Velcro. 😆
My Jeep Compass drivers visor has a large "spring" in it that has failed and I can't find an inexpensive replacement in the color i need. I will definitely try this hack!
Having the same issue with my 07 Nissan Murano driver sun visor! I've bought the velcros from Walmart also and tried to stick them on it to stay up, now I'm going to try the same exact thing that you just did. Thank you!
you know what's even better is twisting metal around the part that detaches and when you hook it; it creates perfect leverage. It even works with the velcro if that eventually wears out. It just figured it out!
I have the same problem on Suzuki Swift. The only thing is that part of the arm has broken off, so not sure if this method will work. Will give it a go.
Awesome video, I hope it works on my 2020 Jeep Renegade, your assembly arm looks just like mine. How many wraps please? Well, so far it's a no-go for my jeep. I tried a full wrap and that was too thick, so I cut a little piece and did a quarter wrap but the arm still won't slide over it. I'm going to see if I can purchase thinner Velcro.
thanks! I did the velcro fix on the fabric, of course like you said the sun melts the glue and it ended up not working..but this is a great hack..thanks!
You must have had just the right amount of slack and velcro. I tried your fix and-----no go. In truth, the visor flops down more slowly, now, but it still ends up hanging straight down. Time to pop for new visors or hit the junk yards and see if I can luck out.
The driver side I just got a new, Your idea I thought of doing that too. Now the passenger side is doing it too, so I will do what you have done, and save some bucks this time. Thanks for doing the video.
Thank you for sharing I have the same truck as you but only has 18,000 miles on it so after searching for a long time and not finding a replacement visor for under 60$ I found your video I had already tried tape and it didn't work the Velcro works great mine took two wraps also
I tried this out yesterday and it didn't work. Today I rewatched your video and I saw that I was placing the velcro piece to inside so I did it again and this time the visor stayed up. I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer. Sun visor stayed up about 95 percent I guess I can live with that I'll check tomorrow to see if it still up.
Wish my 85 Eldorado visor would pull away from the end far enough in order to have room to affix the Velcro!! No adjustment screw anywhere!! I have another junk one I will try to cut a slot on the underside thru the plastic and hopefully slide a small hose clamp around the end so it will tighten the plastic against the visor rod. Since it is leather there isn’t a lot of room to do too much and I don’t want to cut into the leather at all...glad the velcro worked for the others though.👍🏻👍🏻
OMG I drive a 2003 dodge ram and my visor does the same thing. I drive on the interstate a lot and everytime I hit a bump it would fall and one day I thought I was going to rip the damn thing out of the ceiling!
I don't have velcro but I do have sticky wrap bandage... If you know what I mean, do you think that would help also? The reason I'm asking it before trying is, I have it at the stable of my horse and not at home. So maybe your answer is quicker then getting it at home and trying it... If I'm quicker I'll let you know...
This is a good idea but it didn’t work for me 🤦🏾♀️ I have a 08 escape. The visor only moves over a tiny little bit and then it still flopped down. Happy to see it worked for most. Time for me to try the binder clip trick
I had the same exact problem, and I used a glue gun to fill the gap between the stick and the sun visor and it works pretty well too! I was about to add Velcro as well but I'm going remove the glue and try your method to see which way works best :)
I went to the dealer and bought the replacement arms for my wife's 08 kia sportage with the same issue. the arms (L&R) were a total of ONE DOLLAR and .08 cents. unscrew visor twist arm 90 degrees, yank it out, insert new arm, boom fixed. I found this fix by googling broken 2008 kia sportage sun visor.
I'm here due to my awesome 2001 Sportage passenger side........and I will NEVER pay $54.00 for that visor POS!!!!! Good vid. And it is not kia it is called Elements and HEAT/TEMP......ok a little of KIA ...wife's beamer never had that issue.....lol
I was able to fix mine thank you so much. I have a question!! The light cables were out because the whole visor was off but they were to long so i just cut them off and taped the end with electrical tape. Is that ok? Will a fire start?
What I did is I slid the visor of the rod on which it is mounted and then slipped a piece of surgical tubing over the plastic part of the rod and slipped the visor back onto the rod and over the surgical tubing and VOILA! no more sagging visor...the perfect fix...like new in all ways and even better. If you don't have surgical tubing use a latex household glove and cut of one of the fingers and slip that over the rod instead...works just as well....
I will try this, but I have a Kia Optima and I'm not sure if my visor pulls off like that. It seems the problem with the drooping is that the material inside of the visor has crusted away off of the inner bar. I will try this for sure though.
Bailey Saul Yes, it did work. It was very easy. I had to go to a dealer part shop to find them and they were about $100 a piece (left and right side). Initially they were very stiff but after a few uses they loosened up and are literally good as new. It was a little bit hard to get the plastic cap off to access the screws. Just don't be afraid to really get in there with the flathead screwdriver to pry it off.
Bailey Saul Bailey, oh crap. This was the wrong video. Sorry, you'll have to just go buy a replacement visor. This cheat doesn't work with the '08 visors because they don't slide off like this. I was thinking this was the video where it shows you how to replace the visor. It's a very easy do-it-yourself project that only took me about 10 minutes. Just pop the cap off where the screws are, unscrew it (don't lose them), unplug it, then just go in reverse putting in the new one. You'lll need to use the same screws from your old one though.
So I just go to Walmart and purchase Velcro, is there any specific kind or there's only one kind? I'm sorry don't think I'm slow and where do I look for it at, in the fabric or arts and craft section? Let me know, and thank you for putting this up!
Thank you! Ive tried it this way, but unfortunately i didnt place it in the correct spot therefore the velcro got stuck inside and now I cant remove it and when i tried it again it wouldnt work
Here's my solution that worked for me that I think is pretty cool and cheaper than buying a whole new visor. Get a 5mm bungee cable or one around that length and hook it around the roof handle near the window. Hook the other end around the back side of of visor where the small end connects to the car. Of course you have to unhook the cable if you want to open the visor but it will keep the visor out of the way until you can do a more permanent fix like the one in the video.
I have the same year Dodge Ram as you and I put the velcro up there and it keeps falling down for some reason I don't know what I'm doing wrong I put it right on the end where that thicker piece meets the thinner peace and when I push the visor in it knocks the velcro off
When there are 3/4 million viewers on how to fix floppy sun visors, its time for the car industry itself needs to go back to their drawing board.
We wish! This has been going on with many brands of cars since early 2000's at least. Can't expect logic or fairness from money hungry coprorations.
I just replace new sun visors ,if I see this video I will save some money.
Same for shifter linkage. There's a small rubber bushing that wears out on basically all cars. So one day you go to shift and it does nothing because the cable's fallen off.
Exactly
That's how car companies supplement their profits, replacement parts.
The visor Einstein! Hard to believe OEM is nearly a $100 for a replacement and you engineered a $3 fix! DOPE! THANK YOU!
It worked!!! I must've lowered and raised my visor 100x's because I couldn't believe there was such an easy fix! THANK YOU!
Lol! Funny!
Cute too ;-)
could somebody help Luvena. She has a new problem.
Thank you.
I tried so many different things over the past few months and this one finally worked, thank you!
I am doing this asap. Brilliant fix. My visor has been sitting under my back seat for over a year. Most of the replacement ones come from the states ( I am in Canada) and the cost with shipping and such just did not make it seem high on my list. Same here...
This is the BEST FIX So Far, U Rock Bro!!!
Great fix idea! Fought my visor for too long and I have extra small pieces of velcro in my office!
Thanks
I just called the car dealership they want $ 168.00 for a 2013 Nissan nv 200 so this fix is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Velcro took man to the moon.
Thank you for helping me fix the sun visor. Good day too.
Thanks for the tip!
volvo with floppy sun visors gang 🤘
good job...but I would think after a bunch of uses the vekcro would wear out or the inside of the visor.
Wow, so simple, effective, inexpensive too! Bravo!
I have the same problem but with my 2015 Nissan Altima. So annoying to have that dumb visor drop down while I'm driving. I'm going to give your remedy a try! Wish me luck 🤞.

This is the only thing that worked! Thank you so much for this helpful video! Really appreciate it.
I’m in awe. I tried this years ago using electrical tape to provide some thickness on the visor rod. Of course, no go. Years later, same problem. Not my car but I’m the only one interested in a fix. Now let me go look for my repair kit with the Velcro. 😆
This is perfect because I'm not going to be opening and closing it, just need a way to keep it up. Thanks!!
My Jeep Compass drivers visor has a large "spring" in it that has failed and I can't find an inexpensive replacement in the color i need. I will definitely try this hack!
1st fix I thought I would try out of sooo many videos.
Having the same issue with my 07 Nissan Murano driver sun visor! I've bought the velcros from Walmart also and tried to stick them on it to stay up, now I'm going to try the same exact thing that you just did. Thank you!
Genius! Good job. Was about to spend 60 bucks on one.
Thanks for posting. My 04 Ram just did this to me yesterday. I'll have to try this out
Will be trying this method on my 2014 Honda Accord over this weekend… will be listing you know the results.
Well?
Looking for the fix with the same car. Did it work well?
I'm going to try this as soon as I get home... Just purchased the $3 velcro!
Works like a charm. Mine took two wraps.
Which side of the velcro did you use? Did you use the fuzzy side or the abrasive side?
Tried the velcro stuck to the roof thing... Just pulled off.. Going to give it a go... Brilliant #Myttan Dha from Cornwall
Thank you so much!! Definitely getting this done today!!
you know what's even better is twisting metal around the part that detaches and when you hook it; it creates perfect leverage. It even works with the velcro if that eventually wears out. It just figured it out!
Elizabeth Reason + Where did you get the metal piece from?
Many brands have this problem. Every car I drove had the sun visor broken after a year.
Clever, thanks! Not sure if I can slide the visor horizontally, though...
You ROCK, thanks for figuring this out and sharing.
THANK YOU BROTHER Saved me a lot of $ & frustration. me like me Dodge 2500! GOD Bless
You are a genius!!!!! and I just happen to have Velcro!!! Thank you sooooooo much!!!!
great idea. How long did this fix work ?
thanks! I did the velcro fix on the fabric, of course like you said the sun melts the glue and it ended up not working..but this is a great hack..thanks!
Guessing you used the rougher side of the Velcro. I have some at home, definitely trying this out when I'm off work.
You must have had just the right amount of slack and velcro. I tried your fix and-----no go. In truth, the visor flops down more slowly, now, but it still ends up hanging straight down. Time to pop for new visors or hit the junk yards and see if I can luck out.

What a smart young man!
:) you saved me $174.00 thank you 🙏
Thank you for sharing I have the same truck as you but only has 18,000 miles on it so after searching for a long time and not finding a replacement visor for under 60$ I found your video I had already tried tape and it didn't work the Velcro works great mine took two wraps also
Thanks for posting this!

I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer. Sun visor stayed up about 95 percent I guess I can live with that I'll check tomorrow to see if it still up.
You're awesome dude good job 👏 👍
You sir.... Are a freaking geeeeeenious!
Thank you Sir you save me some money, visor cost is around 65 dlls.
Wish my 85 Eldorado visor would pull away from the end far enough in order to have room to affix the Velcro!! No adjustment screw anywhere!! YOU WON THE INTERNET!!
OMG I drive a 2003 dodge ram and my visor does the same thing. I drive on the interstate a lot and everytime I hit a bump it would fall and one day I thought I was going to rip the damn thing out of the ceiling!
Visor rage is a bad thing.😁
I don't have velcro but I do have sticky wrap bandage... If you know what I mean, do you think that would help also?

I am so happy! I'm going out and fixing mine right now, thank you so much!
Oh wow I have a 2008 Sportage with the same issue! But I didn't know how to fix it. Thanks, I'm going to look into it!

The Honda ones are just as bad....Great fix, thanks for the tip.
how do you fix the Honda ones???
I was able to fix mine thank you so much. I have a question!! The light cables were out because the whole visor was off but they were to long so i just cut them off and taped the end with electrical tape. Is that ok? Will a fire start?
Thank you for this. I’m gonna try it on mine.
did you have to glue that velcro to the visor rod or does the velcro come with glue on it already? Thanks
me watch this in 2020,
but thanks for the cheap solution man,
Dude you are lifesaver!!!!!! Thx for sharing.
Thank you for this wonderful tip, I'll have to try it !!
on my 3rd visor on my '05 GTO with the SAME problem. Will definitely try this!
You're an angel 🙏🙏 im a subscriber
If you can get to the end of the arm maybe some heat-shrink might do the same job?
What I did is I slid the visor of the rod on which it is mounted and then slipped a piece of surgical tubing over the plastic part of the rod and slipped the visor back onto the rod and over the surgical tubing and VOILA! no more sagging visor...the perfect fix...like new in all ways and even better. I will definitely try this today. How long will this fix last for ?
All this time! I even bought a drill thinking I could drill a hole and wire it.
Should I use the velcro that has a sticky side??
Great video DaddyO!!!
Bro this is genius!!
I really liked your idea. I do not know if it will work on my Tiida (Brazil) (Versa in the US) but I'll try. Thank you.
What do you recommend for passenger side fix? My visor wouldn’t slide out to apply Velcro.
👍🏻 Same truck same problem same solution many thanks
I will try this, but I have a Kia Optima and I'm not sure if my visor pulls off like that. It seems the problem with the drooping is that the material inside of the visor has crusted away off of the inner bar. I will try this for sure though.

Excellet video!! Greettings from Mexico!!
Can't wait to try!
thanks just wondering how this works?
Right on, much appreciated advice!
Thank you! Ive tried it this way, but unfortunately i didnt place it in the correct spot therefore the velcro got stuck inside and now I cant remove it and when i tried it again it wouldnt work
My 03 ram does the exact same thing! Thanks for the idea!!!
Thanks for sharing. How long will it last though?
I have the same problem with my 2004 Dodge Ram. What size Velcro do I buy? And is there adhesive on both sides?
thank you, great .fast cheap and simple :)
Many thanks! It worked just fine
Ingenious! Thanks so much!
Here's my solution that worked for me that I think is pretty cool and cheaper than buying a whole new visor.

Wow mite need new Velcro once a month big deal for 3 bucks very nice fix I looked new ones are nuts nice job
Hell Yea! THANK YOU. This visor thing is driving me nutssss!!!
Thanks.. it was driving me crazy 🤣
Thanks I Believe it will work! GOOD JOB! Thanks Again!
