    I’ve removed scratches to an acceptable level using ceraglass, misting water, a rayon pad, and a 3 inch da polisher with an 8mm throw. However I don’t know how to remove the haze I’ve created. Any tips for which combo I should use? I have access to lots of polishes and pads.

    • @Motorcarnut

      Depends how bad the haze is but I use 3M micro finishing compound with a wool bonnet. There’s many products out there that may be better suited for glass though.

  • @Nic1Moreno
    @Nic1Moreno 9 месяцев назад +1

    Faster and easier and practically impossible to screw up.....Ajax the widhield if you want you can use steel wool if you want but Ajax is fine ...once you notice the scratch has faded or has reduced in size ...clean up make sure completely no ajax residue what so ever ..then use any car polish on the windshield...it fills in scratches

    • @Motorcarnut
      @Motorcarnut  9 месяцев назад +1

      You have to be careful because the windshield is obviously a safety issue and don't want to distort the glass with products not recommend for that purpose.

    Thank you for the great content. I have 2 questions
    1. Does the cerium oxide leave a haze? Do you need to polish it with anything else to get clear glass after the cerium oxide or does it not leave a haze anyways? And the second question is: how long did it take you to remove most of the fine/smaller scratches you did first, 15-20minutes moving the polisher around or so?Thanks in advance from the Netherlands!

    • @Motorcarnut
      @Motorcarnut  4 месяца назад +1

      @@Motorcarnut so I tried it and the scratches faded a ton!! However, I did the whole windshield, didnt use pressure and went to drive it just now and I have noticed a ton of swirling and marring (evening hours). Im pretty sure this wasnt there before, must be the cerium oxide leaving swirls or maybe the marring just now became visible . What can I do? Use a finer/finishing polishing compound to smooth things out?

    • @Motorcarnut
      @Motorcarnut  4 месяца назад +1

      @Ryy22 It shouldn’t have left any swirl marks. Maybe the windshield was contaminated before and mixed together when you finished.
