Doctor Who: Season 1 Title Sequence (Original Theme)

- I have been working on this concept for a while! I almost had too many ideas and couldn't decide which to use. I settled on a more retro, 80s, colourful style which I think fits Ncuti's Doctor. I have taken inspiration from the 7th and 5th Doctor's titles along with a few others.

FINALLY SOMEONE USES WHAT WE KNOW WITH THE SPIRAL AND NOT JUST MAKING A RANDOM SEQUENCE WITH NCUTI’S NAME PLASTERED ON IT!!!! And what luck that the first one I see is absolutely phenomenal. You know how Capaldi’s theme was inspired by a fanmade theme? I very much hope this can happen again because this genuinely made my jaw drop 👏

I love that you took the colourful spirals behind Ncuti in that one promo image and made them into a vortex for an intro, absolutely splendid work!
My new favourite fan titles. Totally inspired but totally new. Like how you reformatted the timings, and the McCoy orb at the start is a great reference

I like how many referances this title sequence has. The McCoy orb, the 1980's face with stars, how the tardis goes close to the camera and the names like in the 2005 titles, and I think that purple-like splat at 0:12 in the center of the orb is a Jodie referance, but I'm not sure. And the logo... Fantastic!

This is awesome, all the callbacks, love the McCoy era ‘time-bubble’ making a reappearance.
Plus, the way you’ve animated the appearance of the logo is superb.
My favourite bit, mainly because I detest the way it’s done in the official TV sequence; that horrible swinging up into shot of a totally flat logo. Looks like it’s been done in MS Paint 😂

OMG, wow, the titles are amazing. Love, you took a touch of the classic titles remixed with updated titles and just love the theme, which I hope there will be a full version soon....please

The second I saw those promo images with the multi coloured spiral effect I just knew they'd make for an amazing vortex / intro animation. It feels so much like a modern version of an 80s title sequence 10/10 amazing stuff.

It's amazing how many fan attempts some pretty good like this one and some of them not so great that actually utilize the new logo far better than bad wolf actually did. I hope part of the delay in the Airing of the new season is to tweak the opening credit sequence and redo the theme because
The vortex you made fits in with the season one marketing looks really cool
I think my favourite part is your logo resolve. I love how every part is animated and feels like it has real weight.

The theme is an absolute bop. Only critique would the "ooweeooo" needs more highlighted but the use of guitars and stuff is awesome.
I agree with you. I always find something I would change every time I watch it. Sometimes you just have to "finish" a project xD

This just in: Fans once again make multiple better and more fitting options for Title sequences than the BBC. This Episode, SOOOO many good fucking ideas (80s vibe, colored spiral, the star face, etc) which were not used because Russel was so proud of the 60th titles
I love all the details and similarities to all the classic intros! The colorful spiral from 3, the purple and orange dots from 6, the purple sphere around the TARDIS from 7, the stars and the way the face appears from 5, the grey clouds from 1, and the shiny tube like vortex from 4!
Days of watching the intros over and over trying to pick bits out are worth it for comments like this!

Would absolutely love to see your logo animation on top of the actual title sequence from the specials. Really wasn't a fan of how the logo appears in those ones, any chance you could fix that? 👀

Imagine that in the upcoming there is an episode where to go to 1980’s. That this would fit as a episode special title sequence. And I actually hope it happens now. It’s awesome in my opinion.

@@BanthaBoi not really sure how to explain them, but theres a few fanmade titles that follow this extended opening sequence with the full bassline intro and the middle 8 included, i tend to find that openings like that are a bit boring, but these colourful visuals, constant momentum and that banging theme music all work together really REALLY well

Has no one realised that the intro atm may be temporary because it was david tennants and ncuti gatwa has his own theme
Plus if u think about it there will be an episode as to why the tardis is surfing the vortex so maybe his intro will change to his background on bbc iplayer with his intro not the 60th intro

Damn I'm not going to lie I've spend the last 3 hours trying to find a video that shows how to make that Spiral effect like in the Disney Plus promos,
Is there a chance you could show how you make it because it's pretty damn close!
It took me a while to get it right but I basically used particles with lots of motion blur. It was fairly long winded, I'll have a look at the project and see if I can help
I appreciate it buddy, I just have a decent idea in my head for a intro but I want to get as close as I can to the promo vortex and yours is a close as you can get it so any help you can give out would be huge!!!
Just wondering if you had a chance to look st the project to see how you made the spiral effect, I came close watching a few tutorials but none really come close to yours it's still amazingly close.
@@callumquinn2372 Yeah so I basically had a particle emitter keyed between two circles. One of the circles was rotated so the particles move in a spiral as they move towards the other. I had the particles emit random colours from a colour ramp on the shaders and had the motion blur turned up really high to create the lines. I also had the colour on "standard" mode not "filmic" in the render settings. I also put some wobble and colour correction effects using davinci resolve. There are good tutorials out there for how to have particles move from one object to another and then mess around with the colours and motion blur. Hopefully this points you in the right direction! Good luck :)

The colored spiral looks great, but the theme is a big iffy. The bassline pretty much drowns out the main melody entirely. The theme almost sounds too "busy," as if it's a bunch of different variations on the theme all playing at once.
I don't disagree but could I ask what speakers or headphones you were listening on?

Concept is good, love the visuals, way too long though, Doctor Who intros are at most like 30 seconds.
Hi, this is like an extended full theme version to include the middle 8 section. Lots of my other projects have received many comments asking for an extended version so I decided to try one! Hope that makes sense, this is obviously too long for the TV intro.
@@BanthaBoii also enjoy longer versions of the titles, had a go at a couple myself! i think it would be super neat if you cut it down to the essentials with slightly different transitions to blend it properly tho, and had that as a separate thing, to show how it would look if it was the real thing that they ended up using!
