Thank you so much! Great tips! I discovered one. If you are in a meeting/lecture and they have a powerpoint and you're taking a few notes in Notes. When you have a slide with lots of information or points that you want to record quickly try this. Go to the bottom of the note, take a picture of the text on the slide, the photo will appear in the note, hold down your finger on the text in the photo and it should bring up... copy | select all | look up. Select and copy the text. Paste the text into the note and delete the photo. Super slick.
About a decade ago I tried using Notes and soured on it after it twice completely lost all my notes irretrievably. The new version of Notes seems much more robust and powerful. I’ve tried using Notion and other complex apps but honestly just never found a use case for them. Watching your video, I got very “meta” and made a Note about Notes! Great videos!

Also, i had subscriptions models all over the place. I did some hard soul searching and decided to go from Evernote to Apple Notes, from Microsoft 365 Office to Apple's native Pages and Numbers etc.. I use "section break" (a line) in Evernote inside all my notes to separate content while keeping the content on the same note. I can only tear myself away from Evernote and move to Apple Notes once Apple has this feature. Does Apple Notes have this?

I love Apple Notes and would like to migrate my notes from Evernote to Notes. My issue is that Notes seems to be a storage hog. For less than 1000 notes it is taking 8 GB of phone storage. Any tips?
I’ve used obsidian for a couple of years now for work stuff, but always used apple notes for personal and family things (mostly so I could share with my spouse and because Apple Notes works so well on my iPhone). However, I’ve found the mobile friendliness of Notes and tight integration within the Apple ecosystem has me going for notes as opposed to Obsidian.
I'm in the same situation. Using Apple Notes for family and Obsidian for personal and university stuff. But wondering if could be the case to use only Apple Notes and to ditch Obsiand. For me, sometimes it feels like Obsidian is prettier and with more functions/plugin, but in the end it is a matter of loosing time when a plain text with minor formatting would do the task just right anyway.
@@nicolozss for me it really has come down to speed and integration on mobile and iPad. I LOVE Obsidian, but it just isn't a smooth experience on Mobile. Even with Obsidian Sync, I find that it takes quite a bit of time to sync all my files when opening the app, especially if there have been a number of changes. In addition, when I have quick notes on Apple Notes and the easy ability to add rich links into notes and other little niceties, it makes Apple Notes a more compelling case. I have been trying this week to JUST use Apple Notes (for everything) and it has worked quite well so far. To replace daily notes, I just add meeting note links to my calendar appointments. But using quick notes for everything has been the real killer feature.

Another nice job young lady. I just previously watched your Notes overview video. This one compliments that one so well. I have been using notes for several months now and find it my go to note taker for Bible study. I also use Pages and like it. I use Numbers and find it severely deficient as compared to Excel. Pages has no cell painter, that works well, to copy formatting from on cell to many cells. Also when I refresh a pivot table in Numbers the cell formatting and row heights change for the new rows. Seems to be very buggy. I wish Apple would stop with the wiz bank new technology and just get the basics right. But I digress. I like your thoughtful presentations. Easy to follow, examples and pleasant presentation. I look forward to learning from your videos. Nick
I use Notes on my phone all the time and the single most frustrating thing is how when I dictate it shows bold and large, but then defaults back to non-bold and a minute font! Is there any way to adjust that?
i think it’s because the dictation is starting in the title line, which is the first line of the note. so by default it starts in the title font and then changes to the body font. try giving the note a title before starting the dictation or in settings>notes you can change the default so that the note starts with ‘body’ instead of ‘title’. hope this helps 🙏🏻
@@brooketierney the body still goes down to a very very tiny font, mono style bold is as good as it gets for clarity. I use this to communicate with my mother who is completely deaf and her vision is impaired so I would really like this font to be largeras I dictate notes to her
I love Notes. (Still waiting for stretch to zoom tho.) My mini to Pro view handwriting can be a bit small. Notes is for Notes and it works wonderfully. It can be a yellow sticky note or used for a short journal entry ... doodling, thumbnails, etc. Snap a pic of some object, write some text around it, and quick send / share it as a PDF to someone's phone.
I don't understand why Apple didn't solve my problem: once you created a note with a image inside, you cannot modify the size of the image afterwords as you wish. You can only choose between small or great (and thet is for all the images in the samen note). So when I have a note with some pictures in it, when I print the note it is way too long. Why is it impossible to change the size? Does an alternative exists?

I need help! My note changed and it made the paragraphs in blocks and added lines. Now I can get it back. It won’t even copy like it used to. It only copies in the blocks it made. I can’t copy ALL.

Can you search a specific word in documents you have in your note app. I constantly review documents and I search for certain words to speed it along. Example. Pathology report… can I search it

They screwed up notes. I use to easily be able to write on any pdfs and now it automatically types anything I write or stupidly summons the keyboard as I write. Frustrating

4:01 Please Apple we need sort by size. Sometimes we need to delete large scans or notes and after 3K notes, it’s hard to find old large notes to make space. So either give us AI assistance in keeping our files and devices slim or give us better sorting features.

hmm, I would check to see if there's an update for MacOS Sonoma to download on your Mac and make sure Pages app is installed/updated. hopefully that helps!
Being an exclusive iPad user, after all these years of Apple updates, NOTES inexplicably continues to lack FIVE day in-day out functions for importing text to create and format any note: 1) A " Paste Unformatted Text " feature which strips everything-links, font style, color, size, bold & italic-out to just raw text. 2) A " Change Case " option to remove ALL CAPS or convert to Every Word Cap 3) A " Format " feature that displays a permanent, always available " B - I - U" icon for keeping the desired text selected while assigning it any combined number of Bold/Italic/Underline formatting 4) A " Line Break " option for selecting a word to continue a paragraph on a new line 5) A " Multiple UNDO " -at least more than just 1...10 or even 5 would be a much welcomed increase
For pasting unformatted text try hold the shift + option + command keys together with the V key. Works in many applications to paste unformatted text I use this constantly

Which is why either a pop-up before pasting could ask whether the paste should retain it's formatting or get pasted stripped of it...or an icon could provide access to that UI option.

Still a long way to go to get anywhere near Google Notes which is like Apple Notes and Apple Reminders combined. As much as I like Apple, their Notes, Reminders and Maps are just not as good as their Android versions.
Billion dollar global insight for movie, anime, real life or thesis - why not implement a feature in Apple notes app, PDF preview, where user can click on a page in the preview and keyboard shortcut (or double click or CMD+left click?) to “Quick Look” the page in full screen. Keyboard shortcut again to exit the “quick look” and back to preview.

Really nice video (until the "Notion" spiel 😜). With links, you can also add one to an empty space, I find this very helpful.

The one big feature that I don't see is the automatic backlink created when you create a link. That would be the most perfect feature to add.

Still a long way to go to get anywhere near Google Notes which is like Apple Notes and Apple Reminders combined. As much as I like Apple, their Notes, Reminders and Maps are just not as good as their Android versions.

as long as your iPad supports and is updated with the latest iPadOS you should be good to go!
Billion dollar global insight for movie, anime, real life or thesis - why not implement a feature in Apple notes app, PDF preview, where user can click on a page in the preview and keyboard shortcut (or double click or CMD+left click?) to “Quick Look” the page in full screen. Keyboard shortcut again to exit the “quick look” and back to preview.
Just give me two-/three-finger tap to undo/redo already. Sheesh Apple.
