"If you don't think riding anything because your boring." Your the best. Also basically what I've said to like at least twenty people by now lol.

Belmont Park is literally on the beach. The only thing that separates the area where the rides are from the beach are the buildings where the shops and arcades are. The parking lot isn't between the beach and the park, it's also along the beach.

Part of the parking lot runs between the Giant Dipper and the Ocean on one side. That's what I was referring to.

Rode the big dipper last March. It's fast but omg extremely herky jerky. I love roller coasters. I'm not young anymore at 53. Not sure i could do it two times in a row without being bed ridden. The park is next to Pacific Beach. I think a must do if in the area.

This is certainly a fun roller coaster. Even though it's old and small, it still really packs a punch!

I wish everyone could have experienced Belmont Park in the 1960s. As a kid growing up at the beach, it was absolutely amazing.

Wow! Wasn't expecting you to do my hometown little boardwalk park here in San Diego! We mostly think the place is kinda "meh!"...the rest is corny and a bit skeazy

I went here when I was 12 and I was obsessed with the Lazer Maze thing. That's literally all I did the whole time.

OMG OMG OMG... I have been living in San Diego since 2003 and I just found about this park by accident today (7.10.2018)!!!

I went there through 1974-1976 and there were no buildings south of the Giant Dipper. There was no parking lot on that side and there used to be tons of rides everywhere. They eventually built a parking lot in front of the Giant Dipper where there used to be a car ride. The City wanted to demolish Belmont Park but the citizens of San Diego stood tall and now it's a historical landmark.

I live like 30 minutes away from this park, it's really just a fun park to check in and ride a ride or two. I don't really eat there I go to the WaveHouse next door if it's not too busy. Glad you enjoyed it!

So are you going to do a coaster review on the Giant Dipper of Belmont Park in San Diego California. Also how about a separate review of the Giant Dipper of Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in Santa Cruz California so that you don't want people get confused on which giant dipper is which.

  • @nateranda

I wish I had something like this near where I live. The closest park to our house is Six Flags NE, (which is two hours away) and we don't go there often, just once a year.

I liked the Big Dipper a lot. Also was a pretty fun, if short, zipline in the area by the rockwall.

Boardwalk is not just a wood plank walk way on a beach. Belmont is directly on the concrete 3mile long Boardwalk that is directly on the beach. It is surrounded by mission bay park. The City owns Belmont Park., it is leased to companies to run. I live near the park. Ride a bike a the boardwalk ans stop by and ride the Dipper. The Dipper re-opened in 1990 after the city let the park fall into disrepair. It was like a homeless shelter, and they caused the Dipper to catch fire in 1989 or so. There is a wave house fake surf wave to surf and new restaurants on the boardwalk with good food and drinks. The Plunge swimming pool which sits in the middle of the park is closed for restoration. The park was built in 1925 by the Spreckels Sugar founder. BTW. He was the 1st person to be called a "Sugar Daddy"

I have been on the Sister Coaster Big Dipper in Santa Cruz California. I grew up in the Bay Area so I have been on it many times. PS the Boardwalk stinks there.

I saw you at SixFlags Great America over this past summer and I really wanted to say hi to you, you were by the American Eagle and you were with around 30 or 40 people, I'm a big fan so I wanted to talk to you but I was scared so I waited till you went in and i followed you in, when we stopped their was about 10 or 7 people infront of me to you and right then some guy said "I'm with them and pointed at you and cut me, they pushed me away and went infront of me, I was really sad so I left and went home because I was uber sad.

    • @CoasterStudios
      @CoasterStudios  7 лет назад +1

I'm sorry, wish you had said something. The reason you saw me with so many people at American Eagle was because I had a meet up there. I invited everyone to meet me there at a certain time and we could all hang out together. Everyone there was a fellow enthusiasts and if you had said something and we had known you were wanting to talk to me, you would've been able to.
