I spent my whole childhood looking at that coaster when it was closed, and dreaming of what it would be like to ride it. Then one day I stared at it, and a train went by. I lost it. The ride has been kept alive by people who love it.
You're both wonderful. Thanks for taking us there.

Anakin Plays Did you live in the area, or were you a frequent tourist like me? I was on the beach at the Bahia resort when I saw the train go by. I was staring at it, because it looked less burned out. The last time I was down there, they were re-tracking it.

I remember going there when I was a little kid in the late 60's. I actually rode in the original coaster seats. I visited SD this summer and brought my friend's kids and they loved it!

I had always been scared of the ride at 3:00, but when I rode it it was a blast! The Belmont park is a lot of fun!

That roller coaster is anything but smooth. It goes pretty fast but herky jerky like no other. When it came to an end my daughter looked at me in amazement. I said if i didn't have back problems i prob do now. Still fun to do though. Only one as rough is the one at NY NY in Las Vegas. SD Pacific Beach is awesome.

When I visited this park on December 31st, 2012, I only got to ride Beach Blaster and Giant Dipper. I loved Beach Blaster but HATED Giant Dipper, it was so rough when I rode it. Then again, I never really liked any wooden coaster until I really became a coaster enthusiast, so I would love to come back and try out some of the insane rides here!

I’ve been there in 1975. Most of the square footage now was made into a parking lot and they added the plunge and other buildings. There was so much more park there back then. It’s all crammed in now.

I love this place. I was blown away with how great this place was. My favorite ride was the control freak which was actually really fun.

LOVED going here growing up. Just a 15 minute drive and we would always get the wristbands and ride the coaster over and over until our heads hurt.

In 1959, Mom forgot she was pregnant, and went for a ride on the great dipper. I was born 5 weeks early, April 13,1960. What a beginning. That was after driving Route 66, in a 57 Chevy Nomad from Illinois. They slept in a tent accessory on top, with grandpa, and other two kids, sleeping inside at night. Exciting!

$6.00 to ride the roller coaster? When I was a teenager, it cost $2.75 to get into the park, and ride everything all day.
The roller coaster, the wildmouse, the Himalaya, the Spoof Safari. . .
    Great times, them.

It is not 6.00 dollars. Now it is about 20 dollars for an all day pass to everything. Although it is 6 tickets.

Nice video! Ravine Flyer is I think about $4.50, but the real winner is the Phoenix at Knoebels for $3.00 a ride. I got a chance to ride the Giant Dipper at night on a quick trip that I had to San Diego and was surprised by how smooth the ride was.

    Ravine Flyer II!
    sorta.. lol
You can get 10 ride points for $10 and the coaster is 4.5 points to ride... But it's sorta because you HAVE to pay at least $10 to ride.. but you could spend less than half your $10 value on a single ride :p
