I put a 31 and 72 in mine just now with a 2 cell. Holly crap. I don't have a gps but I know it's in the high 40s or mid 50s . At least . I have a cheap brushless system in it .4300 kv motor and it's good with a 3 cell. I did have a 3 cell in it for two passes . It started to float bad. Would have to do some body mods to keep it on the road . I'm just getting into this hobby. I also have a bandit that I have been messing with. That thing is crazy. I think you were the one that got me to start playing with that. I put some weight on the front of it and still can't keep the front down . I went side by side with a friends car and at about 74 or so I still had more to give . Keep these videos up .they help me a lot .let me know what you come up with for gears on the rally. I'm looking for about 50 or 60 mph with mine with a 2 cell. But the bandit I'm going to make it as fast as I can. Cheaply .
Slipper clutch gave me the same problem when I got mine. Put a slash slipper clutch in there. No problem now but I did put 17 tooth pinion on with a spektrum esc and motor
I dropped the arrma 6s system from my infraction into mine and maxed out the motor plate adjustment by installing the biggest pinion I could. It runs 87mph on 4s all day long. I'm scared to run a 6s with the junk tires. I'm waiting on my adapters so I can run a set of hoons on it.
Slash 4x4 Ultimate VXL stock gearing is 13/54 will do 45 easy with 3s lipo. Came with 18T optional gear for 60mph with 3s. Watch the motor temps if using 17/18t
Hmmm... I've got a complete VXL system w/ the speed pinion out of a Bandit ready to go... 33t pinion, 76t spur. Really wonder how this car would handle it?
Not sure lol, I had to take out the original slipper because it melted when I changed out the brushed for a vxl system, I threw in a center diff with a 11 tooth pinion and a 54 tooth spur, it wasn’t fast enough for me lol, so I put a 13 tooth pinion in instead and now I’m hitting close to 60mph!
@@rcreviews9894 Sounds awesome!!! I'm the type of person that gears down and runs on 2s hahaha. 30-35mph is my sweet spot I think. I say I think because I don't know exactly how fast my rigs go, don't own a gps lol.
@@swololikesolo1625 yeah before I used to rely on the Traxxas telemetry using the app but I found out that it’s not accurate at all, so now I use a gps, I get much more accurate speeds that way, this isn’t the last of the old rally, I will make another run video after I gear it up some more and get it where I want it
@@swololikesolo1625 there are only certain cars in my Arsenal that I really go the extra mile to get it going as fast as possible, all my other Rc’s are good stock for what I use them for, mainly bashing
My guess was 35 mph, 36 isn't bad, that's way better then stock. 45+ mph would be pretty sweet you should try to get it just over 55 mph, Keep up the great work.

@@rcreviews9894 I'm doing okay, had to get another surgery last friday the (20th) after the dr. found a mass just a little smaller in diameter then a quarter a couple of weeks ago took samples, sent it to Hawaii for screening and it was cancerous, so he advised me to have it removed, I just got out of the hospital yesterday and so far I'm doing okay 👍🏻. Thanks for sharing brother, always a pleasure to watch your vids !
I have a hobby wing max10 running 2s with a locked 38p 54t slipper and a 15t pinion and I’m getting 37mph with my 2s, I’m waiting on a 3 and 4s battery to come in the mail I expect speeds in the 60s
Yeah it’s a 48 pitch and to be honest the rally is geared way down, you would be lucky to hit 20 mph out of the box, I’m running a 13/54 gear ratio with a center diff instead of a slipper, 50 is about where I’m hitting now
Well your definitely gonna need a 3s lipo, your gonna want to gear up, I went from 48 pitch gears to 32 pitch, I also threw in a center diff, I can’t remember what gearing I was using in this video but currently I’m running a 13/54 ratio and I run it like a street car, I also switched to a TQi receiver, stock receiver is pretty bad with range, you can play around with the gearing to find that sweet spot and depending where you plan to run it, keep an eye out on motor temps🤙

I first started with a 3800 kv from castle. Mod .8 gears. Try 15/54 and work from there. My sweet spot with that system was 17/50 on 3s no heating issues. Recently switched to a 550 2800kv.

Huh, mine runs 40mph on 2S with 32p gears (13/54) 5200KV cheap chinese brushless, gets a little warm after about 10 minutes of running hard, probably a hair over geared for the 5200kv (looks at least as peppy as yours, no offense intended)

I prioritize acceleration over top speed a lot of the time.
