I saw something like the Daiko in China, however the guy showed up on an e-bike and folded it up and put it into the trunk of our car. When we got home he took the bike out and rode away. It's the most amazing service and I love it! I wish we had in US cities.

Hi Paolo, fun video. The "San Francisco" part of the mint chip ice cream is because Blue Seal is an American company that came to Okinawa in 1948. Some of the blue seal restaurants to provide food, they also give a free scoop of ice cream two days out of each month!! You looked so tired at the beginning of the video, I felt bad for all of your delays! next time you come down, let me know and we can treasure hunt together! cricket
Glad you had a good time in Okinawa! About the shisa, they are almost always set up in pairs near an entrance with one with its mouth open and the other with its mouth closed. The one with the mouth open is to welcome in good spirits while the one with the mouth closed is to ward off the evil spirits. Oh, and Blue Seal does actually have more than ice cream! The smaller shops are just ice cream, but the larger ones have all kinds of food including burgers and even spaghetti! I have to say though, the burgers aren't anything to write home about, but still cool that they serve it.

I was stationed @ Kadena AFB some years ago, WOW, really miss the Chubu and Ginowan areas, you should of checked out some of the old castle ruins around there; really miss that place, the beach and skimboarding along the beach.
