We loved Okinawa! We lived there twice - once for four years and once for three years. The Okinawans are absolutely wonderfully hospitable and courteous. We have been forever impacted by our time living there. We miss it so much.

My best friend is going to Okinawa and I plan on going next year to visit. I've already been to Tokyo, Yokohama, and Roppongi and I even went to Disney land and sea, I've never been to Disneyland and in a million years I never thought my first Disney experience would be in Japan. would be cool to visit somewhere i havent been before in Japan. And Its definitely worth the visit btw. Just remember... Be respectful of the culture, Don't be obnoxious on trains and don't liter. Learn some basic Japanese as many do not know english. Japan is definitely worth a visit

Konichiwa ! Guys, really enjoy your channel. My wife and two children lived in Okinawa from 2003 to 2012. It was the best experience of our lives. We learned to snorkel, scuba dive and enjoy the wonderful people and food of Okinawa. One of our favorite memories is eating at Marutaka Soba in Nago. Next time you visit, you should check it out. They have moved to a different location than the one we ate at (it was next to the Blue Seal on 58, right before you enter Naha, past the tourist center). You might also want to due a "castle tour" as there are so many of those in Okinawa...just a thought. I really enjoy watching your videos, as it takes me back to one of the best times of our lives! Regards...mb

I love Okinawa do not get me wrong, I was stationed there twice for a total of 9.5 years, both of my children were born while we were there so we have strong ties to the island. But if you want to see history , see real authentic temples. and a city with even food that has history then Kyoto is the place to visit. Okinawa has beautiful water and beaches and great weather but if you want to see real Japan it has to be Kyoto.@@bebemax95

9:13 ... as a Nebraskan that just visited both Tokyo and Oki, I understood this PERFECTLY: just change the item to "New York Strip".... New York made it famous (or infamous, depends on your budget) ....but the best "New York Strips" are in Nebraska/Iowa/Etc...... and for far less than 1/2 the cost, just like the famous stuff in Tokyo is very expensive and not as good at the hardscrabble Mom and Pop market of Okinawa ... Competition breeds Excellence .... Oki has better food than Tokyo, Dollar for Dollar, by FAR.

I really love Okinawa and wanna go back again "but" I can not recomment it to people vitising Japan for the first time if they love Japan and want to see the "real" Japan as Okinawa is actually very different from most of Japan, even the people are different (not bad at all but different)
For everyone who was in Japan before or just want to see a tropical island or as I did with my first time on Okinawa want to combine Beach holiday with at least "some" Japan this is just perfect.
Also about the Sata Andagi, some of the small shops in the market sell beni imo version of sata andagi which I love a lot, sadly those have so much sugar but it tastes good. I also tried two different shikuwasa drinks and neither me nor my gf actually liked it ... hat to throw both away
