one of the most entertaining things about this game in VR is the fact that holding the knife blocks most attacks (outside of grabs), so a way to efficiently defend yourself against zombies is to use snakes (from metal gear) CQC stance where he holds the gun in one hand and the knife in the other.

@@josemesa2934it’s psvr2 exclusive but if your pc is beefy enough you can mod the steam version of re4r, I’ve managed to get Re2 and 7 running but my laptop can’t handle them well enough for my taste

A lot of great games from Meta & Sony this year. As a player of all 3, I can’t wait to see what comes to VR next year.
But that distribution model sucks ofc. Buy ps5 and psvr2 for RE4VR, buy PS4 and PSVR1 for RE7VR and both headsets have zero other possibilities. It s like buying new PC for every single new game in Steam. In other side we have quest 3 and PCVR that can run everything but we have only HL Alyx and nothing else AAA to run on it
Also, remember you can roundhouse kick when enemies are staggered. Having turned off button prompts you may have forgotten about this.
That's one thing I didn't like about RE 8, they gave Ethan training buuuut...he's no Leon.
I brought my psvr2 as soon as they announced the VR mode and in that time I’ve come across some other great VR games but this weekend I cannot wait to dive into this, I didn’t even complete the main game because I wanted to experience it in VR

@@dratelectasis the gameplay is just super janky and less fun for a vr title then re 4 with the kicking and stabbing, and re8 is less linear and more like a open ended game so the puzzles are more confusing and leads to headaches especially in a vr title where you really feel that and can’t even look stuff up on RUclips while in vr, also the graphics are kinda terrible and it’s way more blurry then re 4, it’s also super hard to read stuff without getting a literal migraine.

Same, I returned my PSVR2 after a couple of days but im starting to miss the feeling. I think Im gonna get one, mainly for GT7 but I really want to play the exclusives like RE8 and RE4 in VR. I really hope we get more high budget games for the PSVR2, as much as I love the indie games we get on Quest nothing really beats the impressiveness of high budget titles. But how many do we even have for PSVR2? Only one that comes ot mind is the Horizon Call of the Mountain. Re4 and Re8 exists but they werent built from the ground up for VR like the horizon game was

The HDR/high brightness has a big negative impact on motion clarity unfortunately, since you have to have the VR2 brightness dial set to 75-100%. Can't have a nice bright HDR image with blur-free VR motion clarity. But everybody has their preference. If Capcom allowed for SDR, we could drop the VR2 brightness slider down much lower and get greater motion clarity, but with a dimmer picture. Double edged sword at the end of the day.
Anyways, RE4: VR mode is fantastic, especially during the Village and Castle sections, but I've become so accustomed to the incredible blur-free(or nearly blur free) motion clarity of Quest 3 that going back to PSVR2 is just jarring. I wish RE4: VR mode on PSVR2 had an SDR mode, the ability to disable tunnel vision when crouching, 3rd person stealth/knife take downs and most importantly 90fps when the PS5 Pro arrives by the end of the ear, which will eliminate that nasty 60fps motion duplication reprojection effect, and make the motion in general just smoother and more life like. Also, the Jet Ski tilt based motion stearing during the final 10 minutes of the game were just awful.
However, controller the Village boat when roaming around the lake and caverns during the village section was an absolute blast!
I am 38, and we are never too old to play video games! I loved this game. You should try [Afterlife VR] that game is creepy!
Quick tip: If you grab at the top of your head you can grab the flashlight and use it, you can even change its rotation, don’t know why this wasn’t a tutorial
Also pressing triangle turns it on and off in areas where you can use it, hope this helps anyone who sees it.
Wow, THANK YOU!! Been playing for hours and I had no clue! I have up trying to grab it off my chest and somehow never hit triangle when applicable. I was very sad when I couldn't do my best Alan Wake impression...

Village, based on what I've played beats out RE4: VR mode, when it comes to the level of interaction, amazing cast of villains, not knowing where the plot is heading and because it's more of a survival-horror traditional RE experience. AND, When the enemies get up close and in your face in Village the 3D effect seems to be maxed. In RE4: VR mode, it feels like Capcom dialed it back just a bit for whatever reason. I've also beaten RE4: VR mode, and I'd say it's a solid 8 to an 8.5/10 VR experience.
I think it's incredibly strong during the Village and Castle sections, but loses a bit of steam once you make it to the Island. The motion based jet ski controls during the final 10 minutes of the game were also pretty awful, the knife take downs looked janky, it suffers from poor 60fps motion duplication reprojection, the game forces HDR which hurts the motion clarity(Can't have high brightness and great motion clarity on PSVR2) and doesn't support SDR, I wish they would of disabled tunnel vision when crouching(Like in village) and throwing your knife is not as accurate as it is in village either. A lot of the larger out doors areas drop in resolution too(Since VR IS a power hog), it's also missing those incredible storm effects like the ground fog and extra hail from the flat screen version too.
@@NeonPizza80s 2 paragraphs and all i see is yap yap yap played both re8 and re4, re8 has better vr interactions and overall setting and backdrops. i love the gothic feel of re8. re4 beats it every other way, better progression, better knife, better characters, better dialogue, better protagonist, better weapons, better level design, more content, better boss fights, better plot.

Village was the worst experience I've had in VR to date. It was fucking awful. Couldn't play more than 20 minutes before uninstalling it. Everything was painfully obvious it wasn't made for VR. The gunplay was absolutely dire jank.
That boss fight with "Del Lago" in VR is intense 😊
I cant believe all the little neat details left out of this version. Like when the items float up so you can grab them on the quest. Its alittle surprising

I played this in easy mode...brought all my upgraded weapons and am now playing in professional mode. This game is amazing..and it keeps on giving😀
I got the vr add-on today. It's so awesome! Fighting is so much easier with vr controls!
you can actually grab the flashlight from your head which is a great mechanic for those who would like to hold one
I wish capcom would port these vr modes to pc, but we got community mods to help with that
So glad we got this gem on VR, although I do wish they adjusted the knife slightly. Personally preferred the slashing mechanic of the original RE4 VR, this version feels like you can just stick the knife in their back and just wiggle wiggle for maximum carnage XD

i had the psvr2 in my hands at BestBuy 3 days ago... fortunately for me, i wised up at the last second, and put that "fad" right back on the shelf and saved me some $600.. $500 i paid for ps5, and now i gotta pay another $600 for psvr2??? no thanks... i have better ways to spend $600
Just so you know the reprojection isn't great on psvr2,sonys implementation isn't that good but a few devs said they are working on updates for the foveated rendering and reprojection so it should get better.

Just played 2 hours on re4 vr2 and is amazing especially since i have everything unlock like the special wepons and also have my cat ear
In the regular game you can shoot the bell and that will distract them and move you on to the next part. I wonder if you can do that on psvr2 🤔 definitely gonna try it 😂
It’s pretty amazing the only thing I don’t like is the rifle it’s shaky and blurry when looking in the scope. Dunno if it’s me or needs an update but I didn’t have this problem in village
I'm having the same exact issue playing through right now. Doing any of the shooting range challenges with the scoped rifle is a major headache in particular.

You can only shoot the bell in ng+ using the Sniper rifle or Rocket Launcher

You can grab the torch and hold it in your hand if you want. You can even turn it around so you can hold it in one hand and steady the gun on that arm.

Bloody hell… I actually only played the remake (am 33) somehow never had the guts to play them on ps2… got myself a meta quest 3 and will give this another spin 😂😊
On my vr playthrough the chainsaw guy killed me as the freaking bell was ringing. I had to do the entire sequence over.
I've played the original on every form of media its released on including the quest 2, its as if the game was meant for VR (the original) now i need a ps5 to play the remake in VR.
Yeah. They dont like to mention that every Sony VR game needs its own headset and console. so its not 60 bucks but ~1000$ for a single game.

Yup specially Meta this last 2-3 months absolutely nailed VR games with Assassin Creed, Asghard wraith 2, Dungeons Eternity and all the MR experiences....

FYI You can pull the torch of your head and use it as normal, but it’ll only work in the dark areas
i was having issues with blurriness until i recalibrated my eye tracking, it seemed to help a lot

Can you play this game in VR while sitting down? I can't reload any of my guns while sitting down because I can't reach the ammo pouch on Leon's vest. My hand simply can't reach the bullets while I'm sitting down. And this isn't an issue exclusive to RE4 Remake. Other games like "Runners" makes it impossible to properly interact with the UI. I'm positioned in a way that My hands can't reach the buttons in the environment around me. How do I fix all of these issues.

Im a little disappointed by the psvr2. There is a weird graininess over the image when youre wearing the headset that isnt as bad in the last generation meta headset. It feels cheaper and flimsier than my meta 2 despite being like twice the price. It is more comfortable on your head than meta 2 tho and has better accessories to block out periferal light. The eye tracking is amazing to me, you can literally pick options on your menu screen with just your eyes and accurately. And id pay anything for Resident Evil anything so im happy to play it but mainly im actually taken aback by how grainy and pixelated the image is. Games are way overpriced, for new games they are basically experimenting with they still want $40-$60 per small name title. Also its weird it doesnt have backwards compatibility. I wanted to try Skyrim VR but ive heard its not very good and theyre also still charging $60 for it on the Playstation store. Sonys not being very customer friendly with VR right now imo. And i say that because i love how often Playstation gives great deals on games etc compared to Steam or Nintendo Store

@@kato093 RE7 by praydog is better than RE7 on Psvr . I finished the game on the rtx 4090 and varjo Aero and had a blast !

I found in ps2 version Goin into shotgun house will trigger the chainsaw guy so I learned to fight 1st then go I'm the buildings. Not sure if it's ant different on other versions or not.

I wont lie. The VR port DOES feel rushed. A lot of things could be polished. But for a rushed project... This is fabulous. Maybe not worth the extra hundreds of $ to drop on. but but it is a reason to.

Just found out this was a thing and I'm now going to pretend it doesn't exist as you're supposed to with trash exclusives :D. Hopefully the modding community will fix this problem.

just about to jump into my first run in the remake bummer you cant switch saves from psvr to flat game. But i guess its a tech issue with loading assets and interacting with a VR save enviroment to a flat save.
