This was such a helpful tip! I got my first pair (just transitioned to barefoot shoes in October) and they were definitely a shock to my feet. Hopefully I can work up to wearing them more! 😊

I got the thinnest sole and it was still too thick for me and not wide enough. My hack: I took the strap off and put it - easily - onto a 4mm sole from a Xero Shoes self-assembly Huarache kit. Not sure Xero sell those kits anymore - they don't here in the UK - but one could probably do the same with some other kind of strong rubber. In the meantime, until that sole runs out, I've got the perfect pair of barefoot sandals.
I don't think the earthing pin works, though. I tested it out with a ground tester and it seemed not to be doing anything.

This is the most painful strap I had to return these it was too painful rubbing my skin

Seems funny to need to diy so much after you bought a pair that’s meant to be barefoot wear. Hope it’s cheap…

you don't "need" to diy anything. sewing the toe strap is optional. cutting the laces once for a customized fit is not unreasonable.
