I’ve ordered a pair of earth runners and a pair of Luna sandals recently. Should be getting them soon . I have a pair of Xero sandals that have been good . Definitely into the minimalist shoe/ sandal thing . My body likes them .
Funny I saw your vivo review and was going to suggest these. I also have been in minimal shoes for 3.5 years and got these about 8 months ago, especially in the summer I'm not wearing anything else. They are as you say, good on water / muddy trails, trail running, and just around town. Love the hemp upper too, keeps grip when wet.
“I never realized how alive you can feel by freeing your feet” IT IS SO TRUE! I am only just starting to tentatively spend the money on switching to barefoot shoes, but I’ve been going barefoot everywhere possible for most of my life, and it is so FREEING.
I am known to wear Jesus sandals and I have found these and have had mine for a month now and I love them! Worn them to work, worn them in the lake, I even run with my dog in them. After I get off of work today I am hiking Mary Jane Falls in them to test them out, out there. I highly recommend them and they are so darn cute looking with many different color straps!
You seem like EXACTLY the kind of person I could be best friends with 😄 It’s so rare that I find someone else who seems as joyful about life and as full of laughter and smiles as I am! You seem energetic yet super chill - we’d get along splendidly.
I love my sandals too! They actually shipped within a couple days-while I was still having email conversations with customer service to make sure I got the right size. I had no worries, the size shipped fit perfectly. I don't find them particularly noisy-my flops are waaaaay noisier. Thanks for the great videos!
Does anyone notice for all these companies that tell you barefoot is so much better then having all that extra cushion , they still have the same price tag as the shoes with all that cushion. I've been trying to get into barefoot shoes but these"earth runners"; a piece of material and some webbing are my absolute limit . 90 dollars for almost nothing. I already hate the shoe market and this stupid trend only gives companies more of a way to rip the same cash with less resources. I buy Columbia sandles for 45 bucks and that's still too much in my opinion. I don't care what over the top health foot propaganda these RUclipsrs have to say. This is the same exact way every single company gets into the same game. Make a product better then the ones before and charge whatever for no reason. Have you ever heard of XERO SHOES ? It's a great company and they have Barefoot minimalist sandal and I love them. Good quality and great prices too. 😀 👣 ❤
I have the Vivobarefoot Scotts, Ra 2, Primus Lites, and Primus Trail FG. For some odd reason the boots and dressier shoes have a wider toe box, which I love. But the sports/activity shoes are more narrow and you'll feel it when your feet starts to splay more (my pinky toes hurt). I've tried running in the Primus Trail FG and Lites and did not like the feeling. Also, Vivobarefoot needs to have better quality control, I've had to go through the hassle of exchanging pairs in the past. I wear my skinners to run and they feel great. With that being said, I bought my first pair of Xero Prios and they are wide at the toe box and are super comfortable. They are my go to shoes for walking but I have not used them to run in yet.
Whenever I have my sandals on, I have to force myself to not take them off and then take them off afterwards, so I just hardly ever wear them in the first place and to barefoot like normal.
Do they have sandals for more narrow feet, for folx who still need to expand their smushed feet? Haha I think suuuuuper wide toe box would look weird af on my teeny tiny feet.
You know how you rub a balloon on your hair or socks on the carpet or shirt whatever, and you become statically charged? If you stand there that charge dissapates. That requires no grounding materials. This is why those working with high voltage must wear truly non grounding shoes, or use platforms. Mostly all materials move charge between them, small or not, things come to a stable equilibrium, and charge changes all the time, with normal shoes or no shoes. Just gotta becareful with claims about health and grounding and electrons, without good science to back up such claims. Thousands will sell you x and say it does y, without any evidence. They're sick sandles and great review man. But the grounding aspect had no scientific backing for anything related to antioxidants, I mean which antioxidants? Was there a study with good science, repeated and peer reviewed? Or is this a hypothesis with minimal testing? It's marketing, unless we have evidence of some kind to support their hypothesis. Ideas are cool that innovate, but you're grounded man with whatever shoes you wear, that's why you die if you have just a few milliamps pass through you and the ground.
Hey, Dmitri! Good point. You are grounded with any shoes, but you are "more grounded" with a more conductible shoe like this sandal or any other with copper, for example... I did a test in home. With a normal "nike shoes" or any flip flop, my voltage was around 1~2v, but if a lift my feet of the ground, my voltage was around 3v... But with this grounding shoes, my voltage was around 0.3~0.1v... So despite every shoe is conductible, they are not good conductible. If I touch my notebook with my feet away from the floor, my voltage is around astonishing 15v, but with regular flip flop is around 7v and with a grounding shoe it's 1~2v if my feet are inside the house or 0,3v if my feet is directly on the earth. There is a nice article about grounding "J Inflamm Res. 2015; 8: 83-96. doi: 10.2147/JIR.S69656" . It's well written and peer-reviewed.
@@kefirmomo1570 The authors of that paper are all contractors for a company that sells grounding products (and sponsors this research..), and two of the authors own shares in it. Can't believe I'm just now stumbling upon this video... Been into the minimalist/barefoot shoe thing for a while and have been modifying vintage styles of sneakers - Went with the Luna sandals last year which I love but the rubber footbed gives me blisters when I run in them - bought the Bedrock sandals but those things are way to narrow - Was thinking of making my own and wanting to figure out how to ground them as well.... AND here we are - I could have just went with these all along - These are my next purchase :)
Why use sandals instead of actually barefoot? I think in nature we should be able to use are feet actually as intended, I'm just starting my barefoot journey, having bought my first pair of barefoot shoes last year. I completely understand the need for foot ware when in public spaces, it's what our society has deemed the norm. But when hiking, or doing other wildlife activities, why? is it to be more protected from sharp rocks and objects on the ground? I am genuinely curious and ask wanting to learn something.
How did you handle the discomfort in between your toes on the thong section of the laces? I’ve been using my sandals and they are painful even after loosening the laces .
This is interesting, I personally have experienced no pain :( otherwise I would’ve mentioned it. I would experiment with a few things. Try giving them a break from wearing them. Then try wearing them again and do this periodically to break the sandals in. Your feet might just have to adapt to the new “thing” being there. I would also recommend reaching out to the company themselves as they have great customer service. And can provide more info.
I think the whole grounding thing is silly. I’m not talking about being barefoot though I’m just talking about the grounding part. Standing in the grass barefooted is not setting special nature ions to your body. I believe you feel better because you took off the restive shoes. You don’t feel better from chakras and nature energy. You feel good because you are doing a better thing for your body. The weird grounding rod is a gimmick in my opinion and I can’t find any real evidence that it works the way some of these companies say it does.
