      Sir please crack down these Karate/Kung Fu/Tae Kwon Do mcdojos in India.
      These McDojos literally run cratches for children of middle age mothers instead of teaching people how to fight.
      The one I went to made us do cardio all the time, very little bagwork, very little sparring, like once in a blue moon. I realised I went there to learn how to fight, but all I was doing was cardio that I could do at home, and useless flying roundhouses for their Olympic tap-dancing tournaments.
      Word of advice to all my fellow Indians here -- if you want to learn how to fight, do not join these bullshido traditional martial art McDojos. They are nothing more than a bunch of clowns!!!

    They did their jumping around, high kicking and strange weapons demo, and at the end of it, I had a chat with the Gurukkal - teacher.

    From personal training, if you go for a gun, put your whole body into it. Don’t just reach for it, throw yourself into it so you don’t just turn the gun away, but can wrap around it or the guy’s arm to you can have a chance of wrestling it away. Another thing to look for is if their finger is on the trigger. If it is, probably don’t even bother.

    Actually it is easy to block (or dodge) in situation where you can expect only some kind of punch without any leg movement.
    However, you do not have time to hit with your own punch, at least hitting it first, because when you react the opponent has already thrown punch. Block and dodge are both much shorter movements, thus you can have time for either of them.

    • @WarriorBoy

      That's what I was thinking, but even then that doesn't address the grab directly. The eye pressure may cause the attacker to slam you. It sounds crazy, but adrenaline negates pain a lot in a fight. You're always better off using self defense techniques built around superior position, not pain compliance.

    On the gun to the back technique your moving off center line. It doesn’t mean your not going to get shot but you either get center punched in the spine and heart or take it in the shoulder. You can only control so much. It’s a last resort and if compliance is working go with it rather than a move. If your about to be executed then go fighting.

    The masters u see in the video are very famous martial art practitioners in india. The actor u talked about is a worshipped actor and the level of respect people gave him n his bullshido is to the point beyond criticism. He practice kalari n makes nice action film. Kalari is said to be the oldest martial art but I see it as the worst bullshido ,worse than aikido. It's a good exercise but definitely not an art of fighting hand to hand. The weapons traning look cool and convincing though. Please check out kalari and comment on it.

  • @peeyush981
    @peeyush981 Год назад

    i agree with some of the criticism on these self defense videos, but here's the thing -
    1. it's easier to criticize.
    2. most self defense videos are catered for non martial arts practicing people who may be threatened by non martial arts practicing people
    3. Fights are never static, so yes there are counters and counters to counters. But since we are assuming both people involved are untrained, in some of the cases, the critic shows counters which an untrained assailant will not know.
    for eg...this one guy showed an escape from a wrist grab....
    well even in grappling, you turn your wrist from the side of the opponents thumb to free your wrist, but then maybe you'd do an arm drag or shoot in close for a body lock...
    but it takes a lot of time to train people into the flow of all round fighting
    so there are well intentioned and well trained people trying to teach self defence
    i think the real issue lies in people in general not being physically fit and assuming one session of self defense is sufficient

    So people who are not trained in these techniques cannot do them against someone who trains martial arts regularly. That is all he is showing.
    Neither him nor his students have drilled these techniques for hundreds of hours or had their form corrected or pressure tested any of this.
    Now I am not claiming that any of these techniques are most certainly going to work.
    But these debunking videos are always done by people that have not been taught the techniques and they are just trying them.
    This would be like a TKD guy watching a video on how to break out of guard, take someone back and then apply a rear naked choke. Then he tries it with his students and it fails so he then states see this does not work. It is just not a scientific approach.
    So yes there is a lot of Bullshido out there - but these lame debunking videos are not useful in any way.

    • @WarriorBoy
      @WarriorBoy 3 года назад

      1) You can't count on your opponent knowing nothing about physical confrontation.
      2) He isn't using a skilled response against the theoretical move in a lot of his debunkings. Pulling the gun backwards? You don't have to be well-trained to do that. Completing that slap instead of letting the phony DK Yoo-style punch stop it? How was that high level skill? Even against his female student, he didn't use an Osoto-Gari or a smooth Double Leg, he manhandled her after grabbing her wrist, which a creep would actually do if he got ahold of her. All of his responses are exactly what thug/street brawler types would do. Some dudes like that are way more dangerous than you might think, even without training.
      3) Having movements that work against skilled opponents will be twice as effective against people who don't know what they're doing. Thus, your methods should always be based around techniques that reliably work when the strongest, most athletic, well-trained people you know resist against them. Anything else is a waste of time in self-defense.

      @@WarriorBoy I am not saying you have to be well trained to try these moves. But you most definitely have to be well trained to get them to work against a resisting opponent. Just like in my BJJ scenario.
      The DK Yoo punch is about having trained your reflexes and punching speed. The guy he tried it on was nowhere near as fast. I have used a similar technique in class and I can hit every student before they hit me with the hook. But they struggle to do it to each other because they have not trained it.
      Your claims are hypocritical as no art has moves that you can learn in 5 minutes and then use them effectively against a strong thug. It is just hilariously naive. Just as naive as some TMA's who fought against Xu even though they had never sparred in their life.
