I was surprised by how hard he hit when I first saw them. On top of everything else, first and foremost, he was ROCK drummer! RIP Professor. We're still trying to catch up! ❤ 🤘🏻
The extreme precision in Neil's drumming was just ridiculous. I could hear him play alone (without Alex or Geddy, only the drum track) for hours without ever getting bored: I can hear all the different subtleties, his little drum fills and always discover something new or fresh to my ears. The Camera Eye being one of my all time favorite NP performances. Peart was in a league of his own, period. R.I.P Professor. You made the world a better place with your music, your passion and your words, and you are sorely missed...
I can’t find a single drum cover where someone picked up on that! I must admit in my own drum cover of it 3 years ago I made the same mistake of doing “full time” all the way through the movement but now I can’t unhear it!
His drums are tuned so well on this album. They did a good getting the toms in mix. The snare and bass drum are too buried in the mix though. Listen to the YYZ isolated track and on the ride cymbal part there are so many more bass drum notes during that part that isn’t even heard on the album.
@@breauxcewayne1971quick doubles on the single leg aren’t really hear-able. It sounds like it isn’t there but when you take it out it’s a huge difference
A Giant who stood atop the highest peak of rock and roll drumming - RIP Neil Peart

We were lucky to live in the time of his greatness. RIP Neil
Wow he just contains everything so well with those multiple rhythms and time signatures
He beats the hell outta that snare. Hits hard. So good!
Power and absolute metronome-like precision. Greatest rock drummer ever
The section from 5:55=6:18 ALWAYS gives me the bumps. Those 'reverse hi hats' just are brutal.
I never even saw this guy in person, but my heart aches to know he is gone.
The best out there, may he rest in peace.

There was a channel that lined up his parts with a click or grid and they were so on the money it was ridiculous. What a legend.
Good lord this drum sound is fantastic. Big, spacious, powerful, snappy and the playing/parts are of course elite.
3:34 that switch from the half time to "full time" highhat always threw me off.

If course I'm blown away by his playing but I'm equally if not more impressed by his composure of the drum track.
He has superb!!mud range sound quality!!
Awesome....The Great Teacher Neal Peart (R.I.P.)🙏🙏🙏
I’ve absolutely loved this song from the day Moving Pictures came out, well at least Christmas of 81 or two. Miss you Neil!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
4:03 without this video I would’ve never heard that base pattern change. I haven’t seen anyone pick that up in a drum cover
I've heard this song a thousand times, but heard some bass drum and hi-hat work that is covered up by the album track. Thanks for sharing!
Such great feel and precision. I love how they use ritardandos to increase tension, only humans playing together can do this.
Man he played hard
The Master of His Craft ❤.
What can you say? He was our Professor.
What a drummer, no one compares to Neil P
Love how the amplitude is set to max without clipping.
F*****g genius!!
I just listened to this on my wok PC. I can not wait to go home and blast this on my DX-9 Cervwin vega's.
Now you're just braggin'! 😃
@@321CatDaddy What do you use for your home audio?
Incredible consistency on the snare you can hear the bottom head barking out
OMG that up and down fill at 10:12!! Never heard that before!
I miss you Neil.
The hi hat hits at 6:14 are just the coolest shit ever
You just know that is Peart playing, nobody else could do that with the Same feel.
You can really hear that taking much better at 8:50!
Perfection!!!!
thts an awesome intro...
The Professor.. Uhhhh
🙈
...great job! Thanks!!!
The sound of the snare in this sounds more like it did in later albums than I remember it sounding on this album. Did that make sense?
absolutely. It sounds fatter here than it does on the actual record
@@kai326 in here it sounds as if a floor tom was being hit at the same time the snare gets hit

kudos!!
I jus learned it!!!
This is amazing! The quality is so good - how did you get this?
RB game.
This is great sounding stuff right here! You can hear someone say something right at 8:54-ish. Can't tell what it is though.
That’s just audio of British people talking. It fits into the narrative of the song and can be found in the lyrics
@@jacksonhorjus7684 it’s actually British producer Terry Brown saying hello and Geddy saying mornin gov
Brava!
Anybody else air drumming?
please please please subdivisions
Okay. Perhaps in a couple of weeks.

I need to know this program you are using. Sounds incredible
I do not isolate tracks. I am using already isolated tracks.
@@bonzosdrumgrooves259 dang it. Would love to isolate a bunch of journey, keyboard tracks
