I was surprised by how hard he hit when I first saw them. On top of everything else, first and foremost, he was ROCK drummer! RIP Professor. We're still trying to catch up! ❤ 🤘🏻

The extreme precision in Neil's drumming was just ridiculous. I could hear him play alone (without Alex or Geddy, only the drum track) for hours without ever getting bored: I can hear all the different subtleties, his little drum fills and always discover something new or fresh to my ears. The Camera Eye being one of my all time favorite NP performances. Peart was in a league of his own, period.
R.I.P Professor. You made the world a better place with your music, your passion and your words, and you are sorely missed...

Good lord this drum sound is fantastic. Big, spacious, powerful, snappy and the playing/parts are of course elite.

I can’t find a single drum cover where someone picked up on that! I must admit in my own drum cover of it 3 years ago I made the same mistake of doing “full time” all the way through the movement but now I can’t unhear it!

His drums are tuned so well on this album. They did a good getting the toms in mix. The snare and bass drum are too buried in the mix though. Listen to the YYZ isolated track and on the ride cymbal part there are so many more bass drum notes during that part that isn’t even heard on the album.
