ONLY Neil Peart has the right to give a thumbs down.... and he certainly wouldn't do that with drumming of Such a high standard... so whoever gave the thumbs down....... think shame of yourself...
Right at 7:30 it starts with that hi-hat and snare riff. Same as the one played earlier in the song. However, this one is different than the riff from before. Attention to detail is insane with this cover. Remembering all of these on such long songs requires not only skill but time studying and learning the progression of the song. Superb work.
i've been playing in a rush tribute band for over 20 years. i've studied every aspect of neil peart, even having lessons from neil himself, and i have to say this is an awesome cover of camera eye. whoever gave the three thumbs down obviously doesn't appreciate good drumming. nicely done!
This IS shit from my childhood. Rush was my #1 influence on a music career that lasted a good 20 years. The fact that this is here blows me away. Especially since I have kids now and I have done the multi-instrumentalist bit along with mixer and producer for a number of years (kids, btw, are mesmerized by ALL these videos I have been playing them). I could only wish I was a competent as our said benefactor. Camera Eye was always one of my fav Rush songs. I cannot understand why there are not hundreds of thousands of subs. EVERY Neil Peart fan deserves this. I love how we can't see the face. Just the work, the action. Please include some sort of donation something somewhere so I can give you SOMETHING for your enjoyment of playing what you love (and my watching it). The professor on the drum kit...
Man, RIP Neil. I've been binging your videos these past few days as we have learned the best drummer ever has passed into the next realm. Seriously, best Rush drum covers on youtube. Best camera angle, hitting every note with ease, a setup very similar to that of Neil, and great sound quality. Plus nearly all of the Rush catalog documented for all to see for generations to come. You've certainly earned yourself a subscriber and should have far more than you do. Thanks for these, and thanks for really honoring and highlighting the skill and degree to which Neil crafted his drum parts.
Sadly, Neil Peart has passed away, January 7, 2020, at the age of 67. We will remember you, Neil! (www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/neil-peart-rush-obituary-936221/)
Incredible. I have had dreams about being able to play this song at this level, but unfortunately cannot yet. You on the other hand, mimic the god and originator of these beats in great detail. Sick!!
To get all those different fills and cymbals down, WOOOOOOW!!! Amazing man!!! Are you memorizing all this or somehow referencing something? If memorizing, how many times do you go through it before recording? As you know, Neil RARELY ever did the same fill twice. I don't even think he would play this THIS accurately live, honestly. Major props man!!!
Holy $^*#!!!!! I've found the Rush drum cover promised land. Well done, Sterling! If the rest of your Rush covers are as good as this, I won't be disappointed.
My nick name growing up by everyone who knew me was Geddy lee Harris for my love of playing rush and maiden.😂 I'm a bass player and I could watch your videos all day. You nail the feel and little details that must be there. Well done
At 10:42 or close, you seem to miss some final parts. I could be in error...I am NOT a drummer, I'm not Neil. At that very end...you "seem" exclude, or miss. I welcome any correction if it's something I've missed.
This makes me appreciate Neil’s talent even more. Because the drums are louder than the background track I can hear a lot more nuance and detail than from listening to this song numerous times and seeing the greatest band of all time live numerous times Excellent cover.
Wait, is this in fast motion? something dosent look normal? You are great for sure but just IDK? Looks like you are playing to a slowed track , could just be how good you are
@@josepazsays Bro I'm so sorry if that came out wrong, I really am. Hi, My name is Andy, I am 50 years old, sounds old to me ! Ugg, I am a drummer, You Sir are a pro. I've been playing most of my life and NP was and always will be my and my drumming friends life long hero.It took me a year and 3 days to play Subdivisions, at least as good as I thought I could and put it up here 12-15 years ago, it no longer is on here for some reason. For fun look up Dave Goodrich playing Subdivisions (ruclips.net/video/sFObuUHGMbQ/видео.html) A good friend, Again I'm sorry, I never ever meant to offend you, you are one in a trillion, full of talent. Please except. I would love to see you put your own touch on things, or your own songs, you could play anything and I bet you are in a band, I was in my first "band" in 1983 or so, we were.... Horrible! But they were the best days of my life, I got better, with time, better bands, I've done the NY city thing, early 2000's, right when they told people they couldn't smoke in bars, it was very hard to keep an audience.. LOL, Let me digress, I think my comment came from watching one of your video's where I guess I have never seen hands and arms move that fast. I never did but some of my drum friends would learn hard songs by slowing down the re-play and play along, esp to Rush. Once again I am sorry, I and the many people I have told about to watch you kick but on drums I am sorry and retract my not well thought out comment. Andy, Rock on. PS Dave met Neil once. Watch his vid...
Two things become glaringly apparent when I watch these highly commendable drum covers : the sheer brilliance of Rush as a whole .. & the absolute genius of Professor Neil Peart ! Well done! 👍👏👏👏

I think one of those thumbs down was Lars Ulrich

@Nathan GDL as does your grammar.

more powerful, more concert toms, like it a lot !

Sterling is the best at this. Best I've seen after Neil.
Dude, you truly are talented. I could watch you play all day. This is another one of my favorites you nailed.

Post some videos good sir
I doubt Neil knew how many millions of people he inspired to pick up a pair of sticks. Thanks for sharing this. You nailed it!

Welcome back! This is an epic song! Great drumming and great video! Damn great playing man! 🤘🏻🍻
Well done. You made that little flurry at 3:05 look effortless.

Every single hair on my body is standing on end. AMAZING
Absolutely fantastic. It’s highly doubtful Neil did this without edits, stops and starts, etc in the studio. Very well done.
If you uploaded just your drum track audio, i could compare it to the real track and not notice a difference.
Koalaz I could.
Let's do this.
Intense energy and possibilities
I have been playing for 43 years and have always tried to model my drumming after Neil Peart. So I know what it takes to play Rush. Great job!
As usual, you can mute this and play the original song synced to the video to find the Sterling doesn't miss a single stroke. Amazing.
As Neal retires, you'll be the next rush drummer.
I wouldn’t plan on that if I were you. A tour without Neil would fall flat, no matter the quality of drummer. Just sayin.
sadly, he's permanently retired
Hartze no one replaces the professor
you mean NEIL? he is no longer with us. and no one can replace him.
Ted Striker2112 this would be the closest we could get to Neil.
this is amazing , this shows just how complex Niels drum patterns were , his time changes were mechanical genius
you just gained a new fan would love to here you do some toto or police awesome man
Good God. Everyone wants to be like that !
Parabéns pelo seu trabalho é ótimo, meticuloso como o som do Rush, minha banda favorita!!!
Desde o Brasil um abraço!!!🕊️☀️🙏👏👏👏👏👏

Yes, awesome!
I forgot you'd be playing Big Ben at the end, good job.
mcgill taught a friend of mine he sounds like Neil.same professor??
Been listening to this song since the early 80’s... Excellent song & well done...
Wow, very good! Original tempo too! Bravo! I would not want to arm-wrestle you!
Bravo. My favorite Rush tune. Nice job.
Quite impressive, bravo!
Well done, just a little light on the drums,Neil used a bit more power on his single strokes and rolls.
Nice cover.
My favorite version is when Neil plays missing a tom live.
I dig it! Thank you for that performance
Man...!! How do u no wen to hit dose gold circles...n dose pipes sound kool..
Thumbs down really ? This dude jams period
Sterling, Neal is looking down on you and is Pleased!!!

I Can’t wait to buy my first drum set !!!!!!
F$@& ya!
Wait, is this in fast motion? something dosent look normal? You are great for sure but just IDK? Looks like you are playing to a slowed track , could just be how good you are
Watch the rocking motion of the cymbals, it's perfectly normal, not sped up.
Replace your video card its stuttering frames ..
Do you know how much harder that would be?! It wouldn't even be practical. Definitely replace your video card and change that CRT monitor.
