I have the 2016 Ultra Limited. Love the bike. Went all the way to N.C. And back from Mass. with my buddies twice and even rode it on the Tail of the Dragon 6 times. To this day, it never misses a beat.
Totally agree. Got an Ultra with quick detach Tour pak & a street glide seat. 10 mins to switch back & forth & I have the best of both worlds. Super happy.
Rob Hart Done that with my ‘09 - has a street glide and the rear suspension (or lack of) sucked. So yeah, now I have a street glide and an ultra and all things in between 😎
@@toddferrell518 I have an older model , it still has the big lollipop turn signals. I have seen guys with newer models put LEDs in the filler panels, CVO style.
I got the 2014 Ultra with quick detach, amd a SG/RG seat. It did use to take about 10 minutes to switch. I got it down to 2 minutes now. So easy that even if I am running a little later than my comfort for work, I can swap and still make it on time.
We bought the 2021 Electric Glide Ultra Limited in June 2021. We found the last Black and Chrome one in the province of Ontario. We went from a 2005 Heritage Softail Classic Black Cherry/Black Pearl and lots of chrome to the new bike.We love it. It took some getting used to the weight and how it manoeuvres with me being on the back. We have already put over 8000 kms on it this summer. We love the storage and the fact that our helmets are safely stored away. Best decision we ever made.
Couldn't agree more have a 18 ultra limited which is my first Harley and I absolutely love the bike and it suits the kind of riding I like to do long distance rides and the heated grips are awesome with living up north in PA on the colder days I personally leave the tour pack on all the time it's one of the biggest pluses with having a bike such as a limited... love my "old man" bike!
I’ve got a 2014 ultra limited and me and the wife love it, bought it used in 2017 for 14,900 with 28,000 miles. Now it has over 40,000 and no problems.. ultra limited all the way!!!
A few of our viewers pointed out something I missed. All of these new bikes come with the 114! Color options are what really bump up the MSRP further making my point as to why the Ultra offers more for the money as a standard black is around the same price as the SGS. Sorry for the mixup 👊
I’m currently on a 2019 heritage classic 114 and wanting a street glide but I too noticed the led headlights on the ultra limited and that’s exactly what I have on mine . I gotta say I’m now looking at the ultra limiteds due to this alone
Just bagged a 2020 Ultra limited Black on Black as a major trade up from my 2013 Vulcan Voyager. Just an absolute joy to ride and the alien spacecraft look gets noticed everywhere
All depends on what you’re trying to achieve. The ultra is aiming for more comfort vs the special is more of a low down hot rod bagger. Not a case of which is better but what your goal is for riding.
@@joshuabalbuena3880 because the guys who want a hot rod styled bagger don’t want lowers, short bags, extra bag guards, aux lights etc. The special gives you a more stripped down look, while the ultra is a clear heavy touring bike
Easy enough to add a tour pack with quick connects. Tour pack, HD version is over $1600, aftermarket is much cheaper with comparable options or cheap options. Ultra Limited isn't better, just different. Depends on what you want. Not sure adding things the Street Glide doesn't have is more expensive, HD prices the limited to include their profit............. The heated grips are nice, not a must. Not too difficult to install either and again the after market is endless.
I thought the ultra was an old man bike until I bought one now I love it early this past year me and my wife road a 2002 Roadking 2600 miles to the 120…we taking a trip this year up north east can’t wait to take our ultra limited…❤
I have a 2018 ultra Limited low.. just because of my short inseam as well..passenger floor boards are smaller, so easier to back up, primary isn’t out as far, but it doesn’t come with heated grips..I did add those tho .. think it was $157.00 for the pair so not too bad!! Also added LED tail/brake lite, and LED filler lites, for the rear, and LED turn signal for The e front!! Love my bike!!
I’ve owned an ‘03 Nightrain(70K mi) that I sold in ‘15 for an Ultra Limited. I rode the ‘15 (30K mi) until Jan ‘20. I then bought a ‘19 Ultra. I had the special S/G paint kit(ext. bags and CVO rear fender/lights included)put on it, and had the tour pack and lowers custom painted to match. I’ve got 6k mi on it so far. I can strip the tour pack and seat off, install the solo seat- instant custom S/G, only loaded with the lowers, extra lighting, better stereo, etc. that everyone swears is a custom CVO. I’ve always appreciated the hot rod bagger S/G, but this one is more of a sophisticated MMA fighter in a tuxedo... I love it!
I’ve successfully turned my 14 SGS into an ultra, lol. I’ve added lower fairings a chopped tour pack and stretched bags as well as the communication headset. I still think it’s better looking than an ultra.
Great talk thanks. From the pillion perspective you missed, for me, the biggest advantage of the Ultra Ltd - nearly 50% more suspension travel.. so, when all day in the saddle the comfort is second to none.
Last year I traded in my 2012 Street Glide (my first Harley) for an upgrade. I test rode 3 new 2018s, a Street Glide Special, a Road Glide Special and an Ultra Limited. Honestly, coming off a batwing bike, I fell in love with the fixed-fairing Road Glide but my wife reeled me in with the "this one has all the things we would need to add if we get that one". The first ride to the coast with friends showed why this choice was better. They walked around carrying their helmets while our full-face helmets rested nicely in the locked tourpak. I really like all the extra lighting over the two Specials and have since added Custom Dynamics rings LED signals in front, tombstone LED filler lights from Harley and an angled, smoked taillight from BrightAssLights. Floorboard extenders and highway pegs for me and in three weeks it goes in for 12" LAChoppers Grande Twin Peaks handlebar upgrade. Next will be a new seat and windshield. Also, the heated grips, which weren't really a selling point for me, were awesome to have on my New Years Day Polarbear ride. I love my UL!
I have a 2019 ultra limited and absolutely love it. Upgraded the suspension to Legend Rego-A adjustable shocks and wow what an amazing ride difference!! Highly recommend!
I wanted the Ultra because of the twin cooling ( Wet Head ) I did the detach kit on mine for the tour pack makes it handle better when your riding by yourself.
Just purchased the all blacked out limited 2020 man I love this bike originally was buying the street glide but I went with the comfort and all I get is thumbs up everywhere i go!!!!!.
I have an Ultra Classic, and I was considering going and buying a Street Glide.. After seeing your RUclips video I may just keep my Ultra Classic! Mine already has everything you were showing us on your video! Be safe out there! I clicked the like button Brother!
Ok. After watching several of your videos, and hearing your thoughts on Harley's in general. I took a few moments to watch this one. Hearing your thoughts on this one over the other one you mentioned, in general I would agree. I was surprised to hear one of the most important things on the Ultra Limited over the other is that one is twin cooled, the other is not. Twin cooled is an advanced step in the right direction, and one of the deciding factors (upgrading it to a S.E. 131 from dealership) that is prompting me to get my first bike (a Harley - LOL) in all black. Dealing with heat as I do here in Texas, one of the things I do not want is to roast when needing to set at a light because of the heat of the motor on my inner legs. Yes, I agree that getting the removal trunk is a must. For myself, just a single rider, I'll change out the seat to a Russel Day Long Seat right off the bat. Other than that, I think you hit the mark on this one. Thanks again for the Info. ScottishxPride, Tx.
By rights the Street Glide should be equipped with same thing as much as you pay for them. Plus they should have the BEST headlights available for the price.
I am 51 amd i just got my 2017 ultra limited last week. So, far. I like it. Beside the radio cutting out. But i cant wait till i can take it on a long ride. I had a 2006 wide glide that had over 60,000 miles on it. Before a lady decided to rear end me. Yes, i was pissed. But not really hurt. Also, i did get screwed by the insurance company. But i really like this one.
I absolutely luv my 2017 Limited! I luv the extra space & comfort the tour pack affords myself & my passenger ! It also has a much more comfortable seat for me & my passenger ! It’s higher that a Streetglide which allows for more suspension travel which =Better ride especially if you upgraded the rear shocks like I did to Progressive. It has a higher windshield which is way better if you get caught in a shower . It’s Twin cooled motor runs cooler than a StreetGlide! I don’t care 🤷♂️ if it’s an Ole Man bike because I’m 55 years old! Lol Had a 2012 Streetglide anyway ! Been there done ✅ that! Lol 😂!
My first Harley was 2011 limited then a 16 SGS candy BLK gold now on a 17 750 street rod and my next one 975 Street fighter so it's all in what u want they are all good bikes.
I have owned a Street Glide and loved it. Sold it years ago. I have ridden Street Glides, Road Glides and Limiteds at Bike Week/Biketoberfest and although I do like the Glides the Limited just feels better. So I am buying a '19 Limited with low miles. And I think I will spring for the Tour-Pak removal kit to have the best of both worlds!
All good points.. I have seen quite a few people who buy Street Glides and then add lower fairings and a trunk for a lot more than it would have to just buy a Limited. That said, before 2020 the color choices on the Limited weren't great. In fact they were terrible unless you wanted black. The Street Glides offered better colors. The moco fixed that, mostly, for the 2020 model year.
I have a 17 UL with the quick disconnect kits. I get the best of both worlds. best cruiser on the market or a slick Street Glide when i just want o cruise locally
i bought my first Harley in September 2021 and its the Ultra Limited Blackout and im loving it. Im still trying to figure out what slip on mufflers i want.
For style, the street glide special, it has the stretched bags and better looking taillights. You can add the aux lights for 480 complete if you know where to get the right parts. For all together value right off the showroom floor, the ultra limited is better.
First let me say Thank you for your review , in my opinion that show cases the best of both worlds with the ultra limited , we have 2014 whiskey amber and black with the 110 big bore kit installed. Love the bike !! I did some shopping around and found a street glide seat and passenger backrest for less than 200.00 . Wife not so happy about that... But it's a easy change out and shes good to go out a weekend ride.
The only difference between the two when stripped down is the (1) stretched bags on the special, vs.(10 ) lower legs, road pack, bag guards, pass. floor boards, travel wind shield, heated grips, helmet to helmet, T/C, ABS... etc.
I traded a 2019 Street Glide Special for a 2020 Limited. Added the detachable Tour pac and CVO seat. Great looking bike but the best part is the ride and comfort. The Street Glide rode rough compared to the Ultra.
big difference is the suspension the ultra got way better suspension as the streetglide. this is why i did the hole suspension from wilbers (nivomat) on my streetglide. good video keep riding and stay save brother! 👍🏻
Researched the hell out of things. Was dead set on street glide. Had an opportunity for ultra limited. Got it; never looked back. I have the street glide seat and removable tour pack. Daily driver looks like street glide on long rides comfy for the better half. Best of both worlds. Get the ultra, with some street glide features, like the windshield etc....
Ultra Limited is a more comfortable ride, but the Street Glide Special is easier to handle in turns and curves. You have to work a little harder with an Ultra limited. I was in a club for awhile, the guy with the Ultra Limited had to work a bit more than us with Street Glide Specials. Now I added everything from Lowers, to Tour Pack, to Heated Grips to Led Lights on mine to get the features. But I still have the easier to handle bike with all that. If you are doing longer rides, not doing tight club riding and don't want the hassle of adding the stuff after the fact the Ultra is better. But their best feature to compare is handling, not extras.
I love the Ultra Limited It's the only harley I've ever ridden and in my opinion keeps the old style harley look and while it's a little cramped ( I'm 6'5" ) compared to the Road or Street Glide It remains my favorite so much so that I've bought the 2023 anniversary special Limited Edition and can't wait for it to arrive I have the complete Rockford Fosgate stereo upgrade sitting in my bedroom including the sub woofer kit, this bike is going to ROCK. The only downside for me is that it doesn't come with the blacked out version I think that with the red fade paint job the blacked out version would look awesome.
The ultra is undoubtedly a better buy than a steer glide or road glide special... not even comparable.. your paying for 114 and blacked out engine but then your suspension is slammed.. better value all day is the ultra.. I wish they still offered the optional classic cause I don’t need the liquid cooling ...
I bought a street Glide Special in 2018 because it was blacked out they didn’t have the ultra limited blocked out in 2018 they just came 2020 n I had to buy a tour pack n auxiliary lights and lots of extras I ended up close to 40 k in my bike if I’d buy a bike now I’d go with ultra limited blocked out straight up.
Trading my ultra low for a new 2021 street glide, my wife doesn’t ride anymore and I can’t ride a regular ultra because it’s too high for me. Ultra is also about 200 pounds heavier.
Come on. $33,500 for that bike! Kiss my Street Glides Rear tire. Only FIVE GRAND more! Really ???? That's FIVE friggen GRAND buddy. Yes it's better, but cost $5,000 more. Till Harley can build a decent machine for a lot less, then I'll tell you what's better. A clean used bike.
I have a 2014 Harley Arthur lemonade at first when I first started looking at the bike I was going to get a Street Glide and then I started looking at comfort for my wife. I think I personally did a better Troy the painted actually one to the other was upper 50 but it wasn't quite 60 yet
My father gave me his 09 Street Glide but he did have all the ultra stuff put on the Street Glide so it looks like the ultra I guess. When I do get a new one I will get the Ultra. The bike I have is a 96 cc engine do you think it is under powered is there a huge difference with the 107 or the 114?
Old man's bike??? Okay I'm an old man. I am about to make to move from my 2009 Street glide... which looks like a limited because it has lowers and a tour pack.... and and. So your point about not having to do all the upgrades is well taken. I rode a 2021 last week.. Awesome.
One more thing - I ride hard... 750 miles per day and more; some days - 1,000 miles. For people who are serious riders (not playing), there are only three things to consider - comfort, comfort, and comfort!!!
I have 2018 Street Glide Special with sparkling blue color paint and spring shocks which lower the seat height not available on Ultra Limited. For value, Ultra Limited tops it.
I have had 3 street glides but for a little extra money the ultra limited is well worth it . just think that Harley could make the ultra with detached trunk like Indian does with there Roadmaster .
I went from a street glide to an ultra and wouldn't go back. All the extra features you pointed out are exactly why I did it. You know you can get 3 dozen beer and a large pizza in that tour pak ? BONUS !! I agree the passenger floorboards limit leg movement and it doesn't matter how tall you are , i'm 5' 13 and it still sucks. Nice job on the video !!
In 2018 I bought my first Harley CVO limited absolutely love it. I’m going to be 61 years old and still going strong. Cheers

Also to mention that the touring pack gives you additional higher brake lights and lighting which makes you more visible.

I traded a 2019 Street Glide Special for a 2020 Limited. Added the detachable Tour pac and CVO seat. Great looking bike but the best part is the ride and comfort. The Street Glide rode rough compared to the Ultra.
I'll get the Ultra Limited when I turn 65. Lol. Nice bike, but for now, I'm still single and love my 2020 Street Glide Special.
I don't own a Hog yet but I like the Ultra so I can CONVERT and strip it to a Street Glide.
@3:10 It's not the Tour Pack trunk that makes it look like an "old man's bike." The fact it's an HD does that already. ;-)
Just bought 2021 ultra limited midnight crinson!! Lot of bike buddy
Harley is the only brand where with some models you pay more for less!
Oz Bloke that is why they killed off the ultra classic. It was to good of a value.
big difference is the suspension the ultra got way better suspension as the streetglide. this is why i did the hole suspension from wilbers (nivomat) on my streetglide. good video keep riding and stay save brother! 👍🏻
When I go for my next bike I had my mind set on a Street Glide but now I’m second guessing that.
Beautiful bike's, but my next will be an Indian Springfield or changer!
Ultra with removable tour pack for me. I gotta have the ultra suspention with my bad back. Lowered stiff ride is no good for me.
First thing I did to my Electriglide was to put on LED lights wow what a difference.
The ultra is undoubtedly a better buy than a steer glide or road glide special... not even comparable.. your paying for 114 and blacked out engine but then your suspension is slammed.. better value all day is the ultra.. I wish they still offered the optional classic cause I don’t need the liquid cooling ...
Do you believe that HD will update the 2025 to match their 2024 street glide? Same goes for the Road glide limited
It's amazing that it costs more to have blacked out (black paint) than it is to have chrome lol
I did an hid headlight upgrade to my street glide for $100 plus custom dynamics white led rings for around $80. My hids are brighter than the leds
One more big difference between them is the ride quality. The limited ride better
I have both and i prefer the ultra limited 👌
Ultra limited hands down comfort and space with tour pack and lower fairings !!!
Ultra Limited has a great top box. I can no longer live without one
Love my super agile 2019 Ultra Limited!
I have a 2014 Harley Arthur lemonade at first when I first started looking at the bike I was going to get a Street Glide and then I started looking at comfort for my wife. I think I personally did a better Troy the painted actually one to the other was upper 50 but it wasn't quite 60 yet
The twin-cooled motor is a HUGE +++ to the Ultra.
Mate just looking at buying one now in Australia are you saying with the limited it is standard to get the head set to talk to your Passenger?
Is an Ultra better than a CVO SG...that's the real comparison, surely?
Old man's bike??? Okay I'm an old man. I am about to make to move from my 2009 Street glide... which looks like a limited because it has lowers and a tour pack.... and and. So your point about not having to do all the upgrades is well taken. I rode a 2021 last week.. Awesome.
I like the rear end look of the sgs better and the industrial Grey denim is gorgeous id soend thousands more to make my sgs an ultra just for that
I've scanned your content... Subscribed!
Where's the leg of the 'L' in Harley(-Davidson) on the backdrop?
Prices sound high. Do they have dealer convenience fees on HDs where you are?
I have had 3 street glides but for a little extra money the ultra limited is well worth it . just think that Harley could make the ultra with detached trunk like Indian does with there Roadmaster .
I went from a street glide to an ultra and wouldn't go back. All the extra features you pointed out are exactly why I did it. You know you can get 3 dozen beer and a large pizza in that tour pak ? BONUS !! I agree the passenger floorboards limit leg movement and it doesn't matter how tall you are , i'm 5' 13 and it still sucks. Nice job on the video !!
