For me, I can find my Laptop from the phone, click connect, it says connecting, but then it just stops, and I can click connect again indefinitely

For people having trouble finding the "Connect" app after installing the option feature, Windows 11 renamed it to "Wireless Display" (as of 7/31/23). My Galaxy Note S22+ bottom half of screen is black after a drop so this is helping me until I get a new phone. Thanks for the help.

i am useing windos 11 and i follow all the instruction by you but when i go to the projection setting it show " your divice dosen"t support miracast, so you can't project wirelessly" so what m i do now? please replay me..

Just a heads up, it was called "Wireless Display" for me in the start menu. Not sure if they've renamed it from "Connect"

Thank you. I just want to add that if you try installing this and it fails, that means you may be connected to a metered connection. Go to the wifi settings of the wifi you are connected to and turn off "Metered connection" and try installing again. You should turn metered connection back on after as it helps to save your browsing data subscription by preventing auto downloads of windows updates and so on. Cheers!

You are awesome explaining. It worked kind of. My samsung 21 ultra mirrors onto my laptop except when i play a movie from an app like hulu or prime. I only get sound from the laptop. Any idea why?

I got through all the steps, but for reason, my devices won't connect.
The phone sits there with an endless wheel spinning "Searching for devices....."
Even when I go to list of devices and find my computer, and try to connect, it just sits there endlessly "connecting......" until it just suddenly shows me "No nearby devices found." None of this stuff ever works for me, I just don't know why.

I am using a Google Pixel 7 which uses "Cast" as its option for screen sharing. It's only showing my Google Home as an option. I also connected my phone to my computer using Bluetooth to see if that would resolve the issue but it did not. Does anyone have a resolution (no software, or only software from Google/Microsoft)
My PC says "couldn't install" when I try to install the 'wireless display' .

I followed all the steps, but for some reason, when I try to use the miracast on my phone, that's built in it. doesn't show up. like the software setup on the computer. But when I try to use miracast, it doesn't show the name i would need to connect for screenshare.
If you have a Pixel phone, it won't show up since Pixels don't support the same protocol that Windows does for screen mirroring.

If both devices support 4k and hdr, does this also stream it? Or does this significantly compress the quality?
The video is very instructive, and it helped me connect my pc to my android cell phone. But however, it depends on the type of windows 11 you have, and after installing the feature, you can locate it also in the search bar with the name of "Wireless Display" and follow the steps. Another way to locate the feature after installing, it is by clicking on the windows logo and you will see it under the recommended, recently added option. I hope this advice will help you a lot.

The downside of this, both laptop and Android needs to be connected on the same connection. What's the point? We can just play RUclips on the laptop

The mirroring works, but I can't seem to be able to allow input from my mouse and keyboard. I can use my arrow, shift, ctrl, enter keys to do some operations but it's really clunky. I keep getting a notification that I can allow input in the Action Center > Connect but that option is nowhere to be seen

Oh, this is brilliant! However, Moto G8 Plus isn't showing the laptop's device name. It's on the same Network. Laptop is ready to connect. But the cast screen to a device on my mobile isn't showing another device's name. What to do?

Think it means if your pc is on a home or public wifi, but your mobile phone is using data connection from your own service provider.

For peops thats hav no feature that i mentioned after the devices connected, just press "Esc then Alt+Tab" on windows
