When I opened the Smart View option by pulling down the Notification Area of my Samsung Galaxy A70, it started searching for the other Device (My 32 Inch Samsung Smart TV), it promptly detected the TV. When confirmed, the WIFI of the Mobile got turned on. Through this action, I understand that the Screen Mirroring takes place thru Wifi only. It does not require any internet connection or any other third-party device or software. My Windows 10 ASUS Laptop is also be able to share its screen with the TV in the same way without internet connection or any other third-party device or app. Now, I have to try screen mirroring from my Mobile phone to my Laptop.

hi, i tried many time for screen casting by my oppo a31 android version 9 with my Lenovo t440p 16gb ram ddr3 , core i5 4300M, 500ssd windows 10 Pro 64 bit with my same wifi but when i see mirroring it lags and it appears like Green screen on laptop , may i know what is this error ?

dosent work. when i click 'launch the connect app to project to this pc' a blue screen comes on and i caint get it to go off unless i forcefully restart my computer
Go to settings, system and on the left it will be there. Then some options link or something like that will be there and install the additional feature wireless display. But you need internet connection. The file is around 1.06MB.
How are you displaying your phone before doing this? I already know this. But this mirror force send a 16:9 image. If you wanna use your phone on portrait. And you try to shrink the window black borders on the side will make the image tiny. There is no way to crop the image.
Screen Mirroring thru Smart View option from my Samsung A70 Mobile to my Samsung 32 Inch Smart TV works in landscape mode too. Before attempting the Smart view, you may have to enable the landscape mode option on the phone notification pull-down area.

The image on the phone is portrait, right, and the image you get on the PC is also portrait, with me so far. Well your window, with the cast inside, read that it's portrait and the window itself has a 9:16 aspect ratio. So if you want you can put the window by the side, while you work on some other windowed program or browse the web or whatever. But for me, even if I do the cast in portrait. Windows, even thou it show the phone in portrait, as it is, it does so inside a landscape 16:9 window. Centered, with black on the left and right. If I were to try to resize the window the whole image shrink, because it keeps considering the black area on the left and right as part of the whole image. I was looking for cast to avoid emulators, bad performance and I have multiple devices. But I wanted everything on my monitors so I can keep tabs at glance on some games while farming while I work. Doesn't matter now, I found a better solution. SCRCPY, not only I can see my display and get to chose how it display but I can control everything. It's great, you could find use for a devices with busted displays.

before you cast, you can change the full screen to windowed first by pointing you mouse to the top right part on blue projecting windows

"projecting to this PC" is this option still available with 20H2 , I don't see it on my computer.
You have to go to add a characteristic, search wireless, then install it and that's it.
For me it says I need to install a feature called wireless display, but everytime I try to install,it just says install failed.. any help?

I used a USB and HDTV hub connecting to phone by usb C to the pc using a HDMI cable, nothing happened and no screen cast happened, why?
