I always found it hard to fight rome, if you dont kneecap them straight away. I usually ally with carthage if i can then declare war asap or when they are at war with someone else (whichever is better at the time) and try to feed them to their neighbours if im not looking to take land. Honestly think he got extremely lucky with rome here
I think for the starvation explanation they must have spammed colonies or something given how much disparity there was in each provinces between all of their location's population.
The peace deal expansion you mentioned was part of Full Mechanical Overhaul so it should definitely works with Ivictus (not mid game though). There is a standalone peace deal version meant for Indomita since most other parts of FMO are already integrated, but the description says it should work with any mod so you might be able to use that too if you don't want the other extra mechanics.
Great video man, just so you know the extended peace deal mod is actually compatible with invictus. Btw how to you give land to your subjects in your peace deals?
Good to hear. When you occupy a settlement, click on that occupied settlement and go to "transfer occupation" located above the civilization level of the settlement UI. Then transfer the occupation to the vassal of your choice and in the peace deal you should be able to give it to your vassal. If you want a vassal to take an entire province then you can just transfer the provincial capital to them without having to transfer every single settlement one be one.
Rome is the worst. Hate playing as them because it's too easy. I'm doing a Sparta run right now and I had to restart like 7 times - 6 of those restarts were because of Rome. I get that Rome is op for a good reason, but I wish it was more likely that they'd lose against the Etruscans or something. They steamroll everything. Either they ignore you, or you die. When I last played the Macedonians, I kept declaring on Rome and forcing them to release countries just for petty revenge
I do agree Rome can be annoying but it's kinda fun to have a big scary boss to deal with. Makes it more of a race against the clock and it's so satisfying to beat them.

Happy Ides of March! 🎉
Really happy that you're pivoting to more I:R playthroughs!
Et tu, brute?
The Roman-Spartan war was a battle between David and Goliath, but Goliath was being de-limbed every month by starvation and rebellions

Big man barely got into the battlefield

Good point, I've just never seen them struggle like that before. Must be a bug.

Thanks for the info.
The past few imperator games Rome got snuffed in its cradle, and you complain. Now they're strong and specifically targeting you. You got your wish :D
Of course they succeed when I'm actually playing near them.
Great video, soon you'll be up there with the likes of Koifish and Simo
Koifish and Simo? Nah he's up there with Arumba.

@@sosig6445 Exactly.
You should play as Numidia and defeat Carthage, or do a Phoenician colonial empire campaign.
