Like and maybe even a subscribe is always appreciated but most of all I hope that you enjoyed.

    • @Stolanis
      @Stolanis Год назад +45

      Exactly. I like that the game doesn't explicitly label these actions as Good or Bad, since these ways of dealing with your targets are arguably *worse* than just ending their lives quickly and quietly - killing just your assassination targets doesn't even put the game into a High Chaos state. In the end, it's left up to you to interpret the morality of it: is it more merciful to leave them alive, or do you just enjoy seeing your targets suffer?

    • @gabrielegenota1480
      @gabrielegenota1480 Год назад +32

      @@Stolanis I'd argue that the "revenge" option is to do the non-lethal route. But the most "moral" one would be to just kill them.
      Serving justice isn't Corvo's job. Corvo's job is to take out the Regent's key allies.

    The funniest thing about Dishonored, is you'll never ever see a single cat in the game (except the golden cat 😂), it could explain somewhat why rats are so common and the plague is so brutal. (like it really happened in europe with the last black plague, killing almost half the population, and pushing forward to industrialize from steam engines from that point).
    I used to be a 90's gamer (atari 2600, NES/SNES/PS1 and then PC), so doom/quake/HL, basically the kind of games where you "clean" anything in a level, killing anything at sight, so for me having low chaos is EXTREMELY difficult, since I was conditionned from childhood to that kind of mentality "exterminate everything at range and make your enemies your preys". It was the same with the early RE games, to me it was never games that could make me afraid of (at most having some jumpscares, or very oppresing atmospheres), nor like survival horror, but more like a zombies/monsters safari game, from day one. 🤣
    Same for W40k games, same for civilization game (where everything HAS to end with a global thermonuclear millitary victory during the very last turn).
    So to me basically, gaming rythm with either humiliate (racing games), either exterminate, your opponements.

      That sounded interesting to me so I did my first no kill run while also doing those challenges and it was very challenging and fun. Some dialogue changes when no one ever sees you.

    The Chaos system is one of my favorite systems in all of gaming, because it uses not only your own gaming instincts against you, but also your sense of immersion to make you feel things by altering things from the background. I foolishly chose to go for a clean hands ghost shadow run for my first playthrough, and it was HARD, to the point where I almost gave up. However, I pushed through and I felt really happy with my ending, and I'm proud of that achievement. I felt proud of myself, and I immediately wanted to play again. However, when I started my High chaos playthrough, it felt really, REALLY good to cut loose and destroy your enemies that I was flinching and getting frustrated at for hours before. However, when I reached King sparrow Island and Samuel told me he was disappointed in me, and Emily, the girl who was our mirror and main influencer became a cruel and merciless tyrant, I felt terrible, like I was treating the citizens of Dunwall like meat puppets for my own amusement. It was a sobering moment that made me examine why I play video games in general. Didn't expect to have an action stealth video game make me question my inner character, but here we are. Play Dishonored, it is a masterpiece.

    The ultimate challenge is to do a Ghost run where there's no evidence of you even being there. No being seen, no dialogue, no killing and no more than one knockout per level. One person passing out is believable. More than one means someone was there. Optimally, no knockout at all except the target(s).
    The game is built to do ghost runs, and you get bonus points per stage for doing it.
