A thing I loved about DH2 was that Corvo discovers that Daud actually saved Emily in the DLC. That probably made him stop regretting his decision to spare Daud, as he was sincere, he didn't want to kill anymore
Alright, just so that it is clear: I am fully aware that "Eliminate" doesn't mean to "kill". It was poor of me to use that line, but the main reason for why it is there in the first place, is to show that Corvo is more aggressive than his daughter, when it comes to their way of thinking. Good? Great! Hope you enjoyed!
You know, this might just be me, but considering the situation... Eliminate being considered aggressive isn't entirely accurate. Corvo has done this all once before. Then consider his daughter is green, this just comes down to experience.
I want to make it clear that the developers of the game made different speeches if the player decides to go to a different path of the game. The demo was's mission was set in a high chaos scene so he said 'eliminate'.
Just a fun fact: in my native language (Italian) Corvo means "crow". I think that the creators did this on purpose, because even "Attano" respects the standards of an italian surname. Just wanted to share this information :)
I love that in-depth analysis of Corvo's decisions, very great vid. One thing i'd want to notice is that Corvo doesn't have to kill Havelock during the final mission. Havelock is depressed, he knows that he made lots of mistakes, and his suicidal attempt to kill Corvo looks so pathetic because the former lord-protector became insanely powerful. Damn, he's able to stop the time! This is the end of the story, Havelock's almost harmless... Noone needs another dead body.
I've always seen Corvo as never being seen, heard, or known he was there. Really the only evidence he left behind was his target (for the ones he did kill) and the one time he signed the guest book
19:18 fun fact, if you take that key on the line of dialogue that says "Here, this is yours, the key to emily's room", Havelock will not become hostile and continues talking. this makes me think it was a bug that he becomes hostile if taking at any other point
@@someguy1894 It absolutely works this way for me. The timing is precise. Somewhere between "Here" and "is yours" is where you have to pick it up for him to not be hostile. You can also grab the key while he is still walking towards it and thus doesnt see you take it but will do the speech anyway
@@tinyman1144 in fact, the literal wiki on dishonored says nothing about it being a glitch “Corvo will be forced to fight admiral havelock if he takes they key”

Can't hate on daud too much. Without him Emily would be under the control of Delilah Anyways it's totally worth it to get the collectors edition. Everything is so amazing But it'll be a lot bigger then you'd think. It's up to like my knees (a little shorter then that)
This was fucking awesome, I always thought that low chaos play through completely non-lethal didn't make any sense, everyone always tells me that are non-lethal low chaos playthrough is the canonical way to play the game, but I find it really hard to believe that Corvo could do every single thing he did without taking a life, it always bothered me immensely that he killed people in the comic books, and a lot of the dialogue in the game's reference him killing, but this feels right, your evidence backing everything up, ending the game and low chaos but still having blood on your hands, that's Dishonored.
I don’t know, i like non lethal better if i’m being honest. It just makes him more badass as someone who took down his foes without even killing them. Killing guards certainly doesn’t seem right to me, considering they’re just as fooled as the public so it wouldn’t make any sense. Killing key targets like lady boyle or pendletons seem like Corvo’s style.
I feel like the canon is Corvo did kill some people just not many and all the main targets were eliminated non lethally. You can gather that by future canon media. Like since Corvo and Slackjaw became friends that likely means in DH Corvo did the non lethal elimination of the Pendletons, the ex High Overseer is also confirmed to still be alive in exile in the future meaning the Heretics Brand elimination for him is also canon, Lady Boyle is the only one that's never confirmed either way, as The Lord Regents non lethal is also confirmed due to the fact Hiram Barrows being responsible for the plague is something the common people know, so it means that the announcements were made about him and he got arrested. Then Daud is also still alive too, since he then has his own novels. So it's safe to assume none of the main targets in the first game were killed by Corvo. Though I think he likely did still kill some people in the first game, just obviously the under 20% needed for low chaos.
I mean doing murder without any murder does seem stupid and honestly the more I think of it the more annoyed I am with it that I just didn't cut a couple to make it a bit easier.
When Corvo won the fighting tournament his mother became sad and depressed, she was likely to end her own life because she felt as if everyone she loved was taken away from her. First her husband, then her daughter and finally her young boy that she was so proud of. You can visit Corvo's old house in Dishonored 2. There is...a special something waiting behind the wall.
I actually kinda saw the twists in the games via level design. For example, Spoilers, in the first game I thought it was weird why the Hound Pits Pub was layed out similarly to the "missions" so I figured either a siege was gonna go down or I'd have to fight against the loyalists.
The low chaos ending of dishonored is canon as the health elixirs in dishonored 2 are called S and J elixirs from when Sokolov and Joplin join forces to cure the plague in the low chaos ending
King J. Grim hey man I just found your channel yesterday and I love your videos keep doing what you're doing but I was wondering if you can make some videos on the book of Dishonored or even the comic books like telling everyone who Zhukov is idk if I spelled his name right hopefully I did but I noticed not a lot of people have actually made videos about the book and I was thinking it would be great to hear your opinion and it could help you gain subscribers just a thought again I absolutely love your content keep up the great work :)
I think I can sum up Corvo's actions like this: He will have avenging the Empress as his goal so long as it does not come at the expense of Emily's safety. He hates wasting time, and does not indulge in unnecessary or cruel actions that do not serve his two previously stated goals.
Quick note: the audiograph also contains the Regent's confession that he was the one who imported the Pandyssian(not sure about the spelling?) plaque rats.
In the DLC intro, Daud says this. "A mad killer roams the streets by night, seeking revenge" The House of Pleasure mission where Corvo apparently murdered people takes place at daytime. Havelock's notes say that he killed people in that mission though, so you're not wrong. But the thing Daud said leads me to believe that Corvo wasn't a maniac for only one mission. He could have also killed a lot of people in "High Overseer Chambell" but decided that the Heretics brand is worse than death, which is why he didn't kill Chambell.
Many of the stages are at night time, so there is that. Plus, in D2, we do know that Corvo did gt medium chaos, as the picture Emily draws shows this. Though I doubt Corvo killed anyone during the Campbell mission, as I have a feeling of if he did, the overseers would probably understand that he was branded, and then use that as am n excuse to keep Thaddeus in the High Overseer position
King J. Grim Good point. Now that I think about it, it does make more sense if Chambell is cast out with Corvo going stealth in that mission. Because people would assume that he may have branded the High Overseer. Thx
King J. Grim Then again, if you were to kill guards, cause chaos, and spare Cambell, he would still be cast out. That was just something I forgot to think about.
Dragonspeaks In that case don't try to play the hole game doing ghost, nonlethal, with out using powers or upgrades so yea.... no blink or anything.... It's honestly pretty fun.
But you literally can't complete the game without powers. When Daud throws you in his prison you can't get out without either agility, blink or possession.
+Loneboar_ - Sadly that's true for two parts of the game that I know of. The part you just said and the very start of Dunwall Tower because in the water elevator you need to go up it but it's Impossible to make the jump unless you use blink or have agility unlocked. Or at least when I tried it without those powers I always would end up a foot or two under the spot and could not find any other way up other than that.... and trust me I looked for hours. But yea other then those very small parts the other 99% of the game you can completely do without any powers!
King J. Grim Well, though rushed, definitely was a great quality. You've made claims and provided evidence, rarely assumed, and pointed out the little things casual gamers like me might've missed. Damned good job
King J. Grim the video is great, just slow down a bit, sometimes it's hard to catch up:) keep up good work, do some special when you'll hit 10k point;)
Orest Markheva I'm going to write subtitles for this video, so it'll be easier to follow. Always had a problem with the speed of my talking. And yes, I will definitively do something special when I reach 10k :D
Commercial breaks, entertainment clips within the video itself so that I get time to collect and process information without missing anything... Oh and enough time to make popcorn so that takes 2 minutes? (Feedback) Good quality videos truly.
I found the moments when he gave in to his impulses and massacred an unknown number of people, but in the end spared Daud's life, right on the brink of satisfying his desire for revenge but stopping at the last moment, and letting the assassin live to be the most... interesting.
9:08 I agree with the concept of him going through and causing a riot; when you find Emily, she is hiding behind an upturned table as if to protect herself from the door.
the empress and Corvo had a 6 year age difference I think. Since he was 16 when he won the tournament, served in the royal guard for two years until becoming royal protector of the empress when she was 12. Corvo wouldve been 18 by then.
I really like your style. First video i'v seen of yours but you know how to present yourself and there is just the right amount of humorous interjection and good editing to keep the viewer engaged. Subbed
Here are what I think Corvo’s canon powers were: Blink, bend time, shadow kill, agility, vitality, and dark vision. He never blows gusts of wind, summons rats, or possesses people in the books and from what I’ve seen the comics.
Merc at Arms wyrmwood deceit comics. Also I don’t think Corvo has shadow kill because in the Dishonored 2 intro he kills 3 guards and they don’t turn to ash. But I think after Dishonored 1 Corvo probably fully upgraded his powers
Sir Snipington I’m thinking Shadow level 1. In one of the Duad DLC’s we see Corvo Shadow kill a Whaler who was unaware of him. Though that could have just been the game reacting to my high chaos?
Merc at Arms yes if you go with high chaos then corvo will kill the whaler and turn to ash. But canonically it’s low chaos (which is why Daud is still alive) so Corvo choked the whaler as seen in low chaos

I've always thought it would have been better if the Loyalists only betray Corvo if he kills too many people. If you play on low chaos, they should have an alternate few chapters that have you protecting Emily as the Loyalists attempt to see her safely to the throne.

This probably isn't going to be noticed, but Corvo could've neutralised the Lord Regent (to do what's right) and still killed the interrogator. Having gone through torture for so long, Corvo likely realised how cruel and pointless his interrogation was and decided that the interrogator was too dangerous to deserve to live

Ye or maybe their are different lines according to things that happen this time around!
I know that now, but luckily that point in my analysis is not really an important factor to the video as a whole
It's specified in the book that Corvo killed Hiram
Corvo: snaps Bellow’s neck
*It’s business*
Corvo: shoots Havelock’s face with his own gun
*It’s personal*
Just a fun fact: in my native language (Italian) Corvo means "crow". I think that the creators did this on purpose, because even "Attano" respects the standards of an italian surname. Just wanted to share this information :)
Just like Piero, Giovanni e Luigi Galvani ahah, viva l'Italia
At the comic u can see he is using the bpind to skill to teleport to aroof where there are some. Crows then you see him, very good touch of Bethesda
Serkonos is actually meant to represent italy, (I mean, Luca (though abele is a old german surname)
@@toasterofdoom9629 to be honest a german surname wouldnt be too uncommon in Northern italy considering its bordered by Austria and Switzerland
Corvo is from Serkonos which is supposed to be heavily based off of Mediterranean cultures especially Spanish and Italian.
"He wants them to see his face"

You drop the mask if you choose to call the lord regent
I love that in-depth analysis of Corvo's decisions, very great vid. One thing i'd want to notice is that Corvo doesn't have to kill Havelock during the final mission. Havelock is depressed, he knows that he made lots of mistakes, and his suicidal attempt to kill Corvo looks so pathetic because the former lord-protector became insanely powerful. Damn, he's able to stop the time! This is the end of the story, Havelock's almost harmless... Noone needs another dead body.
Which makes the suicide for him seem more likely

I've always seen Corvo as never being seen, heard, or known he was there. Really the only evidence he left behind was his target (for the ones he did kill) and the one time he signed the guest book

this makes me think it was a bug that he becomes hostile if taking at any other point
No?
I’ve seen a video of him starting to attack when taking key when well, he says it. (forgor channel/title)
@@someguy1894 It absolutely works this way for me. The timing is precise. Somewhere between "Here" and "is yours" is where you have to pick it up for him to not be hostile.
You can also grab the key while he is still walking towards it and thus doesnt see you take it but will do the speech anyway

@@L_Lawliet1907 nah bruh that just makes him sound like batman

I actually kinda saw the twists in the games via level design. For example, Spoilers, in the first game I thought it was weird why the Hound Pits Pub was layed out similarly to the "missions" so I figured either a siege was gonna go down or I'd have to fight against the loyalists.

Thank you! If there is anything you think I can do to improve, then please give some feedback! But only if you feel like it of course :)
Awesome Video man. I loved it. Really helped contextualize my play-through and decide my actions as Corvo in dishonored 2.
My first playthrough was with that mindset as well.
Anyway, happy you liked the video!
I think I can sum up Corvo's actions like this:
He will have avenging the Empress as his goal so long as it does not come at the expense of Emily's safety. He hates wasting time, and does not indulge in unnecessary or cruel actions that do not serve his two previously stated goals.
i loved when you said lord regent and the captions said asshat lol
Might as well be his real title... screw him!!!
Quick note: the audiograph also contains the Regent's confession that he was the one who imported the Pandyssian(not sure about the spelling?) plaque rats.
Also, Harvey Smith has stated Corvo did actually spare Daud.
Barney Norris yes, in the sequel the outsider makes a reference when you go to one of the altars.
You can definitely beat the tar out of him and then sheathe your weapons and walk away.
He lives, got locked up for some reason, billie lurk saves him and they go after the outsider himself.
That's all we know.
YOU SPELLED PANDYSSIAN RIGHT BUT NOT MOTHERFUCKING PLAGUE?!?!? HOW?
“The true OTP! DAMN YOU DAUD!” I 1000% relate to that statement so much man lol
Man i choked on my coffee when i saw this lol
This is like, "It's all Mikey's fault" anime meme. XD
i guess corvo is just getting older, and has already done so much he just stopped caring
I think my heart broke a little when Corvo saw the statue behind Daud. I think it was the music that did it.
12:19 on page 146 of the corroded man it says “their rein of terror ended when Corvo killed burrows himself” so yes he died
"Who did Corvo kill? " In my playthrough? Everyone.
Same
Corvo is like if Ezio gained teleportation powers and I love it, so badass
"Honor for All" (song from the credit's of Dishonored) always sends shivers down my spine.
I love it to bits
Ethan Muncy True, but I think the game would be hard to make if every logical process were taken into account
King J. Grim Yeah, if it did, Dishonored 1 may have came out this year.
In dishonored 2 sparing daud is the cannon
So I was right on that part of my video. Noice!
Fighting & sparing him after his plea (like at the end of the Daud DLC, low chaos), not just stealing his shit & moving on.
We all know this you fucking cabbage
Who else chuckles when he says "DAMN YOU DAUD"
Meh
Personally I just stole all the elixer instead of even trying to poison it.
fireball taco I needed it because I suck at the game...
Dragonspeaks In that case don't try to play the hole game doing ghost, nonlethal, with out using powers or upgrades so yea.... no blink or anything.... It's honestly pretty fun.
fireball taco you sound so pretentious.
What did you enjoy the most/least of the video?
It'll help alot if you could give me some feedback!
King J. Grim
Well, though rushed, definitely was a great quality.
Eliminate could mean, remove from power.
That was exactly the thing that crossed my mind first...doesn't necessarily mean he wants to kill them, just...neutralize
I am well aware of that, wrote my explaination on the subtitles :)
Go to the top comment.
Somehow i Daud that.
I like to imagine corvo as being highly chaotic in his methods but only ever killing the enemy, never directly hurting civilians
the empress and Corvo had a 6 year age difference I think.

Here are what I think Corvo’s canon powers were:
Blink, bend time, shadow kill, agility, vitality, and dark vision.
He never blows gusts of wind, summons rats, or possesses people in the books and from what I’ve seen the comics.
Corvo does use Windblast and Devouring Swarm in the comics
Sir Snipington ah ok.
Which comic? Obviously I haven’t read it so I’d like to
Merc at Arms wyrmwood deceit comics. Also I don’t think Corvo has shadow kill because in the Dishonored 2 intro he kills 3 guards and they don’t turn to ash. But I think after Dishonored 1 Corvo probably fully upgraded his powers
Sir Snipington
I’m thinking Shadow level 1.
In one of the Duad DLC’s we see Corvo Shadow kill a Whaler who was unaware of him.
Though that could have just been the game reacting to my high chaos?
Merc at Arms yes if you go with high chaos then corvo will kill the whaler and turn to ash. But canonically it’s low chaos (which is why Daud is still alive) so Corvo choked the whaler as seen in low chaos

one thing i like about dishonored. is there are no "bosses" or bullet sponges. you can just walk up to anyone and one swift stab is all it takes.
But that’s the thing, isn’t it? The question of morality that is: who are you when nobody can stop you?
@@reefnoyman1163 I mean you start out pretty weak. And frankly the whole roster of baddies has it coming. I just think it’s a more realistic approach (despite all the magic and bs). That even the biggest baddest enemies you can just walk up to and shank. It really shows how people of power are weak and normal when you remove the systems that protect them, ya know when there isn’t an elite guard unit, the propaganda machine, and the secret police between ya.
When I was young I thought it was a glitch that Havelock turns hostile when you grab the key, it makes more sense now that he was probably just trying to lower Corvos guard.
I've always thought it would have been better if the Loyalists only betray Corvo if he kills too many people. If you play on low chaos, they should have an alternate few chapters that have you protecting Emily as the Loyalists attempt to see her safely to the throne.

Why did Corvo spare Daud when he heard Jessemine say that she didn't forgive him? Isn't that kinda going against her wishes?
no she just clearly hates him and wonders why he would bring her here because he would know her opinion, she doesn't wish for him to die she just states that corvo should do whatever he came here to do (sparing or killing him would be up to corvo) she doesn't want to be a influence in the decision because she is inherently bias
