This is how the clone wars ends, no winning, only losing.
The Senate won.
Palpatine won this round
The only winner is the SENATE!
Palpatine won in the short run but failed to see the consequences in the long run. All of a sudden he had a bunch of enhanced individuals running around causing a LOT of trouble.
Valaglar Propaganda Company the senate wouldn’t have lost. It’s sad to realize that he actually did put together the perfect plan. If the Jedi survived order 66 they were seen as traitors, if the republic fell in battle (however unlikely it may have been) he was still in control of the CIS and would have just switched robes that way, if the Jedi had taken him prisoner the masses would have been in an uproar and possibly turned on the Jedi that way. The Senate knew exactly what he was doing in the clone wars.

@@Kevin-ek4fi *Low ground.
Master Kenobi. You survived
I think commander Bly has the saddest story though... I know Rex's was sad, but Rex nor Ahsoka died.
Imagine hearing that your leader and friend, who has led you and your brothers* through one of the most horrifying and nightmare-inducing theatres of war in the galaxy, is actually a traitor conspiring to destroy everything you've been fighting to protect. He was obligated to comply, but he still saw her as his friend. So, man set his gun to full auto, caught her by surprise, and gunned down Aayla Secura. I agree with the excessive fire being a mercy kill, especially based on how the 501st Journal spoke about her.
Idk I think Rex's was sadder. He had to physically decide whether or not he would gun down his innocent good friend or the brainwashed comrades who fought under his command for years. He ended up having to kill every single clone under his command just because he knew the order was wrong and couldn't remove their chips in time.
“No clone should go out this way, we are loyal soldiers, we follow orders, but we are not a bunch of unthinking droids, we are men, we must be trusted to make the right decisions, especially when the orders we are given are wrong.” - Fives
Jesse should have had a flashback of when he and Five’s were also about to get executed for treason.
If Jesse could have done that he would have, but he was 100% brainwashed
He lowered his weapons on Rex when they were talking (signs Jesse would've let Ahsoka live), but the inhibitor chip was too strong.
It was so hard to watch Jesse in this episode 😢 he was a good clone trooper.
Jaffar Allahuiten I’m still an avid believer that the chip made it near impossible to resist. Jesse was a good soldier and seeing his arc from his first appearance to now is bittersweet. I think most clones didn’t want to turn on their Jedi, especially if they had known it was all apart of Palpatines plan, but the chips made it extremely difficult not to comply with. Commanders likely had more leeway, as they were more independent, but the enlisted troops simply had no choice.

No, the lightsaber went through his neck.
Am I a bad person for laughing at this?
Cody’s “cold hearted response” to Order 66 isn’t actually considered canon. The dramatization of ROTS and the “bloody lightsaber” line are both in the Legends category.
So technically speaking, Cody probably felt something once learning he’d turned on Kenobi.
He could’ve even given the specific instructions he did just because he figured it would be less likely to kill than sending a LAAT or an ARC-170 after Kenobi
I don't like some part of the legends about Order 66.
This is why I love the inhibitor chips because the clones were not themselves after shooting down some of their generals. Kenobi saved Cody many times so I like to believe Cody tricked the inhibitor chip and convince himself that Kenobi will survive.
Maybe Cody knew obi wan would survive, otherwise I believe he would have gotten the tank to shoot directly at Obi, killing him, instead he got the tank to fire at wall Obi was using, so that he would just get knocked down into the river. Cody knew obi could survive that. BUT HEY, THATS JUST A THEORIZING, A STAR WARS THEORIZING ( I referenced both Killian and MATPAT)

"If you were a clone commander, how would you react to the order being issued?" For me it all depends on the jedi i work with. If it's a jedi that i had no interaction or formed a friendship with, I would most likely execute the order without hesitation. I would probably feel a little hesitant, but i would certainly execute that jedi without question. However, if it's a jedi i've been friends with for several years, i would most likely be shocked, confused and question the order for a split second before succumbing to the inhibitor chip's programming and executing that jedi.
You don't a program chip when you are a lab product and indoctrinated to be obedient. In the real world it only took a few months or years to make people executing geonicide, so a clone would do it without any regret

It makes a lot of sense, Jedi aren’t meant to show affection so they weren’t close with their troops, Asoka and anakin are the exception and hence their close relationship with Rex caused him to hesitate
Ooh! That's a good twist :)
Yeah people don’t realize that situation was a special case. Anakin was very compassionate about who he fought with and his companions, which passed down to Ahsoka as well. This can be seen in the episode where Anakin puts full trust in R2 and Mace despises Anakin for caring about a droid. Jedi didn’t care about who they fought with or people they deemed lesser. They only cared for themselves.
@Patrick Heneghan Anakin fulfilled his prophecy. He brought balance to the force. The jedi were becoming burecratic and dogmatic since the time of the old Republic. By destroying the old order he allowed the jedi order to rebuild under Luke. But Luke screwed it up.
@Patrick Heneghan LOL, there is no sequel. The sequels aren't Canon for me. I'm taking the mandalorian as the sequel to the return of the jedi. The only good thing that came out from Disney since they took over is the mandalorian, rogue one and clone wars S7

@@ea.fitz216 he made a typo, calm down. @@zeeeone Maul considered himself a Sith. His allegiance with Savage was to create a new Sith Order to rival Sidious and Dooku. However, when Sidious showed up, he tried to get him to accept him as his apprentice again, which Sidious refused, and the three Sith dueled. It was only when the Empire rose that he realised his wishes were dead, and he abandoned the Sith to focus on his only purpose, killing Kenobi, alone.
@@ea.fitz216 and which part of that contradicts anything I said? Sure, he considered himself a sith, but that does not mean he was one. How did Captain Rex get Commander Wolf & Captain Gregor to remove their inhibitor chips?
Rags Riches i was expecting that to be shown in the finale but sadly it wasn’t
Rags Riches that’s what im saying. The ending was poetic, but I feel like it needed one more scene before the Vader one
MrPotato876 hopefully its left open to interperetation because more content is being planned

Something with Gregor that could be an interesting topic
Gregor was a Commando, and the clone commandos were far more independent that most clones, much like the first batch of ARC Troopers like Fordo and Alpha-17

Agreed m8.
Also rex tried to fight it but his chip forced him
Unfortunately, Disney being the c*nts they are, retconed Gray's heroism in the Bad Batch.
The reason why Rex could even temporarily resist the inhibitor chip could be attributed to the fact that, (beside he liked Ahsoka) Ahsoka by the strictest definition of Order 66 was neither Jedi nor leading officer and the fact that he knew about the chips in the first place.
I can’t just imagine being a clone trying to kill your master the reason why you exist the person who has protected you and supported you your entire existence to try to gun them down must have been so heartbreaking and traumatic.
Clones: the Jedi are our friends
2 seconds later: so I just started blasting
Dang your explanation on Bly's motives had me shook. Didnt realize he was trying to work out the odds for Aayla and still killing her was the kindest option; and yet it looked so sadistic on film. Very complex.
This all comes from a novel written before the Clone Wars series was even thought of; thus before inhibitor chips were canon. The personal accounts he described are most likely Legends now. He seems to be trying to merge Legends content with canon, which wouldn’t bother me if he told us he was. We can postulate that the feelings expressed were similar to how they were in Legends, but that just leads to more inconsistencies and we must put most of the responsibility on the chip.
bh5496 They are legends
Anakin Skywalker I literally just said that.
bh5496 Fair enough lol
The planet's shitty environment would have killed her slowly and terribly if she somehow survived it, anyways. They reportedly cared about her. If you're going to do it, make sure they don't suffer.
Cody is still my favourite Star Wars character and i feel as though his reaction to order 66 fits with his character perfectly, though him and kenobi may have been friends, an order is an order, and he did at least check it was coming from the chancellor before telling his men to shoot at him.
Idk if we can use the EP3 Novelization in Cody’s case as when it was written it was assumed they planned it all along and that it wasn’t forced via chip or brainwashing. In my head, Cody’s loyalty and admiration of Kenobi supersedes the order, but he must obey none the less because if he doesn’t, someone else WILL. So he orders the AT whatever to fire at Kenobi, yes with intent to kill. But Kenobi and Cody have served together for a long time, and Cody has seen Jedi survive longer falls. They see an opportunity subliminally to let Kenobi get away, by fooling themselves and the chip into thinking that he must have died from the fall.

Palpatine: Execute order 67 wait what NO NO NO!!!
Storm troopers: *starts shooting Sith Lords*
"storm troopers"
*so uncivilized*
Barbarian how can you say this word storm......trooper
Technically they were storm troopers even before the Empire, they were made for rapid deployment. Even though there was a separate shock trooper division, they were all shock troopers in their own right, backing up the various militias and planetary defense forces.
A S i t h Lord?
Ummm.... Executive Order 67 was a proclamation signed by Chief of State Deelor Noedeel which ordered the Third Jedi Order to pursue diplomatic relations with the New Sith Order
Rex: Find him, Fund fives!
Cody: So anyway i started blasting
fund
Rex: hesitates
Cody: YEET
8:45 That transition from the show to the movie was chilling.
It’s incredible that clone wars was so good in humanizing and personalizing the clones. It really made them unique despite their exact similar appearance.
"To defeat an opponent with the high ground, you must first destroy the high ground" - Commander Cody's Art of War.
Well in the 501st journal there's lines about how well Aayla Secura treated the clones and how the narrator wished her death as painless as possible. So I personally think it was a conscious decision on the clones' part.
Edit:
Quote taken from wookiepedia-
our only hope was Aayla Secura, our Jedi commander. Without her iron will, none of us would have come out of that mess with our sanity, or our lives. When her death came, I hope it was quick. She earned that much."
"When the 501st was finally rotated out of Felucia, Aayla Secura made a point of seeing us off personally, calling us the bravest soldiers she had ever seen. It's a good thing we were wearing helmets, because none of us could bear to look her in the eye."
The 501st journal is old cannon, before the inhibitor chips were introduced. In actual cannon the chips take away their free will, so the decision was not their own.
Phineas_Noremac no but it warps your perception. So you can really like your commander but if you aren’t 100% iron willed. You’re mind will change to allow murdering them.
Rex: Who in the world would betray there Jedi at three in the Morning?
- *Execute order 66* -
Cody: OH BOY 3:00AM!
first 3:00 AM Jedi purge challenge 😂😭
😂😂😂
Yay at least the clones only have to ninja kill the the Jedi instead of risking there lives in battle
Rex: Why are you killing jedi at 4 am?
Cody: because I've lost control of my life.
I like the spongebob reference
3:09 "...Cody and a great many other clones too, probably would have executed the order even without the inhibitor chips."
That line broke me.
This is an amazing video. I've read a lot of 66 work (Disney, legends, fanfic) and I've never really seen it put together like this. Especially the entire thing about loyal soldiers told by their supreme commander that their generals are traitors being linked to the terrible tactics. I think this is a great way to balance the chips and bred loyalty while also allowing for someone like Rex to happen. Thanks for the vid.
You can literally hear the difference in his voice.
what happened? i noticed it too
Paddy Wall probably the last episode. It was pretty sad.
His younger self traveled forward in time, recorded this than upload it lol
@@paddywall8531 It's his brother who is doing the vids atm, not sure why though, geetslys must be busy probably (it's why they also keep making "cloning jokes", because their voices are so similar)
Who Rex? Yeah his voice sounded more robotic
I kinda want to see how Fives would react to order 66 if he had survived...
He will be that one clone that yell " I KNEW IT! I FAKING KNEW IT! NONE OF YALL BELIEVED ME BUT I WAS RIGHT!"
Then proceeds to execute the order
@Dragongamer 7 I know, i realized that after I wrote the comment..
@@randyyeh7576 yeah instead he would've executed order 65 if you know what I mean...
@@DaDARKPass or order 55 if you know what I mean...
You guys mean Order 37? If you know what I mean.
if he did yell that, he would be gunned down immediately
Omg Ayla's death is now heartbreaking
I can't remember where I read it, but apparently Bly and his men were actually sobbing underneath their helmets as they opened fire on Secura.
Now we need a series with the Empire art style at the end along with the clones with Vader’s fist. I think that would be very cool
I second this! I like that concept.
Yeah, with an arch covering the second Thrawn novel (second of the new Thrawn books I mean)
Yeah, perhaps we could see more of Commander Appo.
Kermit the God I wuz so pissed man Rebels needa go thru a re-do with this animation style man took my breath away seeing a clone wars animated Vader like the rebel one is aight but nun compared too this last episode 😍💯
@Donat Prodan I had a commander appo toy when I was little he came with CP if I only knew back then what I know now 🥺😪

Other clone commanders: haha blasters go pew

Truer words have never been spoken regarding Clone Wars
Captain Rex is my man - despite being forced to do it he was hesitant and eventually got his chip removed for the best reason - MY MAN
Rex: "No! You can't shoot the Jedi General! They've been loyal commanders for the Republic!"
Cody: "Ha ha! Jedi go boom and blaster go brrrrr!"
stolen meme
I was pretty mad the title didn’t match the actual meme
I feel like Rex only held back and tried not to shoot Ashoka was because he knew what was going on, he knew about the chips, none of the other commanders did
2:07 props to the trooper who stood there and held up the door while under blaster fire
Happy Star Wars Day guys.
happy star wars day
TCWS7E12 SPOILER WARNING
Also, you didn't deserve to die in the end
Palpatine: Execute Order 66
Cmdr Bly: I'm sorry, little one.
Don’t forget about Commander Gray, Depa Billaba and Caleb Dume’s (Kanan) Clone Commander. Although he executed Order 66 and killed Billaba, he later came to his senses when he encountered Kanan later again. He realized that something compelled the clones to turn on the Jedi they trusted and befriended, so he sacrificed himself to give Kanan the opportunity to escape.
The question is “does order 66 end at some point?” Cause I remember Tup when he woke up after being rescued he was in disbelief when they told him he shot his general
So do they all go back to normal afterwards?
Antaqua In Rebels Kanan says that "They told me it wasnt their fault, it was the chips" or something like that.. the only way a clone could have told him that was after Order 66 had 'worn off'... and i would assume it does anyhow.. no need to actively hunt Jedi when there arent any?
Madlad Of A Brit yeah exactly! And in the comics a rogue Jedi “re activates” order 66 on some inquisitors, so I guess it does deactivate
his inhibitor chip was damaged, which is why he was unconcious and the others while executing the order was not
Most of us have our regrets, but the order already happened. There is nothing we can do about Palpatine, so everyone is just giving in. Personally, I don't like the Empire, nor do I like the "Regular Stormtroopers". However, I am loyal to my brothers, and will stay with them until I am the last.
perhaps the chip has limited batteries
Why is Depa Billaba considered a Traitor?
Also, the story of commander Bly is so sad. I wasn't expecting mercy in such a cruel way.
She kinda turned to the dark side.
Andrew Nguyen In canon or legends?
And what about Quinlun Vos?
@@AndyDanny47 what did she do to turn to the dark side?
@@AndyDanny47 So that's why they said that. Thank you! Hope you have a nice day!
One thing i gathered was Cody's regert over shooting Obi-Wan didn't come till after the Empire shelfed him in Kamino. He died a bitter man with many regrets, believing he killed his best friend being one of them.
Most clones disliked the jedi for getting there brothers killed. I first saw this in the Star wars Commandos books. For a long time I thought the clones were traitors but I could never imagine Rex hurting Anakin or Ahsoka. And I was relived when rebels showed that he didn't follow the order.
May the fourth be with you all and the revenge of the fifth
no it's "those who don't celebrate may fourth will be subjected to the revenge of the fifth"
The fourth will be with you... always...
