Although I've heard this song all my life, I'm 73, I only recently learned the name. Good thing, or I'd never have found this excellent performance.
Same here! (except I'm just a youngster of 67). Good to put a name to the tune!
They did a terrific job on a tune that has a lot of musical twists and turns. And they did it with grace, style, talent, spirit, and humor.
I remember my grandfather playing the song on the harmonica. He was born in 01 and died in 91. He grew up working on Ranchs in Nevada. Apparently, he was exposed to the Irish culture during long winters and hot summer celebrations during his life. I thank God for him. May he rest in peace.
