yes, I agree they look like fire truck headghts... and not necessarily of the 30's either. Some trucks like Brockways kept teardrops up until the mid 50's.
Weather changing so much that I have felt miserable and no energy, like a car hit me. I always have fun watching your videos like a six year old watching cartoons. I think of headlights I have seen on trucks with a marker light right on top the headlight and it might just be a running light or a signal stat light. Getting close to insurance and tags time... those are the best of times if it were just a one time thing it would really be scotch. I been "older" for a while now and my licence plate I just move forward to each rig. a two dollar transfer fee. I don't know but I used to have a few left as I went to doctors offices, I left boxes of unopened magazines from the forties and up. I just got tired of lugging them around. While I was there, I seen people tuck them in their shirt pockets and it made me happy to see them finally read. The biggest shock was the ones who read them. Lawyer/doctor type and one receptionist took them home for her family. Nice so far. I get phone calls a few times a day about this stupid virus an it is driving me crazy. I just hung up on a time bandit guy who is trying to claim the world is ending... it is for some species every day and the world has been here for how many billion and we are not real sure how long we have been here but judging by a calender or two, maybe four or more thousand. He said he was low on TP and the store didn't have any, I told him I bought wash clothes for just a few bucks for just a few more could of bought the large container they sell out of. Hell stop at goodwill and buy cheap shirts and pants or what not and use them and toss. I used to buy rag bags there and always got the best harley t shirts that were new but unacceptable picture or word. DAMN BRENT!!!! That is bad ass. LOVE IT. You got the think it do it attitude . Get it done. Man I learn alot. I'm 62 and built alot of cars but you show me I've been taking the long rt
Glad that you kept the round headlight buckets [ with newer electrical internal components] - other hot rodder's have ruined the looks of their 1930's hot rods by installing modern style rectangular headlights on their cars. Looking forward to see what paint job and detail work you have planned for the outside and inside of the car. Best wishes from a Canadian Fan.
Your work is amazing I really love watching you, I have a did you know question that I learned the answer to in 1970 while attending Nashville Auto Diesel College. Watching you brazing the headlight housings I thought of a trick from 1970 that I have used often in the last 50 years, if you take a number 2 lead pencil and mark on bare metal braze won’t cross it unless it’s so deep it has no choice so if you draw a straight line you get a straight line or a perfect circle or whatever you draw. I just thought if you didn’t know it might help you sometime and that would make this old man happy to know I was able to help someone with your skills in a small way. God Bless and keep the videos coming I love them all
I collect and restore old marine search lights, I was stuck for a reflector for one that was sized for an 11 inch lens, then I discovered stainless mixing bowls Some are even parabolic to aid in stamping them out. and they come in incremental sizes from 4 inches to 12 inches.. a perfect fix for under 10 bucks.
Another great video. Making it work. It didnt bother me nearly as much watching you braze with the small tip. I was worried it was going to blow a hole. Love seein the happy dogs in the video.
OH BOY ! Brazing I'd rather braze than mig weld. Brazing looks cool especially if you find it under 35 or 40 year old white lightning plastic filler. However, heaven forbid I grid off that old filler even if it has a crack in it and there's signs of surface rust under it. That my friend is a badge of honor .How long has that been there ...and you can't fake that. The lights sit so well on those fenders and are very pleasing to lines of the car.
