As a debt collector with 20+ years experience, these Sheriffs are very good at their jobs, however I suspect sometimes they're a little too lenient on debtors when making agreements.
I'm pretty sure the cases they're involved with on this show are hand picked to make them look like the good guys. I'm sure they've all thrown a few broke tenants on the street on the say-so of dodgy landlords, or collected completely unjustified debts that debtors weren't aware of so couldn't contest before...

Aggh !! The pain of this process!!! I was letting a property to a non-paying tenant, and even after going to Court they still did not leave. This went on for 10 months !!!! I actually ended up instructing this company to do the job and my tenant was gone in 4 weeks !! Can't recommend them enough. Safe to say, it put me off letting out my property for a long while :')
Unfortunately this is down to the council process as even tho your tenants have been told to leave the council won’t help people unltill they are handed the writ of possession by the high court enforcement it’s a ball ache for the tenants also
According to google it can cost anywhere between £250-£1000+ (plus VAT) for obtaining and enforcing a CCJ, depending on which methods are used. You may pursue enforcement action if the CCJ is still unpaid after 14 days have passed since it was granted. You can either transfer the execution to the High Court for enforcement
The fees come from them needing to get the sheriffs to come collect your money. If you have a debt then you’re responsible for paying it off. Especially if it is relatively low in amount. Also, a lot of these people haven’t paid in a long time so that adds to the fees.
