i have the k&f, the footage start to get very heavy vignetting even at stop 4, i pair it with rf 15-35, it gets better at 25mm, it is possible to fix it in the post but i rather not, this specific filter ruined many of my travel shots.
A set of fixed NDs, especially with one of those magnetic quick swap systems, will perform a lot better and you can fill in the gaps in coverage with small changes to shutter speed and/or f-stop.
just don't buy Variable ND filter... they're all pretty terrible it's just how they work that makes them terrible... a decent set of fixed ND filters go for like $60 for common sizes... or you just buy a matte box and a set of filter for like $150 and you can use it on any lense
Just don't use Variable NDs. Id rather ruin the shot by cranking up the shutter speed. Fake motion blur could be added in post. But the green vignette is harder to fix in post.
That's a smart move but if you ever buy again in the future the Nissi Swift systemic seriously legit I switched from K&F and there is no color cast or vignetting and you can stack their CPl and Mist Filter.
@@Max_filmatic_music Yes k&f vr nd filters do have color cast but not this one. That's why i bought it. I searched the best nd filter up to 100 and was shocked by this one that is only $60 it even smoked some nd in $200 range 😆. I hate color cast and detail loss. I'm gona buy nisi square nd filter when my matebox arrive 😁
YES! IT'S AMAZING! I'm all about original detail and color of the lens so when I saw that I don't lose any sharpness and color is accurate my jaw dropped. My 7artisan 50mm t1.05 is not that sharp so I didn't want to lose any more detail. This ND start to vignette at 9.5 and than hard x pattern at 10 stops, but no vignette at 8 stops at all. I shot at iso 100 during the day but if you use camera with native iso 600 and above 8 stop will not be enough unless you bring lens down to t8!
Just got a new lens and so need to look at a new VND. 82mm mounts are expensive but definetly will be worth watching the full video when I get to buying one. Last was K&F and was fine, but it was the budget option. Foe 82mm nothing is budget
I need varible ND filters for the lenses I use in my Nikon D5500. The following lenses are Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-F4, Tamron 18-200mm, Youngnou 35mm and Youngnou 50mm.
Goes to show how all of those are just tools. Some makes the job easier than others. But nevertheless, with good problem-solving skills, as long as you get the job done, you're doing alright.
Used two versions of the K&F, both had really severe X-ing. One completely unusable (that one also did horrible things to colors) and one only usable on about half its range. Would not recommend, no matter how cheap.
I personally recommend fixed ones, as variable ones tend to be more expensive, and most importantly, you get color cast. Color Cast completely ruins your image, on one corner it would look purple, and on the other corner it would look blue, this is why I never buy variable ones.

Wide lenses tend to get vignette. So its better to get a larger filter and step up.

I glued on some hard stops to my vnd and now it's impossible to get a green vignette
@@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 Wait explain this, why is that.
Mine was very soft. It turned some footages blurry. And some photos too!
can you mention the others Filter that you compared with the K&F?

Definitely not recommend this method for video.
@Walkers United sometimes it’s actually easier to color correct the video than add fake motion blur
Vario ND is just two CPL slap together
What's the difference between A, B, C, D, K series? This product is very minimal information
Also use the KF ND filter that I bought 3 or 4 years ago and there is just a bit of a color shift but no vignette. I use 18 mm on the crop sensor
After hardest research in history i bought k&F VR nd, but 3-10 stops. Very dark at 8 stops and no vignette cause it happens at 10 stops 😁

Same with tokoya nd filters

@ie.satsuei which one would be good for around 100 quid

Why not change the shuter speed but put a nd filter
Because in video you set shutter speed by the 180 degree rule and don’t change it
