Great to hear solid reviews of Sauvage from an expert, without the "It's way too popular" negativity. I've enjoyed the EDT, Parfum and Elixer. I wear them because I enjoy them and they make me feel delicious. Thanks Aaron. I'll be keeping an eye out for some of your work here in New Zealand.

@@paolom.6011 It's popularity seems to be an issue for some. Elixir is the best in the range and there's not as many people wearing it, at least where I'm from. So i'll go ahead and continue to enjoy wearing it. Maybe you could suggest some fragrances that are as good as Sauvage but more, original?

Thats so fascinating about the ambroxan crystalizing and dropping out. 100 years ago in high school we were finding the saturation point with sugar/water. Crazy to think that could happen with a fragrance.

I noticed the ambroxan dropping personally because I experimented with my ambroxan little bottle I purchased for some testings :)
I really enjoy the Parfum… it’s my favourite among the EDT,EDP, and Itself. I love Elixir was well.
I’ll always keep the Parfum and Elixir in my collection.
The parfum and elixir are the two to own. The parfum for the office and daily wear. The elixir for nightlife.
I really love this fragrance . The parfum sticks to my skin and lasts all day . Great review Aaron .
Very keen on the Parfum. I own the EDP and love it. So does the Mrs and she even wears it herself although she isn't into fragrances that much.
How do u like the projection
Despite others downplaying the Parfum I've always liked this formulation a bit more than the EDT or EDP. Only Elixir surpasses this formulation for me in the Sauvage line. YMMV.
Have you layered Parfum and Elixir? It's very nice.

Just bought the Parfum, and then went to watch what people thought in comparisons and all of that, just to see a ton of hate. This made me feel so much better. I've only ever smelled the EDP, but felt the parfum would be good for my job, as it may sit a little closer, still project, but not as big as I feel the EDP or EDT would. Was impressed one spray of the EDP though smelled good on me for like 12 hours. But I think I'll be happier with the Parfum! Cheers!
Im happy that not much people hype about it , most of them are 15-20 that hates about the parfum , this Parfum is for Mature , and its a hidden gem of sauvage in my opinion ..
Thanks for reviewing this fragrance. "Sauvage Parfum" is my favorite one from that line, and it was good for me to hear your insight regarding it. The video was confusing, though because sometimes it seemed like you were calling it the EDP flanker instead of the Parfum flanker.
It makes me feel good that a perfumer preferred the Parfum and ranked it so high, i have tested EDT, EDP alongside the Parfum and i picked the latter.
It was love at first sniff, it sticks to me during the whole day, super wearable and it radiates very well without chocking you, i would definitely buy it again.
Don’t care if everyone wears it , it still smells lovely .
I’ve had the opposite reaction to the projection you mention. The EDT would blast people while the Parfum would sit closer to my skin and last longer.

Out of the three originals I’ve always thought this one was just more rounded overall. Like it filled a gap you didn’t realize was there until you smell the edt and edp.

What I’ve seen is that edt is hated for being too strong and ambroxon heavy, edp is the nice middle ground with its added sweetness, parfum is soapy and slightly smoky with different scent with mandarin and sandalwood.
You cant win! Too strong, Too much ambroxan! Too weak doesnt last enough. Not enough ambroxan! honestly just enjoy the fragrance

I’ve had women go absolutely bonkers over the Parfum. Like on a deep level, where they could not stop bringing up how f’n amazing it/I smelled. Probably my most complimented fragrance by Women, other than Red Tobacco by Mancera.

A few days ago I was going though my collection looking for something for springtime and beside all of them - this fragrance really stood out. Years have passed since I emptied that small bottle. Ordered a new (bigger) one and I can't believe how much I enjoy a Dior Sauvage flanker. 😊This is a gem really!

The edp was the first one to add sweetness, parfum to me is soapy and slightly smoky. You should compare both

I love the smell of the parfum version. However it does not perform on me at all, unlike the EDP. So I chose to buy the latter, plus the Elixir.
I love all three of the main Sauvages (and elixir) I think the EDT is the best one, because you can't beat the original in most cases, but the parfum comes very close

Hi Arran, Dior don’t list ambroxan in the Parfum Version of sauvage on their site, however do you think it’s still in there?
I feel like there is a notable trail on both the EDT and EDP which I’m assuming is ambroxan but it’s not as recognisable with the Parfum although there is still a vague DNA there. Would be great to know your thoughts if you see this comment 🫶🏻

I don't love Sauvage because I just don't care for ambroxan. Prada Luna Rosa Carbon is slightly more appealing to me but just generally I don't like the metallic harshness of it. Ironically I'm wearing ATH's Odyssey right now, which does contain ambroxan, but it's so light and soft that it makes the ambroxan enjoyable.
Aaron, have you reviewed Amouage "Jubilation XXV Man"? I love that fragrance, and I'd like to hear what you think about it. Also, I hope that you get to try Mauboussin "Une Histoire D'Homme Irresistible", in case you haven't tried that one yet. That's another one of my favorite fragrances and I'd like to hear what you think about that one as well.
Good morning from New Zealand & Seasons Greetings. I purchased my very first Dior Sauvage yesterday a wee Xmas gift to me. I tried the tester of EDT & the Parfum & kindly asked two ladies who were also checking out some CD perfumes which smelt better? Both said the Parfum as it projected more, I loved it too. So today I’m going to wear this to work today & see what comments I get.
I used EDP and Parfum before, and I also used Blue de Chanel, after all, i found Parfum is still the King of all 🔥
I own the Parfum and Elixer. I have never smelled the other 2 flankers, but I really like the Parfum
the 2 gems of the Sauvage line, period.
@@beau_de_jour EDT is good but just like Aaron said it is a lot more sense and has a clean dry down so it smells nice throughout and is inoffensive. Elixir is a powerhouse but smells great! One of my favorites

You have a gorgeous blackout piece on your right arm. Regarding Sauvage, I bought a sample and found it too overwhelming, i wish other perfumes that i actually like would project and last as long as this does

I got the parfume for my son (14 ) for Christmas.
We both didn't like it on him. To masculine. He is not wearing it.His first fragrance was Gucci Guilty ( eau de toilette). Smelled way better on him. Now he is wearing Dolce& Gabbana light blue ( eau de toilette) for the summer. I don't know which one next? He said he wants a fragrance none of his friends has❗
Parfums concentrations really are great for the office like you said. Lower projection but better longevity. Perfect for the office.
How is the performance on the parfum? I am seeing some comments saying it’s long lasting and some saying the exact opposite.

Hey man! This perfume has been changed the smell. I gifted my Dior Sauvage bottle to a friend oversea because he liked it so much. When I came back to the US, I tried to purchase a new one so I could continue to use it but I noticed the smell was way too much different. I cant find that version anywhere else sadly!

yes, i personally know Sauvage is a strong fragrance from the way i smell it on others and from the way people react to me when i wear it, but it's one i get nose blind really fast and it frustrates me cause i love the scent
I have the EDP and I go blind to it within an hour. Still get noticed 8+ hours after though from 10 feet away and that’s only with 2 sprays to the neck lol.
I think Ambroxan and citrus causes noise blindness. I use Haze on holiday and couldnt smell it after 1 hour. But had people asking what it was the whole holiday!
And that’s why I own all of them lol.

The EDT is good. I think the entire line is pretty good and you can’t really go wrong with whichever you pick.

My experience with Sauvage parfum is that's it's kind of boring....albeit more intense. So many people liked this that I wanted to try it. The experience was quite a letdown....and didn't live up to the potential inferences of the name itself (imho)
Got this one as a present. I dont know if its after corona or there is a one strong note in it but i hate this perfume. Cheap chemical attack. Threw it in the trash!
