- A video demonstrating all 1127 sound effects in Donkey Kong 64 (Final Release, US Version). There used to be a video demonstrating this years ago, but I believe it's now gone. This was executed using a lua script to replace the 25m music in DK Arcade with each of the 1127 values. Going to the 1128th value (1127) crashes the game. It's likely that some beta sound effects lurking in here, but it would be incredibly hard to detect.

I literally watched the DK64 TAS explained video and heard the SFX 130 (2:55) and desperately came to a full sound effect video to make sure that yes, I did indeed finally discover the source of that funny meme sound and now I know exactly where to find it
Do you know what part of the TAS was he in when the sound appeared in-game?
Through normal gameplay you’ll hear that sound whenever you kill a Gnawty, which is a common little beaver creature. That specific noise is the sound they make when you’ve attacked them, causing them to fall over.

Yeah, they're all in the same folder, which I forgot when copying the images to the video :P
Not entirely sure on the K Rool dialogue. One is significantly quieter than the other, which normally indicates underwater, but I'm not entirely sure.

@@Ballaam I'm aware. I do know that when you knock out K.Rool on Round 4, it counts up to 9. But there's no countdown after Round 5.
So i'm sure 10 is unused. But I don't even know why there's an 11 and 12 as well.
(I don't fully remember the mechanics of the fight tbh, just that I know there's 5 rounds, one kong each, and each round is timed.)
If you run out of time in a phase, you can get higher round counts (eg round 6). If you don't beat k rool in 12 rounds or less, he is determined victorious upon trying to load any round higher than 12 and you lose the fight. So they only went up to 12 because they don't expect you to be in round 13 etc

So, quick question that has nothing to do with the SFXs and more with a background... How do you manage to get something like at 3:20, where the model of one map loads into a completely different map (Jungle Japes boss map loading into Troff n Scoff map). I remember using a Gameshark code like that a really long time ago but lost the code sadly... If anyone has an answer for that, I'd be happy to know about it, cause it would be nice to do stuff like explore the mine cart levels on foot, the cutscene areas, etc
That photo in particular is an artifact of the Kiosk ROM. Because the map geometry of all maps (excl. Japes Minecart, Fungi Boss, Japes Boss, Test Map, Nintendo Logo and DK Rap) were stripped from the ROM, attempting to load into a different map will load the objects from that map (since those weren't stripped) into the previous valid map.
You may notice that the pad in the centre of all the kong face pads at the back of T&S is a beta texture.

Thanks, 442 seems to be the clockwork wind and 445 seems to be their walking sound. Not sure what the lunging sound is (might be a pitch-shifted version of another sound effect), I'll take a look.

Wow! Could the Lua script work on other games like CBF?
The whole premise with this is using the fact that DK Arcade has a variable in memory which controls which Sound Effect to play (as the Arcade "songs" are really sound effects).
In order for this to work with CBFD, there would have to be a similar thing present in CBFD, and the code would have to be modified to account for that.
I have no knowledge of the internals of CBFD, so i cannot comment on the possibility of this
I'll try to find the sound of a Kasplat (blueprint holder) being defeated. It's pretty hard to locate on RUclips as it hasn't been uploaded separately for some reason
The game treats that as a song rather than a sound effect: pastebin.com/bSNHLsV3 . As such it's not in this video. I can't seem to find it myself as it seems to have been filtered out of many people's OST lists

I like the tune because it's such a fine example of old N64 fanfares that coax another piece into a short melody. It reminds me of Majora's Mask "Mask Get" sound effect.
