The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue changed my life. I have a tattoo, I sobbed, I fell in love with reading again. I really hope you love it!!!
Oh wow, this makes me excited to read it!!!!
I feel you its one of my Favorit books ever. The nightcircus and the starless sea gave me kinda the same vibe. Maybe you like them too
I feel the same way! That book changed my life. I hold it dear in my heart.
Now I must know about your tattoo
Addie LaRue is my favorite book. I cried and never wanted it to end.
I'm not just a reader, I also consider myself as a collector, and definitely want to have my own library one day, so I try to keep all the books, so that my collection grows everyday.
Throne of glass is one of my favorite book series! ❤
I keep my books. I love them as a decorative part in my home and sometimes I love to reread them. Until I didn't have enough space for books I keep them. Then I would sell the ones I didn't like!
I keep the books I’ve read. I’m the type of person that loves to reread books.
Ahhhhh you don’t know many times people have called me a book wormm. I took that from my dad I guess 😭😭 I feel like books could take you out of reality and somehow it feels so peaceful 🤍🤍
So peaceful, it’s escapism! ❤️
Books are my life. Sadly I no longer buy hardback/softback books due to lack of room, if I had the space I would love to own all of my books in hardback. I do however own 488 books on my Amazon Kindle and 727 in my Audible Library. I use a spreadsheet to keep track of stuff I have read, I'm currently reading, those still to be read and books on order. I purchase about 30 new books each year. I try to read/listen to about 75 books a year.
Oh and to answer your question, I keep everything, I can read a book over and over again.
I read quite a bit (generally 50+ books a year) so I actually tend to either get them from the library or read on Kindle.. because if I bought that many physical books I would end up being buried under them.. I do buy physical books though, but generally it is just the ones I am sure I will want to go back to and reread or annotate. Happy Reading!!!
Wow that’s incredible, are you a fast reader? Any tips on consuming more books? I try to read a chapter every night, but I struggle when I’m going through busy periods (like shop building lmao). I’m a kindle reader mostly but like the physical books.
@@cherrywallis I may not be a great role model for reading.. The way I end up reading so much is just never setting a reading list of books I want to get through because to me that immediately feels like a chore. I pick books kind of like how one would pick an episode of a TV show to watch for the evening. I go through the list of the books that I have on my Kindle and read whichever calls to me at the moment. This does mean that I have five to ten books going at once but I am always very excited to be reading so I guess this works for me. I hope this helps! If I was building a beautiful shop though I think I would be behind on my reading as well..💕
OMG you are going to love the Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. It is an absolutely fantastic book.
Yes might read it next! 😃
Is your copy of addie larue a special edition?
@@ctundermanI listened to the audio version of the book so do not have a physical copy of it
Fourth Wing is amazing!
does her mother want her to die? that blurb makes it sound like her mother is trying to get her killed. it doesn't make sense!
Oh I am a book HOARDER! So much so, that I've long since ran out of shelf space, and have multiple growing piles of books stacked on the floor. I see you have the special illustrated edition of Addie Larue! Nice! V. E. Schwab is in my top 3 all-time favourite authors; you should give their others books a shot too! Enjoy your reading adventures!
Throne of Glass is my favourite series! Love love love Sarah J Maas
The Twisted series is so good! If by any chance you don't really like Twisted Love, please don't give up on the series. Trust me, it gets better and better with every part. Hoping you love them!
One more recommendation on the fantasy-romance side is 'Powerless' by Lauren Roberts. It's one of the best fantasies ever!!!
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig is on of my favs. I read it in a couple days & It really makes you think about the choices you make in your own life.
I dnf that book 😬
I agree, The Midnight Library is another great book. Definitely a must read!
The Pumpkin Spice Cafe is so cute and it does indeed have a little bit of spice. I read it in the fall and loved it. There's also 2 new ones in the works, the Cinnamon Bun Book Store, and the Christmas Tree Farm. I'm so excited.
And when I'm done with books, if I loved it, it stays on the shelf. If I didn't love it, it gets passed on to my school, donated (if they're too spicy for the kids), or I pass them on to friends/family.
I love watching your videos. I can honestly say I like to keep my books, simply because I like to re read them, often when we first read something we tend to miss out things. And its rather nice to go back and discover something new each time you read a story. 😊
Throne of Glass series is my ride or die (along with Caraval). If you are a chronological girl like me, I recommend reading Assassins Blade first. But I know most people say to read it after Crown of Midnight or Heir of Fire. And, if you can handle it, do the tandem read for Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn. Fourth Wing and Iron Flame are my 2nd ride or die. I also really like Kindreds Curse series. I don't have a ton of extra room so most of my books are on my Kindle. But my favs, I have physical copies as well as special editions. I've already read 14.5 books this year....I may have a problem 😂
SAME and Caraval >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> loved it
Hi Cherry! I'm Rogene, I'm from South Africa and I've been living vicariously through your magical videos and unboxings, I love your channel! Personally I love sci-fi and fantasy so I can only really comment on the first few books but A Throne of Glass has been one of the best series I have ever read! I would suggest starting with the prequel, everything flows chronologically and makes sense that way. If I could perhaps recommend another series, which is in my opinion under-rated, it would be the Graceling Realm series by Kristin Cashore. It similarly has a rich and unique story world, I haven't read anything much like it. Would love to see more of these book hauls!
If you want an easy cozy mystery series I really recommend The Vampire Knitting Club by Nancy Warren. Very bingeable and love the development of the main character ✨
I agree, Nancy Warren has written a few other series that are just as good, I’m currently listening to the great witches baking show series, by her.
@@ShaunnaBeauty absolutely. I really like the flower shop one too ☺️
I see gold on your hand! It's soooo cute ^^, Congrats with opening the store!!! Wish a lot of customers to you)) Thanks for good mood))
I read a lot and my rule is; if I will re-read it, I keep it. if I liked it or DNF'd it, or generally will not return to it, I take it to the second hand shop for credit, so others have a chance to read them :)
I’m am an avid reader, and when I’m finished with them they are sorted out by donate or keep. The books either go into a box for charity or put in my bookshelf. Am pretty new to your channel so hello there 👋 from Lynnwood Wa, USA.🇺🇸
Throne of Glass is my Roman Empire. Nothing will ever compare.
I love to read 📚 and this video gave me lots of great suggestions. Now that I have no more shelf space, I also get my books from the library. ❤🎉
THE QUEEN HAS POSTED
Dude I’m so excited! Books are everythinggggg
Cherry reading the synopsis and pausing at names is so real. Half the time fantasy names are just random sounds to me until I learn how to pronounce them. 😂
I love VE Schwab's City of Ghost series & Archive series. I loved Darker Shade of Magic first book but second book lost me. I personally wanted more from Addie LaRue, I thought all of her flashbacks were honestly more interesting than the main love story and I wish it had been a full series exploring that rather than one book.
I love Power of Habit. I think it's such an interesting book.
After I finish reading a book, if I will re-read I keep it. Otherwise I give it to a friend that I think might like it. For the rest, I either re-sell at a used bookshop if they want it or donate it to the library.
Cherry, my advice would definitely be to read The Assasins Blade before Throne of Glass! I can't imagine having read the series any other way and it is the perfect way to start your throne of glass journey :)
Honestly nothing better than a book haul video! I already filmed 2 this year 😂🤣😂
I love Throne of Glass and Fourth Wing so I really hope you’ll like them too.
I identify as a book hoarder, but as I have officially run out of shelf space I’ve started being more selective with keeping books, especially those unread ones that have been collecting dust for years 😅 like, pre ‘rona times 🫣
You will love the Throne of Glass! It is such a captivating story and it got my book-hating cousin to loving books!
I only keep books I absolutely loved and would consider rereading sometime in the future. Everything else goes either to charity or as gifts to friends.
I try to read as much as I can but don't usually have the time to. I'm currently reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for the first time ever! I love your booklist, and I think you'll love Addie LaRue! I fell in love with the story and finished the whole book in a few days because I couldn't stop reading. 😂 But get ready to cry! 😭
Hi Cherry. At one time I had over one thousand hard covered books and yes, I’ve read them
all! Now, at 69, I’ve patted down my library. I’m keeping books by my favourite authors, Dick Francis, Agatha. Christie, Anne Mac Caffrey Dragon riders of Pern series and of course my Harry Potter books!
Thanks to you, I’ve started to collect others from that franchise such as Minalima’s book.
I usually keep my books unless they are paperbacks. Those I yard sale or donate.
Os course I also have an extensive non fiction collection as well from dream signs, numerology, feng shui, etc.
Congratulations! I’ve become a fantasy reader myself!
The power of habit is absolutely amazing! I'm reading it again this year. Changed my mindset on so many things ❤
Oh I definitely keep my books when I’m done . Having them
On my shelf makes me happy . I def do lend my friends my books to read but like any other collector I collect books 😊
Maybe it’s just been awhile since I’ve seen your videos but the intro had me beaming ear to ear! So excited to see what books you have in store ❤
Love your videos!!! I am adding some of those books to my own list!! Because i have my own library (over 1000 books!), i currently try and read a book first from the library. If i love the book, I look for it in a thrift store. That way i have to wait and maybe find new space. Very rarely get rid of books UNLESS its in my tbr pile and I can't get through the first 100 pages
Keep it. It becomes a book trophy.
Always get excited by a new book video from Cherry! These look fantastic
Thanks so much 🥹💜
Yay it's cherry how we have missed you. Looks everything is going well at the shop can't wait
It’s certainly keeping me busy! 😅
OMG! I love love love the Invisible Life of Addie Larue!! My two sisters read it as well. You're going to really enjoy it! And I keep my books after I read them 😊
So proud of you Cherry you read beautiful books and amazing and keep up the great work ❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊❤
Great Video Cherry and to answer your question after I finish my book or books some I do keep and some others I donate I really enjoyed this video & it’s nice to see your love for books 📚😊 Have a Great Day Cherry and Happy Reading 📖🙂 And also congratulations on your new shop girl 😊
I love reading and yes I keep all of my books after reading them i have a pretty big library in my office/ reading room 📚💕
Love your book videos, Cherry! Would also recommend Legends & Lattes as a cosy read with a smidgeon of romance in there too 🥰
I’m so excited! You start Ed off your video with my two favorite series! Have fun!
I loved this video. I too love books and till recently I kept all my books. Now though I've run out of room to keep everything. So I've started to go through them and sort them into keep and donate. I give them to family and friends and donate to local care homes or hospitals. Now I just collect books I love xxx
Great to see you back in a new video. I hope you are doing well with the shop Cherry at the same time I hope you are finding some time to relax and chill out x
The book “If he had been with me” has a stunning sequel so look in to that one x
I get most of my books from the library, but if I do get physical books, and I don't want to keep them I'll either: Sell them to a used book store, donate them, or put them in a Little Free Library (not sure if that's a thing in the UK, but pretty much free neighborhood book boxes anyone can put/take books from)
I’m so glad you made another book video! Please start letting us know how you like them. 📚
FW/IF are AMAZING. I'm obsessed. I started twisted love but haven't finished, If he had been with me is also AMAZING and so is the second one, If only I had told her. I keep my books. I have over 600 physical books. If I end up with extra or ones I don't like I offer them to my best friend and if she doesn't want them, I donate them!
Anything I rate 4 or 5 star goes on my read shelf because they make me happy looking at them without having the lower stars sat with them. Then anything else I sell/donate
Yesss ! A book haul!!!
I binged Fourth Wing and Iron Flame and am obsessed!!! just started the ACOTAR series but just want to reread fourth wing 😂
Book recommendations: the haunting of aviline Joan’s, the bewitching of aviline Joan’s and the vanishing of aviline Joan’s. (I did spell her name wrong but it’s hard to spell ok don’t get annoyed!)
Thanks for the recommendations! 😃
Hi! To answer your question about keeping books- I keep the ones I love! The ones I don’t I will either donate, give away, or save until I have a big enough pile to go trade them in for credit at a used bookstore!
Reference books, cookbooks, and classics I will keep to use or let friends borrow.
Have fun with the TOG series! There’s no wrong or right way to read them. :) Starting with Assasin’s Blade will give you a little more insight to the main character from the get-go, but saving it for later has a completely different impact! I read TOG first, and still loved the series. To each their own!
The ACOTAR characters are my favorite and I find myself reaching for those books often to reread them, but the journey and epic story telling that happens in TOG is unforgettable! I’ll be keeping all my SJM books forever!
Thanks for sharing your new TBR pile. Happy reading, Cherry!
You picked some amazing books. I’ve read all Sarah’s books, fourth wing, iron flame, and Addie. I would HIGHLY recommend Strange the Dreamer. It’s soooooooo good. SO. GOOD.
Oh also watched twisted love. 😅 These are so good the slow burn and spice are chefs kiss.
I took so many of this haul and added to my TBR list 😂 and I ABSOLUTELY keep my books. I create a very intimate relationship with each book I read to the point that each has their own bookmark. (And yes, I'm one of those jerks that don't lend my books to anybody except a select few haha). To me books are sacred. They are my patrimony, my legacy. My lungs. I can't possibly lend one of my lungs to anybody now can I ? 😄
Fourth wing!! It’s fantastic, I’ve been recommending it to everyone.
I keep it only if I will reread it. So really just my all time favorites, otherwise after I’ve read it I ask if anyone would like to read it and if not I’ll bring them to the local grocery store where they have a donation shelf for books and you pop in a few dollars to whatever service they’re collecting for at the time.
Fourth Wing was a fast favorite, my best friend and I couldn’t talk to each other for 2 days while we both read the second book because we just could stay together in the book lol
There are five books all by the same author, Sarah D'Almeida. They are about our favorite musketeers. I will read the first book all the way through the last one; then pick the first book up again. I love those books so much! 💚
I keep all my pretty or interesting looking books, as I love to just look at them. Others I will keep if I feel like I will want to read them again (I have some I have read more than twice!). Books are beautiful, I’ll never stop wanting new ones.
Thanks, I found a few books I’d like to read. I’m always on the hunt for a new book. Most of the time I like to donate my books or pass along to friends or family but if really loved a book I’ll keep it.
What a great haul Cherry! I read Throne of Glass back in 2013 or 14 and completely loved it! I have been collecting the rest of the series ever since but I've still only read the first book lol. It is one of my 2024 reading goals to read the whole series though. Wonderful video as always!
Hey Cherry, great video! There are a couple that will definitely go on my TBR. Thanks.
I keep the books that i read and love, donate those that I don't plan for a reread or not my favourite.
Addie LaRue was absolutely amazing. I still think about this book years later. I may need to reread it. It is beautiful written.
How did I miss this video four days ago?! Cherry, I am so excited for this haul and I cannot wait to see how you feel about each book throughout the year! I have read several of these and my thoughts are thus:
- The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue - This was the best book I read (out of 94 books) in 2023. Truly a captivating, life-changing, magical experience. It's a book I never wanted to end. I adored it.
- The Power of Habit - Now this was one of those books that had a stranglehold on me and whose principles and lessons now live in the copius notes I have taken whilst reading it. I feel that everyone alive needs to read this book as soon as they are old enough to absorb it. It was phenomenal and pairs really beautifully with Atomic Habits by James Clear. Both books have helped me start 2024 off right.
- The Satsuma Complex - Bob Mortimer is one of my favourite comedians and as an author, his wit and whimsy shine through in this book, which is surprisingly heartfelt! I loved the journey he took me on and I hope you will too! Also, if you haven't seen him on Would I Lie to You? he's absolutely hilarious.
- Fourth Wing/Iron Flame - Sadly, I feel this series is massively overhyped. I was not impressed with the prose or the plot or the characters in these books and the story just gets increasingly clunky and convoluted by the end of book 2. I never felt the chemistry between the two romantic leads. To me, it was the sort of writing that tells the reader how to feel about the characters and things happening in the world instead of allowing you to make up your own mind. I'm very curious to know what you think of them though! Especially since I wasn't the biggest fan of Maas and ACOTAR but you fell in love with it! I really hope you enjoy Throne of Glass!
I almost exclusively borrow my books from the library and so I return them when I have completed them. But, if I find a book I absolutely adore (such as Addie LaRue) I add that to a list that contributes to my personal collection at home. This way, I only own the books I completely enjoyed. And, as a frequent re-reader, I know I'm in for a good time when I inevitably pick it up again. Happy reading, Cherry! 💖
Throne of glass is my favorite series! Hope you enjoy it!
Also, I keep all of my books that I read as long as I liked it. If I didn’t like it, then I’ll usually donate it or give it to someone else that I know will like it.
Some great books on your tbr. I have Throne of Glass on my list to read, slowly reading The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, and enjoyed Fourth Wing and Iron Flame a lot. I hope you enjoy your books ^_^
I just finished fourth wing and iron flame, and fell in love. It definitely is addicting. I finished both books in a week. 😂 twisted love is also very good. I didn’t expect the ending.
I always keep my books. I eventually want to have my own library in my house.
Hi Cherry, love these book videos. Fourth Wing is on my TBR also!
Throne of Glass is my favourite series and i also loved fourth wing
You should show us your bookshelf and maybe make more videos about the books you read and what you thought about them :)
I loved reading acotar last year and it's also in my list to read the Throne of Glass series this year, we got this!
You will love the Throne of Glass series. I've read it before ACOTAR and simply love it.
So I have read the pumpkin spice cafe book and it is very sweet. I keep the ones I fall in love with and donate the rest
I read about 70 books per year good books I liked stay on my shelf, books I didn't like so much or i do not think i will ever go back to them i sell or donate to library. I also sometimes take part in actions such like give your books to hospital Library etc. or just share them with my friends. If you liked acotar you will like probably 4th wing most of characters are very simmilar and i believe this books were inspiration for Rebecca.
I am a listening not s reader lol. I listen to audiobooks as I can get through more that way, last yr just under 300. I borrow most of mine from my libraries, but I do also buy them, usually the new releases that I just have to have, plus authors I know I will go back and listen to again. (my 5*)
My listening style seems to be a little different to yours, but there are a few in there I have listened to already or are on my TBR list. I love dark book, spicy book (lots of spice please), fantasy (but only certain one I really love), romance nd even YA.
As I get through so many in a yr I am on a few book groups I also love hearing/seeing people I follow on social media, what books they like or recommend.
Yay, I love your videos and your book hauls!! I also am your friend on Goodreads!!
Liked all the books from your haul and would like to read them❤️You have great taste in books and wide variety of interests)As for books you’ve already read you can try bookcrossing, that’s a really good way to give a new life and adventure to your books and find new ones for yourself))
Anything written by S J Maas is amazing! 100% recommend reading Crescent City. Fourth wing is amazing definitely one of my favourites!
As an avid reader (almost one book a week), I had to be really strict with which book I keep. Usually, I sit with them a bit. If I feel like I would tell my friend about it and lend it to them, I keep it. If I forgot it existed after a month or two, it gets donated. We have a fantastic system in my building where people put their read books on the mailboxes.
I loved The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. One of my all-time favorites.
Thrown of glass you will love. and Book Tok has tripled my TBR list
TOG: One of my absolute favorite series. I've read it 5 times (so far).
Fourth Wing: Read it. Really liked it.
Invisible Life: Its been on my TBR for a while. Thank you for reminding me to get it!
BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS! I only read 3...THREE last year (who am I!?!). I've read 21 so far this year =D Excited to follow your bookish journey!!
I also keep the books. I have over 345 and keep buying moooore! ♥
Seeing the first book you hauled, I am currently reading Throne of Glass and it's incredible!! 😅 Also, The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue is a book you'll never forget.
Love books featuring a bookshop. Definitely want to read The Pumpkin Spice Cafe. If you enjoy it, you might like The Bakeshop at Pumpkin and Spice by Donna Kauffman, Alyson Charles. Along with Beth Labonte books
Your channel is such a pleasure to watch…you remind me so much of my Beautiful niece…she is also into all the things you are…💕💕
That’s so kind Sarah, thank you!
I listened to the audiobook of the Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. It was devastating and inspiring and made me pause and think about identity, survival, and the meaning of a name. It was so much more complex that what I was expecting and it truly changed my outlook on how every being causes a ripple in the world, makes a mark in our universe, and creates memories in others.
Cherry, I love the book haul videos❤ I always keep all my books, they are all over house lol. Seen some new books on here i might get for myself. Im obsessed with thr shadowhunter series at the moment by cassandra clare. I really recommend them, love the supernatural world. Love your videos, cant wait to visit your shop when its all up and running❤
Throne of Glass is the first book that was released, Asassins Blade came out later, I hope to finally get Crown of Midnight this year and finish the throne of glass series.
Sooo many good books you have purchased/received. Addie Larue is such a great book. I adore it so much.
With the books I give 3 stars or less I either sell or donate.
I rarely buy books now, I borrow from the library or from someone else, then add it to a “to buy at some point” list if I like it enough to read it again. Mainly because of lack of space though!
Also Throne of Glass is my favourite SJM series, hope you enjoy it!
If it’s one I want to read again, or if I want others to read it I will keep it so I can lend it out/read again….if not away it goes to a friend or a charity shop! I can’t wait to hear what you think of Fourth Wing and Addie LaRue that one is still on my TBR.
Fourth Wing and Iron Flame are awesome!
Love the Plantpedia book, so beautiful.
When I finish a book/series, if I love it, I keep it. If not, I move it along. ❤
Books saved my life!
Throne of glass is super good!!!!! I recommend reading the assassins blade last. Then you understand all the characters best. Enjoy!!!!
I will always prefer to read an actual in hand book but my life doesn’t allow me time to dedicate to that, so I listen to a lot of audiobooks or read on my devices at night on my library app. I often get most of my books from the library. If I love a book I have plans to buy them myself and get special editions etc of them for myself. We however also move a tone so I have a to buy list a mike long for when our lifestyle settles into one place… I intend to have a home library.
I've read throne of glass and Fourth Wing and I loved them bothes very much. I'm now going to read Iron Flame and I'm really exited
