I never check first my fuse yet, when i do remote start only happen is horn and when i read my manual book saying. Remote start fail if the horn activated. Do think fuse but is so hard to recognize what fuse 🤔 thanks
Hey Eli! Everything was working fine until I got my battery checked at Sears Auto and then after that my remote start works but then shuts off after 15 seconds. Any ideas? It's a 2013 Ford escape titanium
It’s part of the battery Managment system coming off of the negative battery terminal. When I had my battery replaced they nicked the wire and there must of been a microscopic voltage drop. So I had to order a new neg battery cable which also has the Bms module attached to it through Ford. Has to be soddered on which you know Ford will charge an arm and a leg. But it was winter and I was so frustrated so I had Ford do it. Cost me $400 but to have my remote start restored was so worth it. Fixed the problem!!
That is exactly what my Ford Taurus does but I don’t have all of the same options. Ugh 5 months of trying to figure it out and I’m so close but still so far
@@cindygarcia284 As long as there is a check engine light, your remote start won't work. You need to first fix the problem. You can disconnect your battery negative first a minute or so and then reconnect. That should clear your check engine light.
Hey Eli.. Great video!. My key fob doesnt work (none of the buttons), but the PUSH BUTTON START works and if I leave the car with the key it recognizes that the key is away from the vehicle. I replaced the battery and the key fob shell but still no luck. Any ideas?

@@EliTheOBDTech the issue that prompted my question is that we can't get another key programmed. the car won't go into programming mode. I thought perhaps a reset might allow that?

I hate to think about how much a dealer would charge? the True Value charged her $150+ tax for the key, but nothing for the programming because they couldn't get it to work. I had bought extra key blanks for my hubby's truck a few years ago for under $15 and programmed it myself. worked just fine. I'm thinking her system needs a reset so I suggested she take it to an Autozone or someplace similar and have them read the codes. perhaps that might show something? does your friend know what the dealer did?

The remote start on my car tries to work but the engine sputters real bad and acts like it isn't getting fuel/spark. It sputters for a minute or so and stalls out, doesn't restart. Otherwise it runs fine, but can't use remote start.
@@mymusicaccount1456 Do you have access to an enhanced scanner that can scan all the modules in your car? You may have some soft codes that don't trigger a check engine light.
@@EliTheOBDTech I have a "mid level" scanner that is better than the 10 dollar model but not as good as a pro scanner. I'll do a full diagnostic and clear when i get a chance, see if that makes any difference.

Did you try doing a factory reset?
My 2017 dies after 15 seconds. Dealer can't find the problem.
Same issue with my 2014 Ford Focus. It will remote start for about 10 seconds then just shuts off. I’ve tried everything.

No!! And it’s been checked for hidden codes. But it literally does the exact same thing.
So after I fixed my remote start there was a red information icon blinking. I saw on yours dash it was yellow. What the red icon mean

I was sitting here thinking it was broke, all I needed to do is to read the manual. I was only pressing the start not the lock first.

You either have faulty key fob circuit board or you might need to reprogram the key fob

Are you having check engine light issues? If not, you may have a module or some CAN Bus network issues.
