    The big thing for me is the Tombo are not light fast and the Pitt are lightfast. I do have a couple of handfuls of the Tombo but I just use them in sketch books. 😀

    I love your videos and am happy that in this one you showed how you used the pens in an actual art piece. I hope you will do this for more art supplies going forward. Thanks for your excellent videos.

    Thank you for this video! So often I feel like comparison videos always skew toward the tombow automatically, and I'm always afraid it's because they're popular. Glad to see someone actually break down the differences in the ink base and colors and the uses for both.

    Thank you so much for this comparison! I've been trying to decide which to go for -- though I guess I'll have to buy some of each to see which I like better, heh. It's just that getting sets are always cheaper than individual markers so I've been really undecided. This video was great, appreciate all the info! :)

    Hi! This is a great video 👍 I'm not very familiar with brush markers yet, but I did get the 96 Tombows. I think you mentioned there were 8 other Tombows out there not included in this set, but other than that, is that the total number of Tombows available? Because you see sets of Pastels or Skin Tones, I think and a few other smaller sets. Are all of those pens contained in those smaller sets available contained in the 96 set?
    But yes, this video was very helpful including that I didn't know that water based markers don't/are less likely to bleed through to the next page etc.
    I'll check in the details section of this video (I can't see it in the making comments screen) but what colouring book is this? The little fox was so beautiful. The only thing I might say is that when comparing two similar products - and this is just what I think - I would have rathered the same picture being used in both comparisons.

    Hi! Could you please share your technique on how you’re able to fill in the colours so solidly? (Non streaky) thanks!

    Thanks. And what paper would you recommend? I am aware that it needs to be smooth to avoid fraying.

    Which coloring book includes the image of the sleeping fox? re:the pens-I have some of each; they are quite different. Tombows are better for blending and more like watercolor while the Pitt pens are India ink-but both are great.

    i love my tombows I've had them for 2 years! and they haven't dried out yet!

    • @spiritedreviewexc
      @spiritedreviewexc 3 года назад

      @cherry berry I just got new ones and ok three years for the first three sets, and there's like one that's kind of "drying" out but not enough for me to get all upset over. so 3 years in counting with the old set. like a few months with the other ones. I just love mine.
      I had to get them because I can't stand the sent of sharpies which i used for about a year before I started "seriously" coloring, you know, posting on fb groups and stuff (I didn't know that was a thing back then) I believe i started back 3 years ago, maybe 4 but the first pic i posted just showed up saying 3 years ago. So....i'll say three for arguments sake ^^
      I always cap them though. Always!

    I chose the Tombows because the faber castell ones pissed me off since I wanted the whole set but the only way to do that is by buying the 90 set with wooden box which costs like $600...

    Does tombow bleed through Canson ??

  • @Lenyxx3
    @Lenyxx3 2 года назад

    I have trouble with streaking when I color with Tom bows, do they pitt pens do the same thing? Because of the streaking issue, I color with alcohol markers now. But they do bleed. So the pitt pens will fix that issue as long as they do not streak. Thanks for the video.

    • @Alabamaisnotmyrealname
      @Alabamaisnotmyrealname Год назад

      Man that’s exactly my problem too, I have both the tombow and Pitt pens and they both streak significantly for me. I also prefer alcohol ones but in this video she’s able to get them as solid as alcohol ones?! Lmk if u found a solution for streakiness as I’m still looking for that myself

    are they 'true' brush nibs, i.e. made of hairs/fillaments or is it a piece of some synthetic material shaped like a brush?

    • @MyArtSupplyObsession
      @MyArtSupplyObsession  2 года назад +1

      They are not True brush pens. They do not have individual hairs. They are both brush markers.

    Pitt pens are much cheeper where I live and are lightfast. If not for the price, I would get the tombow pens for my skechooks 🤷🏽‍♀️

    You said water-based, no worry with bleed through but you didn't say at that same moment no bleed through with the India ink.

      correct

    • @mangomontero

      Why would someone choose not to include this information in the comparison video? It is arguably the main difference between both products.
      It is literally the selling point of Pitt Pens, to use lightfast India ink instead of the bright, fugitive dyes that most cheap brands use. Not to discuss price is also something I would consider important when doing a comparison.
