How to Tie a Martial Arts Belt on a Child

Tieing a belt on yourself is easy. Want a real challenge? Tie a martial arts belt on someone else!
Hey everybody, this is Coach Dan Halpin from Neutral Ground, Grafton. Today I'm going to be showing how to tie a belt onto your child or student. Uh, which is infinitely harder than tying it on yourself. The first thing is, when I'm holding the belt I want to make sure it's even at the ends, when I wrap it around. Usually id be standing right directly in front, to make it a little easier. I'm going to come around, put your arms up, okay. Can you turn around for a second, Audrey? You can see in the back, I'm switching hands. Come around, make sure again that it stayed even over here. Crossing it in the front, whichever one is on top, I'm gonna take that and I'm gonna pull it out and wrap it under. Pull it tight. Then what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take the lower one, fold it in, take the top one, fold it over, then I'm gonna reach through the big hole, grab the belt, pull it out. And while I do this I'm gonna tighten it just like a regular knot. And the belt is tied.
