Kung Fu Sifu Kuttel ~ Straightforward , enjoyable presentation tutorial . In my youth during down time at a sheet metal shop , pushing a broom kept me busy and that led invariably to all the karate flying out of me lol . Staff captured the imagination but the internet was not there . This tutorial would have been a major factor to me , I'm sure you would have created a monster (just kidding ) good work though , thank you so much
Thanks so much for the kind words! I too had pre-internet stick swinging days that really did help out overall because it gave me a good base of coordination once I did start training and looking for new ways to do things!
@Assylbek Marat Check this video for more detail ruclips.net/video/ZaiuUhJ-mQQ/видео.html Let me know if you still have problems and I'll see what I can do.
Sifu Kuttel - Kung Fu - Tai Chi Thank you! sir, this is valuable, I've been practicing a lot lately n slowly getting the hang of it, if only I lived close to yr dojo , I wud have become yr student.
Bo-staff, imo is probably one of the best core trainings you can do. so many muscles are activated when you take this up. I highly recommend anyone also research Master Shi Heng Yi of the Shaolin temple Europe for even more training. Good job sharing your knowledge and skills.
finally got it, thanks to your way of teaching, much better, you show all aspects of moves and fairly slow, helps with saaloww ppl like me. Thanks. subscribed
Dear Sifu Kuttel, thank you very much for the effort and the quality you put into your content. Thanks to you, I'm now able to do some pretty neat tricks with any weapon that I grab in my hands. Even though I don't apply it for self-defense or in actual combat, the fact that everyone watches me like I'm some sort of a trickster-god makes me really happy. Thanks again for teaching me those amazing moves, keep your content up, I'm eager to see much more.
It’s nice to know me fucking around in my backyard was apparently doing an advanced technique. It doesn’t look as nice as yours, but it’s still the same movements.
Really love your videos! I'm getting stuck at what the left hand is doing after you point it and can't figure out the exact moment from that point to bringing the staff back to the right.. 😅
No worries about that, many people had the same issue at the exact same spot. Check out this video I made with more detail on that particular hand transfer ruclips.net/video/ZaiuUhJ-mQQ/видео.html
It depends on what you want to use it for. I like rattan double end staffs, they are very flexible and can still handle contact, but they tend to splinter after enough striking. You can find thick traditional waxwood staffs, although those tend to taper on one end. Lastly, you can go with a typical bo staff with a hardwood like oak or ash. You can order kung fu Staffs from kung fu direct in the US or Dragonsports in EU: www.kungfudirect.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=59_118_135 www.dragonsports.eu/en/200480-staffs-sticks
@@SifuKuttel thanks for the answer, really helps. I wanna train the spinning in many ways, not so much for fighting. Would like to do it with fire when iam good enough :)
Really great video, but I still can't get the spin on the left side to work. I either twist the staff onto my wrist or almost hit myself. Do you have an idea how I can do it better? Edit: Just noticed the next video on the playlist is the answer to my question😅.
Dear Shi Fu, Best Regards from a Beginner in Berlin-Germany! Would you be so kind to make some more Tutorial for Saber, please?...I follow your Channel, but I wanna learn more from you! Jia You! :)
There is an arguement, that anyone that used a Bo Staff to fight someone with a Kitana, would be killed.Especially if the person using the Bo Staff was using it with both hands in the middle of the Bo Staff. What do you think?
If the katana could get a clean shot on the staff it'd be likely to snap, but when matched up with sword, the long range techniques would be more effective. The center grip is better for defending against shorter weapons like knives and sticks. Then again, it all depends on the variables of the situation.
I can tell you, it wasn't on purpose. The buzzing is from the lights in the school. I would be more than happy to accept any donations to replace the lights so they won't buzz next time 😅
Try to continue the flow once you grab it. When you grab it with the L. hand make sure to have your thumb up, and then your arm will extend out to the L and your L. hand will end up Thumb down. Once your L. arm is outstretched, that's when you turn your thumb back up, and continue until it points out towards the left
It is, because you have to rely on the feeling of the staff since you can't see it during the entire spin. The most common problem with the left hand is to let the staff rotate more behind the body before bringing the bottom (pinky) end up in front of the body. I don't know if that's the case for you, but check and make sure the staff does a full rotation behind the body when it is your left hand before you bring it in front of the body. Also check this video and see if it helps ruclips.net/video/ZaiuUhJ-mQQ/видео.html
@@SifuKuttel that’s exactly the case because so have lanky arms I have to Rotate more from behind I nailed the technique now, I have work on flow and speed ahaha thanks mate
Ossu Sifu Much Respect! Great videos. I subscribed as "truthseeker" I was getting trouble with "Advanced Staff Spinning Tutorial - ruclips.net/video/6foHx8cGedM/видео.html" I got the right hand part down until the left hand holds the staff while it points outward. The rest of the left hand movement is unclear to me as it goes around the left part of the body back to the right hand. This causes the transition from my left hand to the right hand unclear and not smooth to me. Can you do a detailed slower video concerning this part, I'd appreciate it very much, thanks!
Minkarnatiz Congrats! Sounds like you had no problem picking up the technique! I define it as advanced because most people cannot simply pick up a stick and stumble into doing it properly. I suggest you continue to find more challenging and advanced techniques and combinations to expand your repertoire. Have fun!
Finally a video that really teaches!! Thanks so much man I can finally do all the spins!! Seriously THANKYOU so much !!!
How could anyone have disliked this. Awesome teacher!

I already knew how to do that.
Nice
I learned myself how to do this before watching this 😁✌
I have a question, can this be safely done with those long spears that have like axe on the side?
That would take some practice, but I believe it to be doable. You'll just have to move the blade flat past your body.
Beautiful u showing bro
Super
It's good but not advanced, do more of the pizza toss, or extra technique on combinations, I am always looking for more combinations.

Was this weapon ever used against a Katana?
Yes, as far as I understand staff was taught to commoners to protect themselves since they were not allowed to possess swords.
There is an arguement, that anyone that used a Bo Staff to fight someone with a Kitana, would be killed.Especially if the person using the Bo Staff was using it with both hands in the middle of the Bo Staff. What do you think?
