INCEL REDDITOR 😭😭😭 omg as soon as I saw your first video I couldn't wait for more, your screen presence is super bubbly and your historical aesthetic is SO ethereal and perfectly interpreted ugh. CHEFS KISS!! 👌💋
I love this video but i gotta be honest the makeup for the main girls was probably going for less "simple commoner makeup" and more "basic pretty 2010s/2020s makeup" bc god knows the number one thing these historical cdramas wanna push is how hot their leads are 💀
Hi Mochi! Would you ever do a series of videos talking abt the different hanfu over history and ppl who design and wear that style of hanfu? Because of u i found out abt hanfu and absoloutley fell in LUV with it. Ur tiktoks have made me so insterested in chinese history and culture. Now i really want to learn Chinese! Sorry for the long comment but i srsly love ur content. Looking forward for whats to come!
great video. It seems Chinese dramas have the opposite problem to Western dramas: nobody wore a corset or woolen dress without wearing a linen or later cotton under tunic, because corsets leave marks on the skin without linen tunics beneath... yet costume dramas leave them out. Here they seem to be adding them in for no reason.
Can I wear Hanfu and the make up that you are wearing? I'm white, and I'm a bit worried about cultural appropriation and stuff like that. EDIT: Just corrected grammar and spelling.
Of course you can wear hanfu, just treat it like how you would wear your everyday outfit, casual, semi-formal and formal. We welcome those who like our culture and would be happily share it with everyone, we don't like when people wearing it with mockery intention or just claiming it as their own like Dior.
@@leightonstropic In fact, the Chinese welcome anyone to wear Hanfu, except Korean. Recently, Koreans have been trying to claim that Hanfu originated in Korea, distorting history, and spreading rumors, discredit Hanfu, promoting hatred against China, and even directly copying Chinese Hanfu and promoted as Hanbok, because of the similar culture, Europeans and Americans can’t tell the difference between Hanfu and Hanbok, which makes Chinese very worried that Hanfu will be taken away by Koreans, and South Korea is trying to monopolize Hanfu culture as Korean cultural propaganda, as long as you are not Korean , the Chinese welcome anyone to wear Hanfu😊
Yeah I forgot to touch on the guys' fashions... oops BUT, they actually were considerably more historically accurate. We see some round-collared robes for the men called 圆领袍 which were accurate to the time period. They do have some weird shoulder pad and vest moments which aren't really accurate? But other than that, it gets a 7/10 for me on the men's fashions.

I am curious, does the 100-pleat-skirt really have a 100 pleats or is it just named like that, because it has so many pleats?
