Thank you for sharing your story, Manti! The more we learn about people whose lives aren't like ours, the better it will be in the world. I appreciate y'all :) it's so easy to "other" people when their lives are unfamiliar, and it further isolates people actively being harmed by highly demanding religions/beliefs.
@@babyprincessplayground4250 I'm not sure what ddlg and abdl lifestyles have to do with the FLDS cult. Those are kinks/fetishes. "Uncle" Warren Jeffs is a child predator and abusive person, and is in jail for his crimes. I hope you are safe and okay, and also not a minor child.

@@mantibarlow4832 hello Manti..... I could possibly help you with that book if you want to chat about it. I have edited a number of books for a few authors.
I attended a holiness Assembly of God school for two years and the church attached to it was essentially a cult. I endured a lot of bullying there, especially since my family weren't members of the church (my father was the pastor of the Baptist church). Last month, I found out that several members of the founding family are under criminal investigation and are facing lawsuits regarding crimes against children that go back decades. It's so sad when people use faith as an excuse to fulfill their disgusting desires. I pray for everyone that has been through such trauma.
The husbands were sent away so that the more loyal men could get more wives! Then the community got upset when the authorities took the kids away because they were thought to be abused (some were) but no one gave a peep when they were taken in the middle of the night to Texas.Explain that one please.
From what I've read now sadly those kids who were taken and sent to Texas quite possibly were abused, particularly the girls who were being "married" to old men.
I have no morman connections but I’m addicted to your videos. It’s so interesting, and kinda unbelievable. It’s amazing to me , the whole thing…it’s crazy at so many levels …😂😅😊❤
Such an interesting interview. Love listening to Sam and Manti compare life experiences. Melissa you're lovely, I have to say tho the constant interrupting makes it hard to listen to them. That may be not necessary to say but sometimes that's how we learn to be better ❤
Manti is spot on when he said you don't get attached to people. It got to the point that even when someone you knew died, you didn't even feel anything.
A new video finally! I would love to know why people follow him so blindly even after all these accusations came out and he was sent to prison. And what is happening with the Texas plant today?
Thank you all for this channel! To have been through all you have been through, both you and your guests, it's such a blessing to see the joy on your faces! Such an inspiration!
Although I love hearing about Sam's experiences in the FLDS and the experiences you both have had in the LDS, along with the journey and experiences in moving on from being members of the LDS, it is also fantastic to hear from others who have experienced the FLDS world. The first I ever heard of Warren Jeffs was when he was arrested and in turn, for a period of time children had been taken from their mothers and put in foster care. I turned 18 in 1992, from rural Northern California, and was completely unaware how big the Polygamy world is, as I had never seen it and only had priorly heard of it as a no longer practiced thing, so when Warren Jeffs was arrested, I kinda thought it was a 'full of 💩' thing. (No disrespect intended) It hasn't been until the tv show Sister Wives came on that I actually realized that people really do currently live Polygamy. I appreciate all you do in helping provide information as to what life was like growing up in Polygamy.
Good morning and Happy Friday! I watched the series on Peacock after seeing your analysis. I'm so excited for this interview!! I'VE LOVED ALL THE INTERVIEWS YOUVE DONE! sending light, love and comfort
Your comments on agency resonated with me bc I was raised LDS and that idea never made sense. You are told that you have free agency to make choices (ad nauseum) but if you don’t live exactly the way they say you should, there are dire, soul crushing eternal consequences. How is that a choice? The fact is, there really are not choices and there is not agency within these beliefs.
Thanks for being willing to share your story. Looking forward to part 2! Watched all the episodes of the Keep Sweet series on Netflix today. It’s been so interesting to hear more about all that was going on. I barely remember Warren Jeffs being in the news when he was arrested and all, so I didn’t really know much until I started watching this channel. It’s so hard to know there are still so many who believe and follow him, and thee doesn’t seem to be much anyone can do to help them…at least until they realize the truth and that they want to leave all they’ve known behind. I can’t imagine how difficult it is. So happy you were able to move away and start over, Sam!

As someone with no connection to the lds fundamentalists, since the FLDS is basically done, from what I can tell, are there any large plural marriage communities left? Or is it just a small set of independent families now?
