Amazing video. I am considering buying on of these for my own BMW. I did notice a Aux/USB converter for the Aux audio you are refereeing to in the installation manual. Does this interfere wit the HUD in anyway? Let’s say I set a destination in the original factory navigation then open CarPlay. Does that effect the prompts on the HUD? … and on the head unit (I have the large screen like yours) will the factory navigation prompts appear there to? I’m assuming not? This product MIGHT BE exactly what I’m looking for. Thanks 😎
I don't believe it will interfere when carplay is active. The stock iDrive system still functions in the background because you still get that BMW chime whenever there's an alert the car wants to tell you a warning or something. You just can't see what it is if you're on the Carplay screen. But you still get the sound and you can see it when you switch back to the original iDrive system. Though I'm not 100% sure since mine does not have HUD and I haven't gotten any feedback from other people with HUD
I honestly don’t know. But you should just remove your glove box then you’ll have plenty of room to put the box in that little space and run the wires through the opening to it.
I don't think so. The kit uses the aux audio input to play music and other audio from your phone. You'd have the disconnect the kit from the aux input and connect your bluetooth transmitter. You just won't get any audio from the kit. You can still have carplay displayed on the idrive screen though
Hi. Looks like it will work with my 2014 F034 (335 GT). I have the larger screen and heads-up display. Will this still work? I also have a question about the mounting of the new module - how do you keep it from rattling around when you go over bumps or drive on rough roads?
Yes it will work as long as you have the NBT system which you should have. If you have the large screen like mine then you should have navigation? So that means you should have the large head unit like I do. That means there is no space for it to rattle around lol. But the kit will come with some velcro allowing you stick and mount it to keep it from moving.

If I have the BMW factory upgraded audio with logic 7 DSP so will this no longer work? If not that’s a major issue with the design. Surly the original head unit works as the speakers amo. Assume you can still adjust the head unit amp audio settings in the original menu and they remain as set then when entering into the new system it sends the audio to the amp.
@@Pain4yourmindMy f30 also had the premium sound system with the logic 7 DSP. To me it seems that the audio from the unit that has the carplay is sending the audio directly to the speakers instead of through the original head unit. The unit allows you to adjust the treble and bass separate from the adjustment in the factory iDrive system. Though I'm not an expert on how exactly the audio travels in the system. From what I could tell, it was only slightly different when I played music with carplay. There wasn't a significant difference. It seemed the like the base wasn't as high initially so I adjusted it in the unit along with the treble. It helped but it did seem kinda off still. Then I increased the bass along with some other audio adjustments in the spotify app and it sounded much better and nearly the same as how it sounded with the factory head unit.
