Wow nice shot! I missed New York now that I'm back home. Watching this video made me felt like I was back there for a sec, and regrettably missed out visiting Katz's.
whats the difference between lecia 12-60 and panny 12-60 does it make a difference which you purchae? and one more question what drone did u use thanks
Great question, I found an article that will hopefully provide a good answer for you here: shorturl.at/fmDS3 In this particular video I didn't use a drone, i just shot with the Gh5 on top of the empire state building. In my other videos I use a Dji Mavic Air though.
hello there! your video convinced me to get the GH5 with the same Leica lens you used but, my footage seems to be a bit noisy even at low ISO can somebody help me with that? (its actually my first camera so im still getting to know it)
Night shoots r clean. Did u encounter any video noise? I heard that this lens's low light performance is not that good. But it looks awesome.in your video
I knew as soon as I saw the first street light shot this was going to be a good one. VLog or CineD? 8bit or 10bit? I want my GH5 footage to look like this.
I have a entry level DSLT camera (Sony a58: launched in 2013, purchased in 2016) which has poor video performance in my opinion but great for photography. Since my interest in more towards video creation and I like to create video like this one. I am confused between which camera to buy. I had Sony A7 mark 3 in mind as I wanted full frame over my current APS-C (in Sony a58) but while i carry out my research, I found that Panasonic GH5 is a great video camera but it has micro four third sensor (which is even smaller than APS-C). So i am confused on what to buy Panasonic GH 5 (Launched in 2017)or Sony A7 mark 3 (launched in 2020). Basically I am back to square one as I have to chose between older version (2-3 years) of camera as I can't afford new ones. i dont want to regret with wrong choice here (although I have started to like GH5 more than A7 m3). Any suggestions would be helpful.
Hi Dhaval, I understand your conundrum as I was doing exactly what you are now a few years ago. It’s all about research research research. The Gh5 for me has aged like a fine wine. This video had zero planning I just pulled the camera out and shot. All handheld and with the kit lens plus zero moaning from my girlfriend (who has to put up with me filming on our trips) as I didn’t need to set up a tripod or a gimbal. The IBIS is next to none. I don’t really use autofocus , if it’s something you absolutely need then the Gh5 is not reliable for this. I have not had any problems with low light, but a few people have mentioned it. When doing my research the main thing was looking at other people’s videos and saying to myself I want my films to look like that (just as you are doing). I haven’t used the A7III yet so can’t comment on it but all I can say is that the Gh5 is one bass ass camera. I’ve had it 3 years and I still get amazed when it comes to editing the footage how crisp and clean it looks. The 4k 60fps mode is just incredible. As I said keep researching and you’ll know what is best for you.
@@Helloimdrew Thank you for your inputs. This helps somehow 🙂 Even I do mostly travel videos but recently i have started making short films in controlled environment with manual focusing.. so autofocus may not be needed. The only reservation is the micro four third lens and i understand that it is there for a reason which makes GH5 better. Thanks for your help once again 🙂
I have the same camera but my footage doesnt look good. Especially the noise level. It's always noisy and look like a average phone camera at 4k60. Can u help me on how I can make my video look good like that
Hey man, so just to let you know I make videos for a living. I've been doing it for about 12 years. I don’t know at what stage you are, but it has taken me along time to get things right. I say that not to discourage you in any way but just to give you some context. With the noise levels you mentioned, I would look into exposure, shutter speed and f stops and make sure that you understand the fundamentals. I learned so much from watching tutorials from people like Philip Bloom etc.. probably more than I learned at university. Its all trial and error and the fact that you have the camera means you can experiment and find your style. Watch films that you love and look at how the DOP has framed certain scenes, how they are using the lighting etc.. As I said its taken me 12 years to get anywhere near what I think is ok and its gonna take me another 12 to get even better. Just keep learning and keep shooting! :-)
Great footage. I was curious if you had issues where the lens would search for focus? Were you shooting in manual the entire time. I had the Lumix version of this lens and when I would shoot my videos especially slowly panning left and right, it would always search for focus and basically ruin my shots.
Thank you 🙏🏻 so I never use auto focus on the gh5 it’s too unreliable. So all manual, with the Iceland video I used the auto focus too much and a lot of my footage was in usable. If you want auto focus I’d use a Sony. The fx6 is amazing for that.
Thanks mate, i use a custom profile that I find gives me a lot of room in grading without shooting v-log. Heres the profile i use: Contrast: -5 Sharpness: 0 NR: -5 Saturation: -5 Hue: 0
@@slows728 I think it's just a standard profile modified with the above settings. Is that right @Helloimdrew? I just bought the GH5 with the Leica lens and this video is great thanks.
00:36 man, that shot is unbelievable cinematic!
there also been a movie....
So simple but so good! Great job!
I think the rain and the fabulous soundtrack was magical
I am impressed how you manage to keep the noise level low even in the metro...
Oh man, that’s superb!! 👏
This is brilliant. You can not make it better. Wonderful impressions.
beautiful shots wow!!
I love the way you frame your videos. Amazing composition
