I’ve been using gouache paint for my pearl pours. I find the heavily pigmented opaque gouache paint really takes the guesswork out of finding a paint that works for this technique. The creamy consistency mixes so smoothly and quickly. Give it a try - maybe it’ll be something that’ll work for you. Thanks for giving me so many tips!!
I've never used gouache paint. But now I'm super interested in trying it! How would you describe gouache paint? I've heard it's similar to watercolor(?) Is that true?
@@MetaPours Gouache is extremely opaque. I haven’t tried water color, yet but it’d seem like it’d last forever if using it for that. There are times I want an opaque color but seem to only find transparent in my stash, especially blues. I’m still playing with it. It mixes so well- I’m not sure I can use Lqtx tube paint again 🫢 I use Lqtx gouache and soft body and golden flow acrylics. It’s cut my mixing time by like half! Who knows though, I may not like whatever I’m using now next year. Always changing my mind about what I like about my artwork 😎 and then perhaps changing it back again 😂
Omg! Wow this is crazy pretty! Just for my own mind... ALL of your colors have the Minwax? Wood conditioner? Sorry... really new to pearls and to your methods... but what caught my eye was the silver pearls. I understand the difference in the paint mixture being thicker for the silver... Just absolutely beautiful with the touches of that great pink and blue! So so pretty!
Hello Meta (I hope this is your name)! I learned that you found the Miniwax and I appreciate so much that you are sharing your secrets! I used it and are amazed what it can do. It smells strong, but the results take that away. Your art is outstanding beautiful! Thank you again!❤️
@@MetaPours hey hun, i revisited this video yesterday and was able to post full success. Something about using the ex sheen worked wonders. I'll still have to figure out how to get the satiny enamels to work. But I am so thankful for your videos
Since it only takes about 8 ounces of paint to cover an 20x20 canvas do you loose a lot of your over pour paint. It looked loke you used 16 Oz of over pour onto 4 ounces of metallic. I'm trying to figure out how much to use to not loose so much paint?
I use the formula of height x width and then divide by 16 to get a rough calculation of how much paint I need to cover a canvas. So for a 20x20 canvas the calculation is 20*20=400 400/16= 25 oz. I actually use less than that to cover this canvas for this technique because the idea is to stretch the paint really thin. I probably use about 20 oz total. But it definitely takes more than 8 oz to cover a 20x20 canvas.
What a awesome painting. Love the colors. I do love the Galaxy look. I'm always afraid of using florescent paint but I'll have to try. Btw, do you know what causes the dissenergation of the paint around the pearls and some of my paintings always end up with a grayish taupe color here and there. I even try sopping it up with the corner of a paper towel. The color doesn't belong. I don't use black, mostly blues family . Anyway new sub. You do very awesome paintings. Stay safe.
I had to go in, and remember the song. This beat I mixed myself with garage band. It's pretty easy, and fun to do! I eventually moved on to using the youtube music (when I realized it was there, lol) and I've since moved on to an Epidemic Sound subscription.
I tired your recipe but used Liquitex metallic silver and got no cells. Do you have to use Decoart Extreme Sheen to get the pearls? Thank you! I so enjoy Watchung and earning from you!!
I've never had luck getting these kind of cells with Liquitex Metallics. The extreme sheen is what will consistently get this reaction. And I've had luck with the other decoart metallics paints as well.
Beautiful pour! Gorgeous colors!! Thanks for sharing this!💜
It looks fantastic! I love it!! ❤
Excelente video and explanation tutorial, thanks a Lot
Amazing peals, love it.

Hi Manda, I mixed the minwax into my Floetrol, so yes, it was in all the colors for this pour.
Thanks Meta!
Those pearls are incredible! I've never seen anything like it! Amazing. Liked and subscribed ❤️
OMG 😮 Absolutely beautiful, definitely try your technique. You a so talented 🌟

Looks great and I love the colours!

🌌🌌🌌 i love everything about your results. Especially the corners how they are a little bare.
Thank you! I love the bare corners too. I'm going to try an be more intentional about it the next time.

Love the colors you picked and you know I love a good pearl pour 😁 The cells with the tinge of pink are so cool! Awesome job, Meta! 👍

Hey Meta, can I use josonja instat of minwax ?
I'm not sure, I'm not familiar with Josonja.

How do you varnish such canvasses where the minwax is used in floetrol
The minwax doesn't leave an oily finish. I varnish as normal.
@@MetaPours I couldn’t get those pearls even though I followed your recipe. Can I share my pic with you ? How
Quin-ack-cro-doan ....took me forever to learn this 😂😂
New in your channel. Pretty outcome! Did you use wood conditioner or polycrylic on all the paints? Or just one color?
I add minwax to the floetrol itself to try and add the "magic ingredient" that Australian floetrol has. So it's in all the paints

Can I use arteza metallic colors instead of deco art ?

Love it! Check out Pouring Your Heart Out. She tilts really quickly and pours most off. With these effects.
