HEADS UP: the “Fahren” brand bulbs linked in the description of this video do not work with the 2012 + Ford Focus. I just bought them and they will work when the ignition is primed, but when you start the car they will throw a bulb fault error. If you want them to work, you’re going to need to also buy a canbus decoder, otherwise the car thinks your headlights are burnt out and will nit supply power to them.
You need to use forscan with a OBD scanner with hs/ms switch and change the headlight setting to other hid type headlight it will still throw the message when you switch it on but won’t turn off when you start the ignition
Didn't work at all and connectors are loose. I regret spending $40+ , at least you guys got your commission on sales right ? Good for you ! Isn't it ironic that the auto repair guys haven't left a single comment on this video ?
I’m curious as to how you put LEDs in without having to adjust into the computer for the low beam throwing the Low Dipped Beam Fault warning in the dash and shutting the low beam off. And you didn’t show the replacement of the high beam
Same. I just bought a used 2013 Escape from a dealership with LED lights installed for the headlights. I don't know if the dealer put them in, or someone brought it in like that without the headlights working properly, but as soon as you start up the car, the lights go right out. They have the extra resistors installed even, they just don't work once the engine is running.
I also have a Ford Focus and it’s a 2012 but I tried to install led bulbs in it and it says on the dash that the bulbs are out and they don’t work, how do they work on your?
Don’t you need a load resistor for the Ford Focus? Every led I have tried lights up then goes out as power is cut. Car thinks the bulb is dead due to the low power draw from the led.
I've heard that installing other headlights rather than OEM on Focus might end up bad. I've even seen comments about them turning off in the middle of the highway at night out of nowhere. Do these headlights work great or could they end up with the same issue?
I installed them on mine and they work untill I turn the car on. It's because the car thinks the bulbs out because they run on such low power. Same for the blinkers led caused hyper flash. Led have been a nightmare.
You don’t have to, only the ones that you want/need to change. Check the laws in your country or state to see if they all must be the same type of light or bulb to be extra sure. 👍🏼
I bought some sylvania h11 zevo from autozone for my 2013 Ford focus when I installed them they stayed on until I started car then shut off and my dash is still throwing up bad bulb warning..and while test driving they stayed on until I turned my brights on and they shut off mid driving I had to turn lightswitch off and back on again to get them to come back on..any info as to why they are not working properly would be appreciative
@@yoancota4293 I did some research and found out that you either have to get load resistors that require you to tap into your headlights and mount them on the inside of your engine because they get extremely hot I bought them at autozone for 15 bucks but never installed them instead I went to Amazon and found a plug and play canbus decoder harness for the h11 led bulb I just plugged them in and the problem went away and you don't have to cut into any wires..so I'll be taking back the load resistors to autozone for refund and I guess they also make canbus ready led bulbs too from what I saw at Amazon
In UK different bulb set up to your speck ours are h7 and you get problems with can bus which turns the light of even tried a can bus error box still turns of had to remove and put standard bulb back
I've got the same problem but solution was easy. Just add Philips Led adapter canbus, chineese one don't work with my bulbs and there still was a problem. After assembly this from Philips everything is working correctly :)
I'm looking to change my current LED bulbs. The ones I have installed are not great, not bright enough when I drive at night. I was thinking of upgrading to the Diode Dynamics, but these seem a more cost effective option. Anyone have any opinons about them or about the DD ones
I put in a set of led headlights in my 2014 focus. Though the bulbs didn't perform as well as i hoped, they turn on and off as expected and no errors have shown up.
@@hum___h at the time of that post, i had in a pair of (knock off) supernova sv.4's i bought on amazon. I thought they were the same as those advertised in headlight revolution's videos. They are NOT. The light output was slightly better than stock, color more white-white, but the beam pattern is not very good. I moved those down to my fog lights and installed some hikari eye of megatron's. Slightly better beam pattern and a little more bright for less money. I wanted to get some of the S-v.4's or GTR Lighting's ultra's (both are on headlightrevolution) but i don't want to blind oncoming traffic or get a ticket.
Hi I get led lights for focus, then turn on fine but when fire up the car it just go off so I bought led canbus and still same thing , what I need to do guys
Did the LED lights cause the cars system to say “low beam bulb fault” on dash? I have that right now and my lights turn off after 30 seconds to a minute the longest how can I fix this?
Would work but not quite to the same degree as a normal bulb in a high beam position. If you look at headlights, you'll see the lowbeam has a little deflector right in front of it. The LED's are typically made to simulate halogen inside those fixtures and rely in the edges of the reflectors to project it. The high beam has an open reflector and while it'd work it wouldn't project quite like an exposed bulb I'd imagine. Pretty sure the pitch is a little different but I'm thinking the exposed nature just means more light straight from the source PLUS the side reflections. The LED's would simply have the left and right side reflections still.
Inside the car, in the case of this focus, in the middle of the light controls there’s a small circular button with numbers to the right. Press it inwards until it pops out, then you can twist it anti-clockwise to turn it up to number 4, which turns the light direction downwards. The numbers are meant to represent the number of passengers in the back of the car, which naturally weighs the back down and the front up blinding others.
@nimrodmajano8693 Yes. You need led canbus decoder. I use this one, SIR IUS LED H11 H9 H8 LED Canbus Decoder cancel error message fix led bulb on and off flickering problem adapter pack of 2. Part number SIRIUSLED-H11DC
Can someone link me to the lights and, if necessary, the Canbus to install LEDs on a 2013 Focus MK3? I'm going crazy and I've already spent more than €200 testing lights that turn off as soon as I start the car.
YOu wont get away with it on reflector lights like what are on the MK3 focus. If theyre Projector (they have the glass dome inside them) you should be fine - the beam pattern is exactly the same as a halogen bulb
Don’t bother buying unless you have forscan to change the setting of your headlight to work will still get headlight error but won’t turn of when you drive and you won’t need resistors
I been trying to install led in my 2013 ford focus. It go in at easy. They will turn on with the car then turn off saying Low bean fault. How will I be able to fix it.
gotta install a load resistor or canbus decoder. my car has the same thing i just ignore it. I also got a program called focccus or forscan and allowed the car to accept LED lights in the BCM but the code still shows up.
Focus 2012 and up; low beams are H11s and hi beams are H1s (both of those are for standard halogen bulbs, however most LED conversions use the same terminology to designate them).
LED's are so dumb because they blind other drivers. It's all fun and games until you get blinded. Absolutely no reason to need that much light unless you're out in the woods.

So, what about showing how to replace the HIGH BEAM (H1) with LED?
I haven't found any single prong H1 LED bulbs

LED headlights weren't an option for the 2012 model year. Because of this, other modifications are necessary.
Look for canbus free led bulbs, they won't show up as a fault.
