I had play the wingspan app about 10 times a year or so ago but got to introduce my girlfriend to the game two days ago, we played 6 times in one day and it's been a long time sense have have done that... anyway a few days after getting it I'm up late and ordered this expansion. I try to think you everytime you make a video for a game that I own or plan to buy for thanking you for teaching me... so thank you very much for what you do and making this a lot more fun than pouring over a rulebook. If you're making a boardgame get this guy to do a video for you!!! Makes a big difference!! I go to a lot of places for reviews on games to decide what to buy but once I have spent my money on it I don't need opinions I need HELP lol. Anyway now do cosmic encounter and heroes of normadie.
I love the new mechanics from each expansions, it really bettered the base game for me and made it a little more challenging. I'm curious to see what they are gonna do with the others to come. I'm gonna try a solo mode with Oceania.
I have been playing with this expansion since it came out and didn’t even know about half of the things you just explained. Of course, I am not weird, I just put any color egg on any bird. I just grab the egg that randomly hits my hand from the Broken Token organizer... lol
They also revised some of the older bonus cards. For example, for some bonus goals you now get more points, for some you need less birds to achieve your bonus goal, et cetera.
wow. the new mechanics are pretty solid. was missing something like that in the basic game .. its a petty that these new actions are so rare .. neverthan less .. very convincing
Re: Round end (Teal) coloured cards. If you play a round end card in round 1 & at the end of the round do whatever action it says, do you have to do the same at the end of the other 3 rounds? Or, is it only activated/valid in the round that it was played? Really enjoying this game especially because of our COVID lockdown, thank you for your videos.
@@techguyml What the heck does migration have to do with snowy owls and their symbolism?... The point is, if you make a *European* expansion, why not display a species of bird that is ENDEMIC TO EUROPE on the box cover? Instead of a bird that can be found in three different continents... "idiot"
I have seen dome comments that Oceania expansion is worth more before this one? Do you have any opinions? Love the shirt though i doubt ill get it a ,a kilt pattern.

When adding an expansion to the base game are both play mats used (the play mat from base game + the playmat from expansion)? So essentially we would play with 2 mats per player?
Does this expansion have all needed components for solo play, or is the original Wingspan needed too? I do have the Asia expansion which has a board and action cubes etc. so maybe that would be enough?

My friend and I just played this expansion for the first time and we're disagreeing about how the teal end of round birds work. I say all the end of round birds are activated at the end of every round. She says only the end of round birds you played during that round are activated at the end of the round. Can you clarify please?
Did a little looking, and according to the FAQ on the publishers website: "Elizabeth designed the expansion so the percentages remain almost exactly the same. We’ll continue doing this for all expansions."
HAHA, I colour code my eggs to the birds too. Also 1 colour egg per bird, my wife puts random eggs on birds, i think that should be an end of round/game penalty.
I’m not quite sure what you’re asking. Do you mean, can you play this expansion without having the core game? No, the need components from the core game.

Do you mean the personal player board you put your birds on? You still just use one.

You would need the core set for this expansion. That said, I don't know if the Asia expansion gives you enough to make THIS expansion work.

They are compatible. You'll find this discussed more in the Oceania video.

You activate “all” End of Round bird effects at the end of each round (not just the ones you played that round). Hope that helps!

So the round end powers activated after each round? Like if I play a bird in the first round, its powers get activated after 1 2 3 4?
Right. If you played it in the first round, it would activate, at most, 4 times. Once at the end of each round.

Yes. But you need some luck in obtaining an "end of round bird" in the first place. Only a small percentage of birds have these powers.
