GREAT tips! Beginners for sure get caught up in completing their bonus cards. I feel like I have played quite a bit of the game, but I learned a lot from your video. Thanks!

Some extra tips I would give:
      1. When you take a food type that is present both as a single type on a die and a slashed type, take the slashed die to limit food options for other players.
      2. Cards are not sacred. Don't be scared to tuck mediocre cards.
      3. Don't activate cards that benefit all if you do not need it personally at the moment.

Hello there, tuck & cache, and welcome! Thanks a lot for the video; even though it's meant for beginners, it's good to hear those tips and internalize them, namely the "don't play the bird just because you can" tip, as I very often do exactly that. :-)

I am subscribed to both of your channels now! I have played 11 games on BGA of Wingspan and made some nice scores, as high as 71. But I have not won. One player did tell me you have to be lucky in this game, and i see that quite well. I have learned some things already, such as draw power and benefits of drawing cards and of laying eggs. thank you both for these channels!

@@tuckNcache I did win tonight! Yay! Then I lost. Bad luck but I did fill out my Wetlands and with a 9-point bird at that! First time I have filled out a habitat. And I got a second bonus and and scored a total of 9 points in bonuses! Opponent had more cards in Grasslands with egg benefits and won more round goals. And more eggs as well.

You win some and lose some... that will always be true for Wingspan haha

I've always felt like the bird feeder bonus card in particular is really hard to fulfill - especially when comparing it to the other "birds that eat food x" bonus cards. Drawing bird feeder and the backyard birder to choose from in the beginning would be kind of a bummer. :D

    • @tuckNcache

Those two are definitely at the bottom tier of bonus cards.

How much emphasis do you give to end of round goals? Sometimes I’ll feel like I’m missing out on points not going for them. Thanks!

In tight games, EOR definitely makes a difference. The key is to know when to let your opponent takes a few point lead while you focus on your own set up/tempo, and when to really go for it. For example, going from losing an EOR to winning it can be at least 6 pts swing. Sometimes if your opponent is setting up a raven or killdeer engine, EOR can be a good point source to counter that.

TIP 11: If you play the Grey Heron, don't forget to flip the bird. 😁

@@tuckNcache is tabletopia better than the BGA version?

    • @tuckNcache
      @tuckNcache  Год назад +1

@@hugocruz2439 I think tabletopia is more buggy but it has all the expansions. I haven't really played much on tabletopia, so not sure if things have improved or not.

tips no 11 : watch the expert game!

  • @seanknox5785

Bro… develope your Grass land IMMEDIATELY after you get 3-5 in the Wetlands.
Don’t play ONE bird in Forest if you can avoid until end of game and then play bonus cards
    Or
Only play between turn cards in forest. If you can set up wet or grasslands to produce food then you NEVER need forest besides points, egg real estate and powers that happen when played, between turns or bonus cards. Sheesh. I have watched 4 vids from you two and you guys truly give terrible advice. Even before expansions this advice is going to cause newbs to be confused and to lose. That’s it, I am starting my own channel and I’ll blow you guys out of the water. Sheesh fellas. Play the game a few times before you go ruining everyone’s experience.

Take it with a grain of salt but your tips are mostly just logical thinking and not very helpful if anyone with a functioning brain can think normally.
Real "tips" would explain why and/or how something will or will not work and I feel like there is a lot missing here. It's mostly just chit chat between two people about playing the game.
