    Old school corner. Not many do that anymore. Never used hot glue tho. Good work.

    Is caulking required in the bathroom to seal the top & bottom of moulding? Thanks for demonstrating the installation near wood moulding, I didn't know what to do about it till I saw that you just placed it next to it ...

    • @mrfantum1
      @mrfantum1  5 лет назад

      I guess you could seal the bottom but I would not do the top.

    well that seems easy enough..except you just have to do it about a hundred times to get it down!

    I am installing this in a bathroom where I dont want it to be able to leak underneath. Any suggestions as to how to keep water from leaking underneath.

    • @mrfantum1
      @mrfantum1  5 лет назад +1

      Use a good sealant. Not just the cheapest silicone. Preferably clear. I've not had a huge amount of success doing that but it can help if water spillage is an issue.

  • @CuriouslyEnough

    What is that multi lines nozzle you are using to apply the sealant?

    • @mrfantum1
      @mrfantum1  5 лет назад +2

      It is an applicator that you can buy from most flooring stores and box store. It fit onto the end of the large tubes of Wall base adhesive.

    Do you really hot glue every outside corner?
    I'm not trying to be a know-it-all, but that hot glue is simply not necessary. When those corners are cut properly and you use a full spread notched trowel for the adhesive, they will stick just fine. Your cutting technique is pretty good, but try taking one slightly deeper pass down the center instead, and avoid scoring the toe.

    • @mrfantum1
      @mrfantum1  3 года назад +1

      The hot glue is just to good it in place till the other glue dries. It'll keys you move around a bit quicker on big jobs

    • @kwantoon
      @kwantoon 3 года назад

      @@mrfantum1 I know what it's for, but if they're cut correctly you only need base adhesive.
      How does adding an extra tool and an extra step make things move quicker?

      @@kwantoon It’s his method and it works for him this way tried and tested he won’t be back round there seeing if it’s pulling off the wall especially in difficult conditions looks good too me he will get paid at end off job and have piece off mind that it is stuck at the corners that’s all it matters

    • @kwantoon
      @kwantoon 3 года назад +2

      You're right about it being too many steps, but. it's not a race and if you're cutting in base like that, I'm sure your work leaves a lot to be desired.

      @@kwantoon haven't had any problems yet. To each his own. Time is Money my man. So in a sense it is a race man. I'm not talking shit just saying. Floor on my man.

    • @kwantoon
      @kwantoon 3 года назад +2

      @@anthonypatterson7440 I guess it all depends on your clientele. The majority of jobs that I work on would never accept that kind of quality. The punch list would be a mile long and it would say "remove and re-install cove base correctly", there's no fixing that.
      Too much of that shit will get you removed from the bid invite list and you can kiss your reputation goodbye. Cutting corners doesn't save that much time
