    Congrats with your purchase, Tudor!
I have owned a GR II for several years until I sold it and replaced with an XT-5.
In my opinion, those are ergonomically great cameras, so easy to set up for an individual use, also with a legend known to a few. Therefore, people on streets think it's a grandma's camera and don't care about it. They would care much more if it were an iPhone.
However, I tend to think this camera is definitely a #3 device for photography after a mirrorless camera and a phone camera. Something you should buy only if you really want it and cash is burning your pocket.

Yep, screen is terrible and no EVF for aging eyes is no bueno

Best everyday carry camera. I have a GRiii and it’s so enjoyable to shoot with.
Specially the Hi Contrast B&W and highlight weighted metering.
About the focus, I use back button focus but the AF is good considering its size and purpose.
Image quality is amazing, for such a compact camera Ricoh did a great job fitting and ASP-C sensor there.
Enjoy your purchase, I’m almost certain you will love it and keep it.

High Contrast B&W is nice on this camera! But not as good as Fujifilm

What would make this a buy over say the Fujifilm XE4 with the 27mm lens? Seems to me that the Fujifilm has many advantages, and features not found on the Ricoh GRIIIx. I have used several different inexpensive cameras on the street -- they all work. Currently, the Lumix GX9 and the Canon RP are the most used cameras, and serving the need quite well. People complain about Panasonic's lack of phase detect autofocus, though I find their focusing very fast, with a great locked in accuracy. I use single point and NOT continuous focus. The Canon focusing speed on the inexpensive lenses is limited by the motor system, but fast enough -- most of the time. The pro lenses, I am sure are faster, but how much does one need to spend on street photography lenses? I use the Olympus PEN PL-8 now and then, paired with the 14mm Lumix, made in Japan little lens, and it is pretty compact. It has a tilt screen, and metal build not found on the Ricoh GRs, with a decent battery life. Perhaps the rendering of those Ricoh GR cameras is worthy of the price. One needs to experience a camera by themselves to feel the goodness factors. On paper, something like the XE4 with the 27mm looks to me to be a winner. Fujifilm seems to have a problem with supplying the goods however. It looks like Canon R10 is a good camera, though Canon needs to fill-in with more lenses. You could use the RF 35mm for the street -- I do, but a really cool idea would be pancake lens for the street. The RF50mm is shorter, but on the R10 is portrait field of view of 80mm. That is fine, but not all the time, as streets need a wide angle lens, lots of the time. A 28 or 30mm pancake would be awesome! Happy New Year! Loren

Happy new year Loren. I was thinking like that till using Ricoh GR3x - I'm totally in love with the camera and didn't had time yet to view the pictures on the big screen.
The shooting experience with this small camera it's a game changer. Also the quality of the files are very good from what I looked. And the refinement of manual focusing for snapshooting is out of this world. Is like a film camera with manual controls.
      I'll post my findings ASAP.
I bought it and I was afraid I would regret it - it totally exceed my expectations (I would choose now this camera over x100v and Xe4 without problems).

@@Tudor_Mateescu Thanks for information. Let us know the battery life. I usually do around an hour walk, more or less, then when home recharge the battery. So far, I have yet to wear out a battery. But then again, many cameras get rotated for use. The tilt screen and EVF is something one might miss, but it is true the one handed quick snaps, many times are done without a view through the window. I have no idea if dust will become an issue. It seems the focusing is better on these now. Seems like Canon should make a compact, retro look, street shooter, with a pancake lens, but they will say they have the G5 X mark II and other compacts, which are OK, maybe not stellar? That Ricoh GR IIIx, I assume out classes the images taken with a Canon compact.

Af in low light is terrible. Battery life is awful. Screen brightness is dull on normal settings and increasing brightness makes battery life much worse. Dials are very plastic.
Those points aside, i love the camera so much I bought both the x and iii. Dng transfer is very useful, ibis helps, lens is crazy sharp, ergonomics are well thought out, and the camera is incredibly responsive. I just wish they kept the flash from the ii
