Long form content is so appreciated. It goes against all technological trends and that goes hand in hand with fiber crafts. I particularly enjoy reading ‘the gusset’ for instance. The Long thread media podcast and Haptic and Hues are also two of my recommendations. There’s also a community and belonging aspect I’m craving for especially so in my case since I don’t have any family or friends who do crafts and I am the only person around who speaks foreign languages. Hugs, Adrien
@@partyfiesta1557 so so agree with this! It feels like the media outlet most aligned to what we do as a business - it required patience in a way that 30 seconds never does, and you have to stick around through the slightly duller bits too, a bit like embroidery haha! I will definitely look into both of those and I fully agree - I am lucky my mum and team are all crafters, but my friends aren’t so this platform has given me that community too!
What I like about you is that you talk from your heart and head not from a script. You share what you are truly thinking. That is so refreshing. You are being your true self and honest about your goals , not just about making money.
Thanks so much - I really appreciate this! I was thinking the other day about video in the context these days of AI written content. The great thing about video is you can't fake it whereas with written articles, things like chatgpt get so good, its hard to know if what you are reading is human or not!!
Thank you so much Eppie for sharing ❤ Couldn’t agree more re long form content. There is so much true value in it. As you said it is not about volumes, but real connections built with people who resonate and will invest their time into watching and engaging in various forms. So happy RUclips recommended your channel to me. Can’t wait to catch up on past videos as well as to see what else you create in the future
Completely agree - I feel like I get to know people on a much deeper level by hearing them talk and seeing where they pause, think, the real thoughts rather than curated writing!
I found you on you tube and I really love your content - you’ve become one of my favorite channels. Your authenticity is so obvious and much appreciated. And I love the diversity of what you talk about. When I went to your website, it would look like an organic search, but I got there 100% because of your videos here and I plan on being a lifetime customer! Thank you for sharing yourself with us! ❤
Thanks so much and so sorry for my delay getting back to you!! I really really appreciate this comment and am so pleased that you like the diversity of content on the channel - its nice to know every weird and wonderful whim I have can hopefully be something you will enjoy too! Thats also really good to know you went to search us - our organic search traffic is up nearly 5000% since the same time last year (we were woefully bad this time last year so its not as crazy as it sounds) but I was sure things like this must be having an impact on that!
I found you through ‘you tube’ and really enjoy your videos. I found this one very interesting as I never realised how much goes into the different platforms for a business on the internet,no matter how big or small but you are doing it all yourself. Thank you ❤
Since I have been a creator and I a freer right now I want to step up but don’t know how to delgate Let me know how u went from being a solo creator to a team and a company who creates and use other people’s talent and channels to works for ur business Thank u very grateful for each and every insights that u share More power to u
Would you mind telling us about the materials you use? I’m especially curious about how you choose the ground fabric. What are you looking for in fabric that would make it a good choice for this kind of work? Also what kind of needles do you like? I’ve done tons of needlepoint but I’m newer to embroidery so not as familiar with the tools & materials.
Your How to Find Inspiration video popped up in my YT feed and then led me to your links in your profile. Looking forward to checking out your membership in January. Do you have a page of your favorite supplies along with your reference art/textile books on your website? Being in the US, shipping costs make purchases cost prohibited so maybe we can source things in other avenues.
Hi Debbie - so sorry for the delay getting back to you! So actually as part of the membership we have started getting everyone to contribute to a list of their favourite suppliers and then I have been going through and picking out the things that are most similar to what I use. The hardest thing to source seems to be lovely fabrics in the US - getting the range of colours in stitching weight fabrics seems challenging! If someone wanted a business idea I feel there is definitely a gap for a fabric shop for embroidery!!
I'd love to know more about that lucky break - getting picked up by the Financial TImes. Do you chalk that up to good luck or where are you doing something that you feel really got their attention? I do a lot of "manifesting", so I find this very interesting on a cosmic level. Thanks so much for all the good vibes you bring to the creative community!
Honestly total good luck. The kit that got picked was not anything special (it’s the only kit I’ve ever discontinued) and I had no contacts in journalism or craft industries. One thing I did was sent out kits to all my friends (and 30 of them) and then asked them each to send on a kit for me to another of their friends (so all together 60 free kits) and just asked everyone to post on their instagram. But no one had public followings, just friends of friends who wanted to help me. So maybe she came me via one of them!
@@thefabledthread So interesting! It's not surprising though because you seem very self-aware. You recognized that the joy was fading fast, and that you needed to step back and have a meaningful look at your whole creative life. That attracts good stuff. Well done!!

A pleasure! I wish I had had someone tell me this when I was in a low ebb with it all!
