@@emergencyawesomeI want to give this a shot but the Dune movies were just way too weird to enjoy. Game of thrones had at least some sense of being grounded. Dune just felt all over the place.
@@emergencyawesome Why do you say Valya went to Geidi Prime when its clear she just took a "Dune Uber" not intersteller to another neighberhood of the same planet that the Emperor resides on. You can tell that since she is using the same type of travel and as the Prince and Princess when they go to the nightclub
the atreides buff guy is not just "oh we'll figure it out" he's "pure of heart", going "the sins of our fathers are not our own". Then she mercs him. RIP good guy.
What if Lila is the one that brings about the prophesy. Didn’t it say borne twice, once from blood and once from spice. They’re flooding her with spice to keep her alive ?
Was just thinking the same thing.. they basically have written her off as dead, but now Tulla is having her kept alive and bolstered with spice in the hopes of rejuvenating her. No one has ever come back from the state that Lila is in, so when she does, it will be very much like being born again in spice.
It's in the Brian Herbert books. This episode is taken more or less straight from that, except Tula was also a skilled sword master too, with similar training to Duncan Idaho.
Thank you for sharing that! Haven't read the books, but knowing she has a stabby background would definitely make poisoning an entire rival family less of a surprise 😂 The younger Tula in the show seemed much more reserved and gentle up until that happened, but the older Tula has given off some stabby vibes. Will have to get my hands on the books, this franchise has been great.
The second she stepped on that planet I knew who they were and what her plan was. The second I saw her bring that pot down to the fire and insist that her lover join them, I knew what was in the pot. Now back to the real mystery. Who is the spy in the Sisterhood, that is working with the Viking 🤔
What I really haven’t seen anyone mention is the poison and manner that Tula used to kill the Atreides as the inspiration for the Gom Jabbar. I think it’s particularly significant that it was used on an animal as well as a human.
The Harkonnens are not on Geidi Prime yet..when older Valya visits her family they are in the city of Zimia on Salusa Secundus ..the Harkonnens are a part of the Lansraad at this point so they live in the capital, Valya and sister Theodosia are already in the city since they have been kicked out of the palace
Multiple actresses also from Netflix's Bridgerton. The actress playing young Kasha is to be the new romantic heroine in upcoming season. The actress playing young Francesca was a sister to romantic heroine lead in season 2. And young Tula and Valya's mother is played by actress that is mother to heroine of Bridgeton season 3.
If she did, she collected the DNA the old-fashioned way from Orry. If Tula did have a child, it’s most likely Kieran Atreides. He looks like he’s about old enough.
Yea, Kieran's probably too young to be the grown up Oscar Tully character, that would've made him 40-45 in the main timeline. I'm thinking Sister Jen is a likely candidate.
When Tula confessed who she was to her Atriedes boyfriend, he instantly forgave her. I thought it would be a sweet beginning of a Romeo and Juliet story but NOPE! She just went full Harkonnen 'dark side' and wiped them all out accept for one young lad😬
GOT movie that Warner bros announced recently should be as of whole season8 was Bran’s vision, that’s the only way to save the legacy from horrible s8 ending, and they most likely gonna make a lot of money from bringing old cast back
Save the legacy ?? GOT legacy will never need to be saved .. Can’t believe you all just discount multiple seasons of the greatest shit on tv just because of a lack luster ending .. Smh GOT legacy is SEALED .. Greatest show ever to touch TV .. EVER
Not only does that story sound so convoluted and un appealing to the general masses (who are downright retarded and need to have their entertainment dumbed down for it to be digestible) you're also failing to realize how goddamn expensive that would be. Lots of the cast are A list celebs who would only accept multi million dollar paydays. GOT needs to be forgotten, then remade sometime in the future (20-30 years) when ideally the books are complete and all source material is adapted faithfully and with an emphasis on quality (which given how often new shows fail in the modern day it might never happen lmao)

Another casting note for you, Charlie. An unbilled Polly Walker (of *Patriot Games", "Rome", "Clash Of The Titans" [remake], "Caprica" and "Pennyworth"fame), played Valya and Tula's mother, Sonya Harkonnen. Small part for her, but she's not a small actor. What a surprise that was...

Well ironically, Tula could accidentally be creating a Mentat, a human computer by resurrecting the little girl. Which also fits into the prophecy, born twice once in blood once in spice, and Tula injects her with spice at the end. So if he succeeds, they have her now
Another great vid as usual Charlie but i think you're getting mother Raquela family tree wrong.....She's supposed to be Doroteas grandmother and Dorotea is Lila's grandmother also..not mother
The Atreides bloodline nearly getting completely wiped out because the heir was a top tier simp is hilarious. Bro should have gotten rid of Tula the moment she told him that she was a Harkonnen 🤦♂️
ah, it now makes sense why valya found it interesting when the sister posing as a rebel in the spice bar told her that the mole in the royal house is an atreides. valya might realize that tula lied to her about deleting all of the atreides.
Highly unlikely that Desmond is Vorian Atreides. He’s a reformed character not a gray one so it would make no sense in his arc. The end of the story seemed to imply that Lila is in fact the prophesied figure, not Desmond. I guess they may be going with her as an abomination. Butlers are Harkonnens at this stage, as they married into the Harkonnen main line. So the Corrinos are in fact the branch of Harkonnens who changed their names to separate themselves from Abulurd’s sabotage attempt. These thinking machines don’t seem to be related to Omnius tho. That’s the dangerous one.
You may already know this but some people think Frank Herbert used the last name Butler as an hommage to author Samuel Butler who wrote the book Erehwon, which within it had, The Book of the Machines, in 1872. It is one of the first writings to explore the concept of machine or artificial intelligence. There's tons of videos and reddit post about that idea if you are interested. As always. thx for making these great videos.
I was a bit confused on the fact that when Valya asks if Tula killed Vorian, she said they’re all dead but everyone is implying Vorian is still alive, otherwise why would she have killed that group and someone she grew to somewhat care about? My first assumption was that “Orry” was short for Vorian…
There are still Harkonnens on Lankiveil during Paul Atreides time. The Baron's demibrother Abulurd (father of Glossu Rabban and Feyd Rautha) lives there.
If the show resorts to blame Griffin Harkonnen's killing on the Sisterhood, it would be a very serious deviation from the original story, because that would completely distort Vorian Atreides background and the remnants of the cymeks (thinking machines) after the end of the Buttlerian Jihad. Also, the show is already ignoring the start of the sisterhood of truthsayers in planet Rossak, placing the sisterhood already in Wallach IX by the time Valya Harkonnen takes the "agony ceremony."
About 10:30 in; Butler family changes name to Corrino, while Buterlians (starting with Rayna?) are the anti-thinking machine religion. Dorotea was sent to the Butlerian religious group and came back with the Orange Catholic Bible.
The second I heard the uncle speak I was like hold up, that’s not who I think that is right, i immediately had to look it up and it was freaking Robert Baratheon!!
Thinking machines for monitoring the genetic lines is canonical to the original books. Mother Superior Darwi Odrade says so in Chapterhouse. It’s an off handed remark but she says that the sisterhood kept their genetic records on supercomputers against the proscriptions.
Seems to me the Lila bit is a way to offer a second possibility for the "Reckoning" source--born twice, once in blood, once in spice. If/When Lila wakes up, she will have been born in blood and born in spice, just like Desmond.
So if the new Baron is Valya and Tula’s nephew, then who’s his parent? Griffon died I’m assuming without any children. Maybe Tula got pregnant with the Atreidies and they lied and told him Tula was his aunt?
I felt so bad for Orry I thought he was going to attack Tulla and THAT was going to make her turn & join the sisterhood But he loved her and wanted to move forward 😭
it's not Geidi prime, it is still salusa Secondus. See the "flying taxy" they uses to get out of the palace ground? it the same they arrives at the house of his grand father.
