I think the ceremonial county of Lancashire is the hub, two most successful clubs, current most successful club and most of the founding clubs of the football league - and I am from Yorkshire.
I guess hub means center of greatest activity in this context.
A yank in london is a refreshing take on stuff
Thank you! That’s a great elevator pitch. (Or should I say “lift pitch”?)
I have Subscribed, now in my 8th decade, and Thanks for this. London recently lost Dagenham and Redbridge from the main 4 league:92 Club pyramid but gained Bromley into this year's 4th tier and they will be my 85th ground visited. Orient holds 10,000 but 33,000 watched Birmingham play there on the last evening of the 1971/72 season(20,000 Birmingham,10,000 Millwall 3,000 Orient) as a Birmingham point would guarantee promotion to the top. A loss meant Millwall made it for the, then, first time in their 87-year history. Birmingham scored a late winner. Until 1993, Millwall plated 1/2 mile away at THE OLD DEN where their fans helped them break the Home record in the whole league by going 59 games unbeaten there.
What great info! Thanks for subscribing, and thanks for sharing this. 👍🏼
Always love a football challenge!🏈
Wonderful! I’m glad you enjoyed it, and thank you so much for the support.
Another fantastic, classic Starstruck by London video... love the trivia and commentary as always!
You makin’ me blush! 😂😂
Missed a few. I’ll start you off and fill in gaps: Dulwich hamlet, Barking, Sutton, Dag/Redbridge, Harrow Boro, Met Police. 100s more
Kept it to FA, but I did miss Bromley.
@@StarstruckByLondon all clubs play under the FA. Top Division is called Premier League, next 3 are called the football league. Below that are lots of regional divisions collectively called nonleague.
@@tremensdelirious ah. Football League was my goal. Thanks for watching!
@@tremensdelirious those aren't in the League, though Sutton and Dagenham & Redbridge both have been, as has Barnet.
@@luxford60 chap said every football ground in London. I think he meant every football league and Premier League ground in London. If he’s going every football ground. There’s loads.
This was a cool challenge. Should try to do the non-league grounds at some point.
It’s on the agenda, mate. Thanks!
Top man to have done the challenge Dave. You almost left best for last, but one from last is ok :-) COYS!! Seriously impressed you did it.
Thank you. I actually enjoyed it, as knackered as I was in the end
Great video sir. You made me chuckle when you said Croydon,a scary place to walk. I used to live in that area and I have to agree it can be pretty daunting especially at night. However if you kept your wits about you. You should be ok .
It was especially treacherous when I turned right instead of left at Selhurst station. Didn’t take long to realize what a mistake that was! 😂😂
Very easily done .
There's Britain and then there's London.
You missed one, now that Bromley are in the Football League!
Been mentioned! I’m going down there soon and doing a short. Cheers!
Dusk to dawn. Super video Dave. Keep 'em coming.
Thank you, pop
Well done that man!
Great, long day out!!
Always good videos….
Thank you for the kind words. I feel validated for doing that crazy challenge, lol
A good video and a good watch.
But you missed 1 ground!
You missed out BROMLEY FC, newly promoted to league 2 or tier 4.
Technically the postcode is BR1 Kent but most people would say it is in London (south east).
When you visited crystal palace you could have gone a few miles further south to Bromley.
Thank you for the comment. I actually could have done Luton and Watford - considered by some to be London clubs, but if I did stretch the borders, I would have never finished. But good info on Bromley, nonetheless.
Was going to make the same comment. It's in the London Borough of Bromley, so definitely counts.
Bromley is in London and has been since 1st April 1965. Postcodes have nothing to do with it. Bromley is in the London borough of Bromley.
@@StarstruckByLondon
Watford is in Hertfordshire, Luton is in Bedfordshire, so nothing to do with London in any way, shape or form. People that consider them to be in London need to look at a map. 0:01
I visited all the stadiums in the top 4 divisions within the M25 within one day by public transport (tube, train, bus and foot) back in 2006.
Think 13 at the time starting at Watford early in the morning going clockwise and ending at QPR late in the evening. Dagenham & Redbridge as well as Barnet were in the 4th tier in those days but AFC Wimbledon werent.
My challenge was to touch each stadium but refused to get up close by security guard at Stamford bridge! West Ham Tottenham & Brentford were still playing at their lovely old grounds back then. Arsenal had recently moved to the new stadium. I also popped over to Wembley.
I really should do an up to date one one day.
That’s quite impressive, even without Wimbledon. Palace is the hard one to get to.
POV I’m going to visit every London football ground in the efl , I did “bromley 😢
I’m sad that I missed Bromley. Many have called that out.
The valley held over 75,000 aston villa. In fa cup 5th round 1938 The valley now is electric even if half full stadium
I really was impressed by the Valley. I plan on going this season.
Awesome job. Not easy getting around London on the best of days. Up the Wolves!
Thank you! It was a looooong day
I was brought up in Tottenham, and yes, it can be a scary area, but just don't go out certain times, and you'll be ok.
Yeah. That was mostly tongue squarely planted in cheek.
Great video! good info too
Thank you! And thanks for watching
Pretty impressive to cover all of those in one day!
Thanks. Certainly wasn’t easy.
this is a great video. i live in london and i want to try that one day too aswelll
Thank you. It was grueling, but I enjoyed doing it.
Well done that mam. Me as a Toon fan, has been to just three, Leyton Orient, Stamford Bridge and Fulham (although I did go to WHL, Upton and Highbury too).
Yeah. One thing that came out of it was the desire to see matches at some of these grounds. I actually want to go to Millwall now 😂😂😂
Wow, wow, wow. So good !!
Thank you, Ugo 😁
Nice video -
I would bold to say that the walk between the edge of Leyton Orient to the Olympic Stadium is a touch shorter than the distance from Craven Cottage to Stamford Bridge. If you play about with the Google Map routes it just pips Fulham to Chelsea. Therefore Leyton Orient to West Ham is the closet distance between grounds! Just saying....
Nice. I didn’t consider that. May have been better to Lime bike between the two.
The hub of English football 😂
Lotus Road - Sh*tHole
Brentford stadium - soulless empty husk Sh*t fans
Craven cottage - Love it, only nice stadium in London
Stamford bridge - Sh*thole, needs knocking down
Wimbledon - fine, better than MK Dons
Selhurst park - up there with craven cottage, a proper stadium
The den - an absolute dump with dump fans
The valley - good stadium and decent atmosphere when full
The Olympic stadium - it’s a fantastic stadium but rubbish for football though
Brisbane Road is beautiful, no comments
The spurs stadium is absolutely gorgeous and works well for both sports
The emirates stadium is absolutely lifeless, not called the library for no reason leaving Highbury was a travesty
😂😂😂😂
I've often thought be fun to drive to all stadiums within the Premier league within a day. If you ever fancy joining me let me know.
Newcastle to Southampton and everything in between in one day? Makes my challenge seem easy, ha ha ha
@@StarstruckByLondon Maybe not a day but certainly within 24 hours Starting at Bournemouth and finishing at Newcastle.
Quick Google will tell you there are 21 football grounds in London....
I limited it to League Football. Top 4 tiers. But I did miss Bromley, according to many commenters.
What about Dagenham and Redbridge always thought they London side 😂
I limited it to League clubs. Top 4 divisions. And I know, I know. I missed Bromley.
i THINK QPR where named after 2 Scottish clubs (Queens Park & Rangers) They took the hoops from the former and the colours from the latter. Not 100% on this, but i think I was told this years ago
Nice! Thanks for the info!
Actually QPR was originally called Christchurch Rangers before merging with St Judes, they then called themselves Queens park Rangers due to the fact that at the time, they were close to the Queens Park area of London and also where most of the players were from. Nothing to do with any Scottish clubs sorry.
You forgot Bromley
You wouldn’t believe how many people have called me out on that
Good video but it's pronounced
PREM I ER LEAGUE not PREMERE LEAGUE
You can take the man out of America, but you can’t take the American out of the man 😂😂
Watford is in London
Fortunately for me, Watford and Luton fall outside the border.
WHAT ABOUT BROMLEY OR DULWICH HAMLET???????????
Tried to keep it to league, so no Dulwich. Many have pointed out that I missed Bromley. Oops.
You should go Wembley
I covered Wembley in the Icon or Eyesore video. Give it a look!
ruclips.net/video/OC0KP6hYDlQ/видео.html
Thanks!
Thank you, my friend! Hope you enjoy the channel. You’ll get a nice mention on Tuesday’s video
Fulham nicest by a country mile .
You’re not wrong.
@@StarstruckByLondon im biased mind you I’ve been going to Fulham since 1966 😀
It was the first place my wife and I lived here. We had a temp place on Dawes Rd. It allowed us to have our first English football experience at Craven Cottage
@@StarstruckByLondon I use the Bedford arms before kick off in Dawes rd .
Charlton is in the east not west?
Ah! That’s an oops.
Thanks
You just helped me earn my first dollar on RUclips! I think I have to hang up and frame my phone 😂😂😂. Many thanks 🙏🏻
Missed Bromley who got promoted to league 2
Yeah. Been pointed out. I feel like I need to do a RUclips short to visit and complete the set!
@@StarstruckByLondon you should do a video of the smaller grounds would be good to see 👍🏻
@@franmulvaney792 that’s a great idea.
Yeah, but Bromley doesn’t have a London postcode 😉
@@alexshort8055 wow. You’re the first one who has let me off the hook 😂😂
It always annoys me when you say grounds as a singular meaning
I guess I picked that up from my Brit mates in Hong Kong
Bromley ?
Yup. Been called out on that several times. I hope everyone can still appreciate how hard this was!
@@StarstruckByLondon yes it was a great effort
Hello mate very good video but can you do this but for yorkshire and give yourself abit more time 😁
That sounds very daunting. What grounds would that include?
@@StarstruckByLondon id say to do only the ones in the efl of course and if yorkshires abit too much maybe only do west yorkshire ill see how many grounds that would be
@@StarstruckByLondon ive had a look there is 10 pro clubs in yorkshire which includes leeds, sheffield united, sheffield wednesday, huddersfield town, hull city, barnsley, doncaster rovers and rotherham united. you could throw in a national league club like halifax town which is next door to huddersfield or middlesborough which is at the very peak of north yorkshire but not alot of people class that as yorkshire, you can access alot of these grounds by train you may have to take a taxi or uber to a few or even a bus. i completely understand if the challenge is abit much for you to complete.
Believe me- I’m considering it!
@@StarstruckByLondon Okay! thank you!
pitty west ham moved from their home the boleyn ground to a athletic stadium to lease its not even thers
Yeah. When you see nice classic grounds like Loftus Road and Craven Cottage, it’s even more of a shame. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
@@StarstruckByLondon rebuilt boleyn would have been a classic home for west ham better than what they have now
Good video, but you forgot bromley Which is a good team in league two
Not the best, but average. Enough to stay up
Yeah. A few people called that one out. I bounced.
I think you got your number wrong that it's 13 London clubs in the EFL from the Premier League down to the football league Two 7 football clubs in the Premier League two football in the championship two football clubs the football league 1 and two football clubs in the football league Two
Yeah. It’s been pointed out that I missed Bromley. I guess a Super Thanks is out of the question 😂😂
wembley?
Only league grounds. I actually had a Wembley segment in my Icon or Eyesore video. ruclips.net/video/OC0KP6hYDlQ/видео.html
Charlton in west London
Still London, right?
@@StarstruckByLondon south east ldn
Wtf is Premeer?
American, comrade!
who do you support ? (very good opinions on fulham from you)
Did you watch to the end? The answer is in the video!
@@StarstruckByLondon i got an ad near the end and thought the vid was over lol
@@eepytorin ha ha. Well, it’s Wolves. But you should watch to the end. It was a triumph.
So all 12 grounds done a 11 min video what was the point less the 1 min per ground must have plenty to say about the teams
So I guess a Super Thanks is out of the question? 😂😂
@@StarstruckByLondon just hope you enjoyed yr day and your food at the millwall cafe...but try for video next time make it longer lol when something as good as what you did deserves to be longer ..🙋♂️🙋♂️
Thank you. I think I’m going to do the tours of the London Premier League grounds for a future video. Compare them and see which are the best.
Do you mean public transport ? What on earth is public transportation??
One of those ‘murican things
😂 yes I was being tongue in cheek - they mispronounce so many words sometimes it’s not really English !
You missed Bromley
I feel like I have to do a short and go there. So many people telling me I missed them. I’m gutted.
@@StarstruckByLondon really nice little ground not like any of the others
Brave man wearing that top lol
Still old Trafford is the best 😂
Maybe a Manchester edition is in the cards
@@StarstruckByLondon haha not sure there's enough clubs in a small space to do a northern version.
A non league london one would be cool though. Bet there's loads of interesting heritage there.
Load of rubbish
Lol. Thanks for watching anyway, mate
