    Alex, it might mean absolutely nothing to you but I now own a v2 GC8 WRX (x3), Blobeye WRX, Hawkeye WRX, a 2009 STi Hatch and it’s all thanks to you. You inspired me to learn the often painstaking process of building a Subaru and how rewarding it can be when it all comes together. Thank you for making Subaru content again!
    Greetings from Lusaka, Zambia!

    For coilovers. Cygnus performance. They are custom valve specs by Geoff Cygnus who is the owner and has quite a bit of Subaru experience himself. He can valve them for comfort or Motorsports use. And they are made by fortune auto (he partners with them). They are rebuildable, and you can go up to 2 way if you’d like. Or with simple 500/510s that Cygnus does the valving/springs to your specs. I have the x1 Motorsports version, valves for track use, and the stiffest springs I have used (third set of coils). And they still ride better than my previous sets. I can’t say enough good (running these on an 06 STi).

      100% recommend Cygnus X-1's with hyperco or swift springs and motorsport valving. I've had so many coilovers over 20 years, and these on my GR STi have been some of the best coilovers I've ever had.

    Im fairly new to the wrx platform and have always loved cars, but I was never the guy who did my own modifications, but now I'm learning and I'm going to teach my kids what I learn along the way. I bought a satin white pearl 07 STi back in 2021, and so far, the only thing engine modification wise that I did was an IAG aos that I installed back in April of this year. I wanted to do more engine wise, but I found out that the guy I bought the car from was shady, so the car needs a tune and I don't live any where close to a tune shop, it needs some coilovers because it has lowering springs and it's a little to bumpy for me. I found out that the advans that are on it are bent, so I also have to get new wheels and tires. There are so many things to fix, but with that said, I love my Hawkeye. What I have taken out of this situation is that people are out for them selfs and to question everything. Sorry for the book.

    While I agree the 6 speed swap is well worth it, I don’t get why I see so many WRX’s with the swap. I know these days you have to work with what you got but the cost of the swap vs the cost of just buying an STI was always a head scratcher to me. My 04 FXT is 6 speed swapped but there’s no way around that, it never was an option with the 6 speed.

    • @Dr.Ticklebum69
      @Dr.Ticklebum69 10 месяцев назад +1

      Devils advocate here, but oftentimes the ones that pop are the ones that are beat on, poorly maintained, poorly modded.
      Subarus might be more sensitive than say, a civic, but they aren't bad vehicles by far. I've had a few and all were reasonably good experiences, included my full bolt on and tuned stage 2+ wrx. But again, I maintained and didn't beat on it. Wouldn't mind trying an Evo someday though.

      @@Dr.Ticklebum69I beat on my 2020 stage 1+ for 26k miles a lot in the mountains on gravel and sand and mud. Car never skipped a beat. Kept up maintenance and always kept an eye on fluids. Never burned oil or anything. It wasn’t until I got tuned by ambot that I fully enjoyed the car. But I ended up trading it for a 23 wrx premium. Put a wing on it and my 20mm spacers, already tinted the windows. Had to replace my tires which sucked ass because the new dunlops on these cars are amazing and look pretty sick. But I’d rather have traction in the snow and ice xD so far this car is what I wanted my 2020 wrx to be, a fun easy car.
