@powertothesheeple5422 I suppose you don't realise the 22b is extremely reliable, the smaller 2.2 litre motor was brilliant and suffered none of the issues the 2.5 faced

It was always either the WRX, Evo VIII or the R34 that were my mainstays for most racing games, especially in Gran Turismo. The Evo was usually the most affordable, so that got the most work done and was usually modified to be the fastest, and the WRX of course was always the rally option until you unlocked and bought the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak which then basically blew every car out of the water in most of the game. 😂

@@MarioGoatse Yeah, '89 but still eighties. The Escudo was like a cheat car once you unlocked it. I remember me and my older brother just pulling all nighters in endurance races on GT2 with the Escudo, and just lapping the last two cars over and over again until we lost count. Good times.
@@navtektv Hahaha same here. I remember the first time I played it and I was tripping on those TVR cars. The graphics looked so great back then, but you look back now and think “I swear they looked much better!”
I have a funny story about the 22B. I was at V 4&Rotary Auckland NZ and there was one in the show area. But after standing around the car and admiring it for ten minutes, I noticed it was going entirely, completely unnoticed. Nobody even knew it was special, didn't see a single person look at it twice. Fascinating that this car, at least in 2011 at that show, completely flew under the radar. Not saying the 22b isn't special, but it's interesting that it can fly under the radar as "another subie" like that. Perhaps, as this was in 2011 when boxer imprezas and legacy's were at their cheapest and most abundant and perhaps apathy toward subarus due to exposure of noise polluting loud subies in my countryman was why the subaru 22b went unnoticed that day.
Props to the production crew. I didn’t even realize I was watching an ad for that camera. They could’ve just threw in a sit down shout out to the company that we all would skipped.
Not for you to decide lol, every decade this happens when the cars from 30 years before start skyrocketing in value as all the people who were teens at the time hit their 50's and actually have the money to get the cars they always wanted
I was always under the impression they made those cars special because WRC rules mandated that in order to use a platform in races, it had to sell at least 400 production units to qualify for the group they were entering.
You have failed to mention the significance of the UK’s 🇬🇧 Prodrive company involved in this car’s development, manufacturing, and making it a winner in the WRC. This company still exists and is incredibly important in racing.

@@thepjup4507 The good ol blob eye. I honestly want a 05 sti and specifically my dad's 04 wrx. I personally don't like the bug eye but that's just because it has very very basic looks to it.

I have a 1970 Camaro RS/SS with a 383, set up for road racing, but my dream car is still a first generation Subaru Impreza wagon with 22B fenders(they make em) and an STI swap 💕
My Version 4 STi swapped first gen Impreza wagon is for sale right now. 6 speed too.
@@Captaindan7141 how much are you asking? I’m not in the market, but curious. Post a link to the listing if there is one. ϟkål!
Congratulations on the partnership guys! I live on the east coast, so I will not be able to make it :(. I appreciate the videos and all of y’all’s hard work over the years. Thank you for everything!
The 22b is nostalgia with tires, the looks make you think dirt flying, the colors combo sticks in your brain, and the sound is a natural high. It’s just….perfect for the “90s was cool” vibe.
Great video, loved the editing and the effects. 22Bs are awesome but yeah if I had 300k to spend on car stuff I don't think I would get one.
I would literally laugh in a persons face if they told me they spent $300K on a Subaru. I have not and will never understand the draw to these unreliable plastic turds - I've ridden and driven plenty, when they are not on jack-stands in someone's driveway getting the engine or trans replaced for the XX time.
@powertothesheeple5422 I suppose you don't realise the 22b is extremely reliable, the smaller 2.2 litre motor was brilliant and suffered none of the issues the 2.5 faced
@@aiden6843that being said you could probably strap a rocket ship to a Subaru for $300k…. Or build your own 22b for less than $50k and pocket the rest.
@@powertothesheeple5422 you probably like rusty bmws and mercedes lol
Having Kiryu's body as the Subaru CEO is awesome
Edit: Having all the CEOs being Yakuza cast characters is even awsomer
One of my favorite Japanese cars ever. Not gonna hate on the gold O.Z wheels but WHY WOULD YOU DEBADGE THE '22B' BADGE????
A 22b badge is a car thief's wet dream.
They are AUSTRALIAN, you bell end
What a terrible mistake donut will blow up this engine within a month
I love Justin's enthusiasm for the 22b!. I love Justin's enthusiasm for the 22b!.
Dang bros, I didn't realize that right before our eyes Donut had gone from such humble beginnings to highly successful brand. It's been a ride, for sure. Congratulations to the Donut team, you guys have earned it. Keep up the good work.
I remember falling in love with this car in Gran Turismo on PlayStation. It was my favorite to race.
I skipped the add but saw a few frames.
I had to rewind and rewatch.
Such a beautiful car, one of my favourite donut videos to date!
That is also Bunta’s car (okay his is actually GC8F not GC8E/22B, but visually and performance are about the same)
Which is also what Takumi drove after he blew 86’s engine.
no matter donut boys are professional or not, they love cars as we do, we dream as one❤
I honestly watched the whole ad because I wanted to see the three of you guys go round that track with some nice cars 😂
@AlexanderChristopher-qg4kl Mohammad was a violent war criminal and should be treated the same as Hitler when looking back at history.
Those iconic jdm cars go for insane costs now wow. Supras, gtrs, wrx sti and others

@@Lemingtona-x5gI meant most JDM sports cars of that era not just imprezas

@hassyg4083 legitimately not true, that era was the best subaru boxers, the the 22b has Subaru's second most reliable 4 cylinder motor, only after the ej20g which the 22bs motor is just a bored out version of
Man don't know who he is but guy really stole the scene for me right at 8 minutes hahaha Justin even with the smile bug enough to fill the screen on the beauty of a 22B, you living the dream man.
You were born in the 80s weren’t you? I know because you just described exactly how I played the exact same game. I bet there’s a lot of us here lol. By the way. Remember how fast that Escudo went? It would glitch out and go insane!
I’m getting one for the track days. Also congrats to Donut media, especially Justin for getting your wishlist come true. Peak Suburu moment 🎉
Yeah right
You're not getting a WRX for track days let alone a 22B.
If you think $300,000 is neatly have a million dollars than I have an address for you to send a few hundred thousand dollars to.
Not really convincing me that it is worth 300k.
Props to the production crew. I didn’t even realize I was watching an ad for that camera. They could’ve just threw in a sit down shout out to the company that we all would skipped.
Not worth 300,000 but the 22b is amazing
60k tops. 100k for the prototype.
Not for you to decide lol, every decade this happens when the cars from 30 years before start skyrocketing in value as all the people who were teens at the time hit their 50's and actually have the money to get the cars they always wanted
@@cenciende9401 what an idiot pays and what it’s worth are two different things.
I was always under the impression they made those cars special because WRC rules mandated that in order to use a platform in races, it had to sell at least 400 production units to qualify for the group they were entering.
Great work, I love the fresh camera angles, speech and energy, everything is on point and work together to deliver a great video !
I wouldn't pay $300k but it's a cool $100k car maybe. Things are ONLY worth what someone is willing to pay.
Did you watch the video?
People also pay this kind of money for a supra. Which I think is even crazier
Anyone that pays 300 grand for this needs to be audited.
Definitely car royalty, and whyyyyyyyy would they remove the 22B badge????? thats crazy
Step away from the Subaru... we all saw what you did with the last ones... :P
MUITO BOM DONUT MIDIAS
This is "Top Gear" stuff, u guys r new "Top Gear". Get sponsors, get cars to review, go for adventures, be who u r. please, we all need this.
I’m curious if it will blow up after 5-6 laps like the others?
No hot laps 😢
Well donut didnt mod the engine, so itll be fine
They're the most or second most reliable 4 cylinder subaru, probably after the ej20g which was bored out to create this motor so doubt it
As a former Subaru owner, one of the most iconic things about Subarus is how their power door locks quit working.
Donut guys: "This Subaru is worth 300k."
Me: "No, it's not. "... "Not unless Colin McRae himself drove/owned it"
Hope the editor had fun making this this was a blast to watch
The fact that they still allow James to drive anything is a surprise to me.
Until recent years I never knew how few of these cars existed. It’s truly an amazing car. The only Subaru I’d ever want to own
I had a 97 version 3 sti. The car was great. I've never had a car that handled so well no matter how hard you threw it into a corner
I never post comments, but I'm just like Justin in that this is my favorite car of all time. Thank you for this!
You have failed to mention the significance of the UK’s 🇬🇧 Prodrive company involved in this car’s development, manufacturing, and making it a winner in the WRC. This company still exists and is incredibly important in racing.
Justin's excitement at 8:00 is contagious lmao he looks like a peanuts character he has the same joy as a 9 yr old finding out pizza for dinner
Shame you guys mist the fact that only 399 units are made (Not counting the prototypes) Unit number 13 does not exist.
Happy to see Justin coming out of his shell! He usually seems like a third wheel in other people’s vids, but this feels like he really wanted to be there
Justin's nonstop smile while driving is exactly how I'd know I'd feel in that beast
22b is dream stuff. Since the early 00s. What an icon.
I still remembered a lot about this 22B STi Impreza from TEST DRIVE 6 & GRAN TURISMO 2.
20 years ago I bought a 98 STI with forged internals, big turbo, big front mount............ Best time of my life, and previously I was driving a mark 4 Supra and dating the underwear model from the antz pantz commercial. Being single with my Rex was the all time high.
Yo, I knew exactly what this was about. The 22B is an icon, and no one should be surprised by anything that has to do with this car.
It's cool. As a subbie fan, I'll be the first (or 789th) to admit this isnt worth the asking price. Let's be honest, LCE will sell you a fully decked out sport quattro for less. It's faster, more fun, sounds better, handles better and is cooler.
Best race car in Gran Turismo 5
I've grown to love Justin. He just a big lovable teddy bear. And he has badass taste!!!
Justin was super excited and joyful today as ever but more special
Quite a few visible mods on that 22B. If I'm looking to buy one, I'd place a premium on originality. Many of the parts that are exclusive to this model are vanishingly rare.
3:43 My old '07 STi Limited would disagree... man i miss that car sometimes. Such a great sleeper look.
