Let's assume you're lucky enough to be floating around in the Pacific after a crash landing in your life jacket. Be hard work to use arm as pole held above head for 2 hrs keeping wire out the water.
Use your non-metallic selfie stick you take on each flight to film your stylish crash landing into the sea. Once found you can sell the film rights to Hollywood.
Exactly.. This watch is more of a rich adventurers' flex on their friends. There's never been a time where the watch would have been "handy" during its existence, as there's always been locator beacons in aircraft that are far more accurate than this toy..
so basically, if you re sailing, your boat is sinking, it's raining, you need to use the emergency boat to escape, the breitling emergency may not work if it touch water (sea, rain....) ? So, wheres the point ?
This actually isn't a 'silly' question at all, for you haters...Yes, boats have all sorts of (or are supposed to have) beacons and radios, and what have you, to help contact emergency services, but let's give a hypothetical in which you are being boarded by unwanted persons (pirates or any other bad actors) and you don't want to access, or can't access for some reason, the usual said beacons and radios, but are in a part of the craft in which you can deploy this type of beacon successfully as an alternative. Long winded comment short: multiple types of emergency beacons on the same craft are a good thing, so why not?
@@gavinhalm3016 at least its a subtly small timepiece and a Somali pirate would likely put you in the speedboat without taking a $16k bonus. You could then ask to borrow a pole and get to work.
Correct, the battery of the signal is rechargeable with the magnetic charger, the battery of the watch it selves needs to be changed by Breitling because they need to open and seal the watch again for the water resistancy. At the same time the movement of the of the watch gets a check-up and a service warranty of 1 year.
In my country it cost 15,000€ , ok.. but isn’t there a new model like 2022-2023 Maybe? And how much Are They ? If They Are 6-9 Years old ? Even if They Are new in the box.. u guys think its worth 15.000€? Or $? I do love this Watch.. but still.. its a lot of money just to own a private beacon 😜
Jojo Labuguen: Dear Jojo, you are right, this watch needs to come in after you used the beacon. It is true that this special watch costs almost 15k... The first generation of the emergency saved 21 lives... Those 21 people were glad they had this expensive ‘Instrument for Professionals’ on them and that’s why Breitling still produces them and make them better and better!
You may loose everything you got depending on the emergency including gps, sat phone etc, but the watch is always going to be on the arm. And they made it look soo good.

10 grand of safeguard in case you often do some odd expedition is quite reassuring in my opinion in those 10k, you get a watch that is internationally unique to you only, can act as a distress beacon anywhere in the earth, and made from probably titanium in high quality, I would say it's better than normal fashion gadget in case you really have a need for it
lars larsen The previous model of this new Emergency watch rescued officially 21 human lives, enough to make a new model with dual frequency. Breitling is convinced that their own frequency (406MHz) will save even more lives.

If you own this, part of you wants to be in a rescue situation just to try the watch.
Erm.. I'd rather never have to use the emergency beacon lol
Instablaster.
Better to have it and not need it....
So in order to set this up, you need to put it on a pole of some sort... what if your in the desert and there isnt a tree? What then?

Hey first walk
kris You have to have a Raft if you are going a certain distance from Shore. The Rafts have a larger Beacon in them.
If your on a boat you should have a radio to transmit audio and location if emergency
