    Oh my God, I’m about to cry. I saw your other video then went straight to this one today, and I’m almost in tears because I’ve been experiencing this recently and apparently had this in the past too, and I got scared and felt alone and like no one understood exactly what I was going through. I have both Generalized Anxiety Disorder and mixed type ADHD, so I didn’t know what was going on. I didn’t know the cause and I was afraid I was faking it almost as a fear, though I couldn’t be and I loved how you described it last video as being like a sneeze because that’s exactly how it feels for me. But to hear your story and see other’s in the comments, it makes me so happy. And you’re right that it isn’t the worst and I love you attitude towards it. Thank you so much for these videos.

Recently i started clenching my teeth so hard; sometimes i feel like my teeth are going break then i make like a barking noise or some sort of weird noise when im stressed and focused or just stressed but mainly when im stressed and focused on doing something. It really hurts my teeth because i clench them so hard and i hurt my vocal cords because i try not to make the bark too loud. The times i had realized what i was doing i tried chewing gum and i usually end up chewing every stick of gum in the pack and i can rarely ever get gum so its really hard to stay doing that thank you Erin Anastasia for this video as well as the first video because without these videos i wouldve never fully realized i did that

    I loved the way you chose to film your latest poem! It was beautiful and impactful. Writing, burying myself in editing work (100+ pages a day 10 hour days sometimes), and video games are my coping mechanisms for "dealing" my depression and anxiety.

    • @KerriB
      @KerriB 5 лет назад +1

      @@ErinAnastasia A lot of my anxiety stems from not feeling productive enough. I can thank my mom's ex boyfriend for that. He used to yell, "Why don't you get off your ass and do something? You kids are so lazy" at me when I was watching TV a few minutes after getting home from school nearly every day for a few months til Mom finally got fed up with how lazy he was and kicked him out after finding out he was growing weed in our old barn (he was on a combo of weed and painkillers, otherwise he was super nice). I was 16. I'm 24 now and I still get choked up just thinking about it.

    THANK YOU FOR POSTING THESE VIDEOS ABOUT YOUR STRESS TICS. I've been looking for information on this for years now. Mine started out small, I thought I was just popping my neck, and became more like neck jerks, and continued to get more and more intense. My problem now is that they are so rough, I whip my neck so hard or attempt to "get the itch" and can't reach it causing more stress and more tension, my neck, shoulders, jaw, and head are consistently in pain, but I can't stop. I got prescribed anti anxiety meds, migraine meds, NOTHING will help me. I feel like I'm going to snap my neck, but I can't stop it.

    I have similar tics but I only do faces and cramp my neck it really hurt and makes me feel so insecure, I use to tic alot when I was younger, had just a few unnoticeable tics growing up and now the got so much worse. I‘m really worried how they will develop when I‘m older because I don’t know how to cooperate. But seeing you master them as well makes me so much more optimistic.

    When I was young, probably between the ages of 10 and 15, I used to have a tic with my eyes. I used to blink really hard and long, or wink in the same way. Watching back some old family videos and it's really obvious to see now, years later. They went away more or less completely into my early adult years, although can make return visits, but these are very rare and usually last hours at the most and then I won't have them again for months and months. Most recently and for the past couple of weeks, I've had a bit of a head jerk tic. I notice that it only really comes on at home, I don't notice it at work. Whether that's because I'm thinking about it at home and that's fuelling the fire..whereas at work I don't have the time to really think about it. These tics for me are completely controllable. They aren't involuntary at all. If I stop thinking about it, take my mind completely off it and just force myself to focus on something else, they do subside. If I start to think about it...like I am doing now (in full head jerk and blink mode urge writing this comment), they are naturally a lot worse. I think the biggest fear for a lot of people is tourettes...or the symptoms we all think of when we hear the word tourettes. Like...it starts with head jerks and blinking...and it ends with walking down the street telling everyone to f*** off twenty times a day. It's naturally scary. But I think a lot of it is stress/anxiety induced.

    When my mom passed away last year, within the same hour i recieved the news, i began getting tics. I got scared, and i thought i was crazy. And i could cobtrol it. As the days went on, it got worse and worse. My twin brother and older sister told me to stop or to just "hold my head still" but I couldn't do it. I told myself that it would go away with time. But then i would get another attack and it made me frustrated because it was still happening. Then a teacher at my school told me that he has it too, and his eyes just twitch, he's had it for years and it never really goes away, but you learn to live with it. That wqs the best advice i had recieved. Soo it disappeared, and I hadn't thought about it. It was crazy, almost like my body had forgotten how to tic. But then one day i got really stressed, and it happened again. It got so bad I had to go to the ER and they had to sedate me. My neck twitches far to the side and i clench my teeth and squint my eyes. When it gets really bad, I've caught myself yelling curse words, like three times. It makes me so uncomfortable and embarassed because I know that people arw seeing it and thinking about it but they just dont say anything. Depending on ny stress and anxiety levels, they can be set off by sudden loud sounds, crowded rooms, or even the thought of my mom. Evn temperature changes, suches walking into an air conditioned room. Even when my tics became basically non-existent, I would still always get them when I got "chills", you know? Without fail, everytime. Even now. Even now I hate myself for it, like why can't I get a grip of myself, like what kind of loser can't even control his own body. They come and go, sometimes out of no where. Its been a year and three months, so I have to get used to it eventually, right? At least it's nice to know I'm not the only one.

    I am 53 and I have had nervous tics as long as I can remember….super frustrating. I do mine at home, but they definitely get worse if I am in a large crowd, like watching a basketball game. Some examples are: adjusting my bra, messing with my hair (like pulling my pigtail tighter over and over again when it doesn’t need it), fiddling with my glasses, adjusting my clothes (depending what I have on that day), the list goes on and on! 🙄 I used to type in my head when I watched TV. I would just pick a random sentence they were saying and typed that over and over. Sometimes using my feet to “ air type” with. I have tics that will come and go like the seasons, but other tics are a daily thing…. those never go away. Over the years, I have learned to hide them well from others. I came from a VERY abusive childhood. Am guessing that’s where mine originated?!!

I constantly feel super hyper and exhausted at the same time. Hard to explain to people since I’m a 45 year old male who is otherwise attractive and in really good shape. I have epilespy, and I was on meds, but I decided to go off them a few weeks ago and my mother called the epilepsy nurse and told her that I REALLY wanted to go off the meds. I hated them for many reasons. Around February (2019) I started noticing tics, and on the phone my mother mentioned weird twitches and sounds I was making, and even though she had never seen one of my twitches she told me they were myoclonic seizures, which I do not agree with at all. They happen constantly everyday, but myclonic seizures typically happen within a few hours of waking up, and involve both arms from what I research. I punch and hit myself, throw things, make sounds, whistle and sooo many more random things.
    People think I'm attention seeking because when I tell them I was told they were seizures, they think I'm faking it because I couldn't be having a seizure all day could I? I don't know what to do tbh.

    • @Rachel-_-
      @Rachel-_- 2 года назад

      I know this was 2yrs ago but I’m gonna reply. I’m diagnosed with both tonic clonic(grand mal) and myoclonic seizures since I was about 11. You can have myoclonic seizures throughout the day. It isn’t just the arms or both arms it can be neck, leg, arms any part of the body in any order or variation basically. I used to throw my cereal in the mornings so I would sit with I towel over me. I don’t think verbal sounds are part of myoclonic seizures though so I would have to agree with you that it is more likely you are experiencing some form of tics or tic disorder. I always said myoclonic seizures resemble Tourette’s b/c they really do. I had over 20 in one class period when they were at their worst. Mine were primarily brought in by stress. My seizures are now controlled but I have noticed recently some twitches that don’t feel like myoclonic seizures

    • @Rachel-_-
      @Rachel-_- 2 года назад

      I should explain more I guess. To me when I had a myoclonic one I would have almost like a shiver down the spine and it felt like someone stuck a defibrillator to my chest and often times my breath got caught. These ones are repetitive and I don’t feel almost shocked. I can to some extent control them as well sometimes with the myoclonic seizures I had zero control. This is my best explanation even if you never see it or already have it figured out. But I have also hit myself when have a myoclonic seizure not fun so I relate hard. I hope you figured everything out

  • @user-yx1nu6tc6g
    @user-yx1nu6tc6g 5 лет назад +2

    Ok so from what I've seen of your tic attacks, mine are far more worse (not to flex or anything). I have around 5 tics, 2 in the neck (like throwing my head back or to the side(the first one is new and is very repetitive)), 2 with my hands (snapping and hitting my own hands ending up like a clap or hitting my seat) and 1 in my shoulders (they just jerk like when you say "I don't care" but instead of going upwards they go inwards) (idk if I explained myself well, but oh shit, why would you care?)
    So, I usually (and by usually I mean most of the time) have them in my school and since school tends to stress me out it worsens my tics.
    Like, a good 80% of my class for me is my tics and my classmates make fun of me or ask me to just _relax_ as if it would be that easy.
    Fact: I've been having tics for 1 year and a half or 2 years, I'm not sure, but they never were this bad and just this past few weeks have they've been *_intense_*
    Fun fact: my fucking neck hurts and I think I'm gonna break it one of these days.
    Fun fact#2: when I said they are an 80% of my class I wasn't kidding. In most of my classes, every 10 to 15 seconds I'm twitching like a goddamn cockroach on Baygon (insecticide)
    Fun fact#3 : this past week (Wednesday to be precise) I went out with my crush (haha kill me) and magically, I didn't have that much tics. Like, one or two every... what? 10 minutes maybe?
    So yay for me for not making the fool around my crush although it was a bit awkward
    Ok so um, that was it, I just wanted to let you know although no one is going to read this ;)
    I'm sorry for my grammar and misplacing commas and periods. My main language isn't English so, sorry?
